Been here a few times, and Tabor Tavern never disappoints. Hearty American fare in a dark cozy pub type atmosphere. You might not have to wait if you get there early. The burger has always been good, but today I opted for the fish n chips because it was recommended. Big piece of haddock with malt aioli. Very tasty, and the cole slaw was actually good. I started with the available soup today, Cheesy Potato Jalapeno... was so good and spicy. Really enjoyed the meal tonight, and the service was excellent.

Good food. Lots of old photos of area on walls. Only minus was french fries. Thin with skin on got limp quickly. Maybe heat in oven before serving? Great place to go. Would go back.

A friend of mine lives near this restaurant and recommended we go there for dinner. It is a neighborhood tavern serving mainly burgers, sandwiches, and salads. It was a nice evening, so we sat outside on one of their sidewalk picnic tables. The food was good, as was their service. They have a small parking lot which was full, so we ended up parking nearby on the street. This is a great spot for casual dining.

What a breath of fresh air this little north tabor tavern is! The food is exactly what you’d expect at a tavern…amazing burgers, crazy good kale salads, muscle dishes and classics like Mac n cheese, chicken dishes. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, staff is friendly and attentive AND I come back every time I’m in town without fail. My sister received a gift card so margaritas for all!!

Visited right when they opened for service. The place quickly filled up. I ordered the fish and chips after the waitress recommended it over a burger. This was the best fish and chips I’d had in town. Highly recommended you try it. The French fries and sauces made the dish even more delicious. The server was very helpful and attentive. Highly recommend you visit!

4/1/23 Update - This restaurant remains one of our favorites! The staff is always friendly and the food is always delicious.
Delightful find near Mt. Tabor. Nice and chill on a Sunday afternoon. Music was thoroughly enjoyable with heavy female vocal led indie/alt rock. Not sure if that's all the time or just the mood of the day.
Drinks were delicious! Try the French Kick for a tart, fruity, vodka drink. Fried Chicken Sandwich was delicious as well. Crispy airy fried chicken in a delicious bun with aioli. Fun area and some outside seating.

This is probably my favorite local pub. Lots of options to drink, and THE BEST burger in town.... not opinion, basically a fact.
The guy that owns or runs the place is nice and around often. The place is always busy, but never in a negative way. The food never takes too long, and it's always hot and the quality never wavers.
Seriously the best little spot in NE Portland.
Everyone should check it out. 🙃

This is a cute pub with great food. Definitely worth stopping by. The service was great. I'd recommend the bacon jam burger and fries. Loved their homemade ranch.

Tabor Tavern is a regular destination with a particular group of out of town relatives, who can't wait to return whenever they come to town. Salads, mac & cheese, and a variety of burgers never fail to impress. The chalkboard always has a selection of beers to go with all food choices. All in all, Tabor Tavern is a great match for the neighborhood - great quality without stuffiness.

Love this place- a great neighborhood place to go anytime. They have bacon jam! Good on anything!! It's my go to place to meet up with friends. Wait staff always pleasant and never rush you! Thanks Zig for giving us a nice place in the hood.

This place is so amazing I almost want to keep it a secret! Ordered their Angel Hair pasta tonight with seared salmon, so decedent! This was a, "to go" order but I've eaten here three times! They have a quarterly changing menu and fresh local products and lovely speciality cocktails! Best kept secret!

I had the Tabor Burger and it was one of the best burgers I have ever had. The blue cheese and bacon jam combination gave it such a unique flavor. I highly recommend the Tabor Tavern!
Diana Methfessel
I enjoyed the lamb burger. When I originally had this burger over a year ago brie cheese and the bacon jam was the spread. I liked that better.

They are great! I've been going since they opened. Rotateing menu keeps thing fresh and interesting (Tabor Dip is my current favorite). Best fries in town, and brunch is out of this world (THE REV!)

Food was just ok. Smaller portions and about $1-$2 overpriced. Service was acceptable. Very limited menu.
Lorrie M Wiatt
Nothing to brag about, very limited menu. I had Tabor Dip and it was good, husband had burger, I think it was to fancy for him.

Wonderful food and service. A great neighborhood place!

I loved it, and would definitely recommend it to my friends!

The food was amazing as was the service. Thought I'd try something new while I was out and I'm glad I did. A great burger (Tabor burger with Gouda) and a nice selection of drinks to wash it down with all at a good price.

Stopped in randomly and was very pleased. Great menu and atmosphere. I will especially be back for The Juatenejo (sp?)

Been coming here for years. Tabor Burger is best burger in town! Though I try to venture out which is incredibly tough with bacon jam involved!
Frank Leavitt
We have been working our way through the menu and can honestly say, we've not had one bad thing! The food is creative, fresh and tastes amazing! The staff is super friendly and always willing to offer suggestions. If you haven't tried Tabor Tavern, get on it! Now.

My family and I eat here All The Time and love it. The Food is always amazing, the service is awesome, and the ambience is warm and welcoming. Highly recommended!

We eat here all of the time. Food is excellent. One piece of advice-change your restrooms to be gender neutral. There is absolutely no reason to label one bathroom for women and the other for men. Given that they are individual toilet rooms, there is no way for this to be controversial.
Jim Costa
Great atmosphete. Friendly staff. Great chicken and waffles/chicken fried steak and waffles!
George Massey
Have been here many times and love this place, but ate dinner here on Saturday and had the coconut curry mussels and wound up with food poisoning. Spent the evening and the entire next day sick in bed.
Lonni Landaker
We had the Brussel sprouts, mussels, chicken wings, cheddar cauliflower, roasted roots salad with steak and grilled portobello. It was awesome! We'll definitely bring friends here
Bryan Schoen
This place is awesome. Zigs Swig is delish and the chicken fried steak breakfast is amaze balls. Oh yeah and the bacon jam is to die for, literally. You can't go wrong at Tabor Tavern.
Kristy McFarland
We used to love this place. Unfortunately, this evening while waiting for a table, we decided to go somewhere else. We have a two year old who was playing nicely and squealed 1 time in happiness, which led to a staff member rudely asking us to go outside. It was so loud in the restaurant you would have to yell to hear each other, which is what made it a family friendly place, especially at 5:30. We used to feel so welcome with our son. Be warned, your kids may not be as welcome as it would appear.

Amazing!
New favorite place by FAR! Just move into this neighborhood will be bringing friends here!
Jason Jacks
It was amazing, but they ran out of pretzels and clams. We were kind of bummed but then tried the mushroom appetizer, and it was amazing. Food is excellent!
Duane Clark
By far the best Burger in Portland! I also think that there Mac & Cheese may be the Best I have ever had! Great food, friendly staff good times
Kelsey Goff Scott
Best fish and chips I've ever had. The chunk of fish took up the entire plate. Thin and crunchy breading--perfection.
Dawn McCauley
They use quality ingredients and delicious recipes. Nice atmosphere and service is great.
Erica Peirson
Delicious beet salad. Thank you for having good food with veggies on the kids' menu.
Stefanie Simon
Had date night here last night for the 1st time. We LOVED it! Food & drinks were great, atmosphere and our waitress was awesome! Definitely will be back!
Donald Link-Westbrook
Was there on Friday at noon and it was jam packed. Vivian was amazing. The food was fantastic. It was our first time there and will definitely be back
Danielle Ånenson
The food was alright. It was just another burger...nothing setting it apart. Server was super rude! Hostess was even worse when we asked for a table by the window.

Good food everytime!. This place is so comfortable, the staff so great and the food so fabulous that I never say no when someone asks if I want to eat here! The beer is amazing as well. Don't miss this experience; you'll come back for more.
Darren
Great burger - gourmet, and perhaps best I have tried in town. after a year of trying other burgers (Lardo, Ate-o-Ate, etc) , this one still comes out on top.

We went to the Tabor Tavern today for the first time for a special get together with out of town relatives. It was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. I'm in my sixties and have eaten in thousands of restaurants. This was the single slowest service I've ever experiences. It took literally over an hour and fifteen minutes from the time the order was taken until we were served. The restaurant was not that busy. It was about 60% full. Our group was nine people, not that huge. The waitress didn't apologize dispite the fact we kept asking about the food. Then when they finally brought the food out in dribbles, a couple of people at a time, they got two of our orders wrong and they had to take them back to the kitchen and they also served three of the meals to the wrong people. The salad with chicken I had was mediocre at best. The place was ear-damaging loud. My ears are still ringing. Then they charged an automatic 20% gratuity for our group. I will never go back. If I can avoid even driving by the place I will.

Wow, Awful Service. Went with my mom to have a glass of wine and catch up the other night. After ordering and receiving our wine, we decided it was WAY too loud and impossible to carry on a conversation, so I got up and asked the waitress if we might be seated out at an empty table outside? She checked with her manager and the manager approached me saying, "I'm sorry, but we can't be shuffling people around after they've already been seated." Say what? It just went down hill from there. It was an awful experience, and one I won't repeat again. Tabor Tavern is a big thumbs down for us. Before leaving I had to ask the manager, so the customer is not right here. They even charged us full price for our partially drunk wines, and said we were lucky we weren't being charged for the meals we had ordered! Buh Bye!

Service was close to perfect at Tabor Tavern. It's obvious that this place employs people who really want to impress the customers and make a name for itself as a neighborhood gem. It's nice to know it's there...I just wish that it was still my neighborhood. At least it's on the way home from work.
