Love their food and yummy cocktails. They also always give an exceptional service. đđč
Love love this place! I can eat there everyday! Great ambiance and service!
Very fresh & delicious food! Nice atmosphere & A cool bar in back of restaraunt. Ordered Lemongrass chicken bowl & was very satisfied!
First Phá» joint that is served by two white cute guys, no Vietnamese. The Vietnamese are in the kitchen. The two white guys are very friendly and efficient. Awesome Pho two.
Keith was great and the food was even better!
Good vegan Pho, really nice environment. I like stopping in from time to time for the atmosphere and the food.
One of my favorites. The happy hour is excellent as is the service and ambiance.
Loved it! Will definitely return. Good to the last drop!
The beef pho was flavorful! Definitely going back.
Pho Van has the feel of a large urban kitchen with large windows. There are long wood tables and a wood bar facing the street. The furniture is all metal which is an interesting contrast to the wood tables. You order your food at a counter and it is delivered to you. We tried several dishes and they all tasted fresh. My favorite was the vegetarian egg rolls. My least favorite dish was the papaya salad. It was crunchy but had a little too much fish sauce.
Wow they totally remodeled and reinvented themselves. Same great food but more casual and extensive menu. Love this place
Really good! Order the of- menu Ramen, its probably the best thing there.
Food was decent if you don't want to take your rental car out of the $30 valet and venture outside of the little city. Food was tasty but the Spanish server was useless....
Great pho. I always order the pho. The broth has a lot of flavor, and the portion of meat is generous. The soup comes with a side of bean sprouts, sliced peppers, basil and lime which you can add to your soup to flavor it the way you like. I also like the appetizers like the chicken wings. They were sweet and came with a spicy dipping sauce.
The restaurant is spacious and fancy. I've been many times and have never been disappointed.
Delicious. This is my go to Vietnamese restaurant when I'm in Portland. Love that the servers wear these traditional silk outfits. Fantastic cocktails and outstanding presentation of food.
The drinks are exotic and good. The bar is beautiful . The staff is a little snoddy but I can forgive that because the food is so good.
Upscale Vietnamese..... This is the upscale version of Pho Van and I would consider it to be a hit. The cuisine speaks to me on many levels and while I have frequented Pho Van many more times than Silk, it is still worth the higher price.
Go with the Honey-Lemongrass Chicken and certainly try the crispy rolls. (pork is your friend)
Delightful Happy Hour at Silk. I am writing a blog about Pho in Portland, so we choose to visit Silk before attending a play at PCS. I won't bore you with all the specific details, but needless to say, we had an amazing experience here. They didn't know I was reviewing them, and we still were greeted warmly, accomodated, given precise information, and prompt service. The server, Cat, was amazingly efficient with the bar full of people, yet she never looked rushed.
We ordered lemongrass chicken banh mi, pork meatballs, and pho bo. Every dish was perfect, and I only needed to request some chili paste for the banh mi. The pho came with the typical accompaniments--sprouts, lime, basil--and with some chili paste it was divine. The wine selection with dinner complemented the meal well, and all this for less than $40 for two people, including a generous tip!
Next time you're in the Pearl, visit Silk. You'll thank me. :)
Best asian happy hour fare. Drinks are original, food is amazing and well priced.
Happy hour in the glamorous Pearl!. Great happy hour and fun drinks. Love the crispy rolls and the curry. Cool vibe in the bar.
One of my favs. Other than their strange hours, this place is one of my favorites to go to in the Pearl. And now they have Happy Hour from 4:30 to 9:30. I would recommend their crispy rolls. I crave them constantly. The staff is always polite and the food always seems to come in a timely fashion.
Great food - ok portion size. The Pho was good - but expect nothing less from Pho van. I also expect a lot of flavor from the chilli oil sauce - would give this place a 7. Tofu & veggies was a pleasant surprise & the crispy rolls were great. Follow up with mango yogurt from Skinidip - next door ;-)
I wouldn't stand in line..... Well, I'll just give you the facts, no I never do that, this is about opinions, isn't it? In a word, "eh'.
We had CháșŁ GiĂČ (crispy rolls) as an appetizer, CĂĄ HĂ Ná»i (Grilled Salmon) and a noodle dish that was very similar to Pad Thai. A couple of the crispy rolls were lightly overcooked and I wasn't fond of the chewy pork bits inside, the flavor was too strong, like the pork was leftover from last week. My fellow diners thought they were "fine". The salmon was very delicious - I was lery of the pineapple sauce but it wasn't pineapple-y and the skewers came with a terrific fish dipping sauce. It was cooked well and for some the salmon might have been too strong for the south asian flavors but I think they made it work. The noodle salads were great. The pad thai-like dish, "stir fried noodles" wasn't spectacular. It was effectively a decent stir fried noodle. (we didn't take the leftovers).
Good service. Fast, effecient and pleasant. Ambiance? Uh, fine. That's my 2 cents.
Sassy w/ a double assy. I totally recommend this spot for a great lunch. Portion/Price/Quality are right on the money. Oh, and if you haven't been to their happy hour yet... you are missing out. The Tuk Tuk is the goods.
Great!. Silk is a great restaurant all around...I always see that it's overpriced...yada yada yada...then don't eat in the pearl district!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful, if few, vegetarian dishes. If you're vegan, there aren't a whole of lot of options here, but those that do exist are lip-smacking. My fellow diner and I ordered the tofu curry entrĂ©e and the two vegetable sides â eggplant in a slightly smokey caramel-y sauce and baby bokchoy stir-fried with shitake mushrooms. All the dishes were exceptionally tasty and the eggplant was amazing. The portions were just the right size, not too big or too precious. Considering the reasonable-for-the-pearl food prices, however, the high drink prices surprised me. Maybe if it hadn't been a Wednesday, I would have splurged, but I had to pass on beer, wine, and cocktails. All seemed overpriced for a school night. :)
The #1 Vietnamese Restaurant hands down!. This place is very nice, clean and professional service. Oh yeah, their food is quality you can taste. I tried their beef salad (so tender), Baby Back Ribs and roasted duck. Nothing to complaint about it. This place is in its own class.
We had been to an event sponsored by Klout, a couple hours whereby Chevrolet was shoveling food and drinks at us to talk about their hybrid âVolt.â The event was held in the Pearl neighborhood, at a venue called Urban Studio . Catering was superb. Waitstaff walked around with trays of delicacies, like goat cheese tarts, sirloin on toast, prosciutto melon, and other treats. The cars were nice, too. We went for a walk, and turned into Silk , a Vietnamese bar and restaurant. It was about 8, restaurant was moderately busy, the bar side was not, and we took a table in the bar, ordered a couple drinks and appetizers. We went with the petite Banh Mi, hand-pulled pork, with pickled vegetables, on delicate crispy rolls.  Added the shrimp ceviche, 3 small servings on Asian soup spoons.  Mrs. Burgerdogboy asked for an order of âCrazy Noodlesâ, stir-fried rice noodles with chicken, boc choy, basil, red pepper, and egg, thinking she would keep these for br
We donât eat Vietnamese food enough. Pho VF changed our minds, part of a great afternoon shopping in Portland. Excellent service and tasty food all around.
Delicious Pho! The serving is huge that it covers you very very well! I don't think the photo I posted justifies how big the bowl is. Also highly recommend the savory pork belly steamed buns! Staff and service is wonderful as well!
Great decent food here. My friend and I came on a tuesday night for dinner (2021/08/17), steady stream of take away clients and the outdoor tables filled up quickly⊠the staff were super friendly and enthusiastic in explaining whatâs in what dishes⊠we had the basil tofu special, garlic wings, beef pho and crispy rolls. all so yum!! đđđ tho i think the wings could be marinated a bit longer before being cooked.
I could come back here for sure!!
Nice place with great flavors. They have a variety of options from bowls to pho to specialty plates and everything in between. I tried the Green Curry Special and it was so good. The flavors are bold. Great location down town. Service could be better though.
My husband had the Rahman with beef and I had the Vegetarian Pho with fried tofu. Both were delicious. The broth of the Vegetarian Pho was the most flavourful I have ever had with a non-meat option! Very friendly and helpful service. Highly recommend!
Great experience.
Had the special. Green curry with mussels. Probably the best dish of curry I've ever had, thus far. Mussels were perfectly cooked. Amaaaazzzziiing!
Also ordered the crispy roll rice bowl with chicken (normally comes with pork). Very good but not as good as the green curry with mussels.
Very nice ambiance.
It is a little dark inside though.
Amazing service and great recommendations on food by the cashier.
Seems like you order at the counter and pay then they bring out the food to you.
Price point average: $10
The pho noodles are great, the texture of noodle is a bit different from many other pho restaurants, which I like it a lot. The garlic sauce gives a unique taste of sweet and spicy to the wings. However, they make a mistake on my order, so I have to wait for 15 min. That's the reason I give 4 stars, but the food itself is really nice.
This is hands-down the best place for pho. I got their chicken pho and it was so flavorful and fresh. The chicken was so juicy and not overdone. Will be back anytime I am in town.
I want to believe that once, maybe before it became "fresh," that the pho from Pho Van was authentic; that the broth had been simmering for hours to get that rich, savory taste. I don't think that's the case, if it ever was. The pho is okay, just okay. Although I didn't thoroughly enjoy my bowl, I finished it anyway. The vermicelli bowl is a better choice. I don't know what the ramen tastes like because I would never, intentionally, order ramen from a Vietnamese restaurant.
But hey, they threw on the "Fresh" for a reason. If you want to grab a vermicelli bowl togo, this is the place to go. But if you crave a warm bowl of pho on a rainy day in downtown Portland...there are other places.
Got here about 1815 seated and ordered straight away was about 3 or4 people queuing half hour later seems very popular. Food was great big portions for me got a doggy bag. Really ice place to eat drink n chill out great service very helpful.
It's a bit weird to order ramen at a Pho place, but I prefer yellow noodles to rice noodles; and I love the Pho broth.
This ramen was as expected not like ramen, but rather just Pho with yellow noodles, and some extra taste (bit spicy and umami), so it was exactly what I hoped for!
They're generous with the broth and meat (which is super tender). If I lived here, I would certainly come back!
I donât know how they donât have 5 stars, the food is absolutely amazing, itâs hearty and warm while still be light and fresh at the same time. The flavors are very well developed and the service is amazing. All of the workers were ready to help, quick and had a smile on their face. The prices are very good as well you get a perfect amount for how low the prices are. Highly HIGHLY recommend this place :)
My wide and I haven't been here in a little over 6 years but coming back to Portland had us searching for this place.
The Brussels sprouts are phenomenal. It's all we really remember of the trip.
A lovely spot for lunch or dinner. I love the pho. The vegetarian and the beef are my favorites. The lemongrass chicken bowl with noodles is my summertime go to.
I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon this cute pho shop. The menu has plenty of vegetarian options, and the dish I ordered had lots of mushrooms! The atmosphere was modern, and the service was prompt. I would definitely come back here next time I'm in the city.
