First, you become all giddy with excitement at the quant restaurant with a large awning that allows you to sit outside and enjoy the summer weather. Next you're immediately greeted by a smiling waitress and a jovial gentleman who make you feel at home and set you at a table of your choice, since this particular evening wasn't too busy. Afterwards, water is served (and consistently replenished before it empties) and you get to salivate over a delectable menu of Italian dishes. They don't have much of an alcohol list, and it must be requested, as by default they provide a non-alcohol list and a wine list with your dinner menu. Fast forward to the food, and it is amazing. We shared an appetizer of ewe cheese and green olives, and were served complimentary fresh bread with oil and vinegar. For the main course, I had the opportunity of tasting their special of the day, a spinach ravioli with deep fried basil leaves. It was so fresh and light, but without any greasy feel to it. My husband had a thick pasta noodle with a light marinara sauce and Italian sausage. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of it, but it was delicious nonetheless. The dish that he had was paired with a red blend that went quite well with the meal. I wouldn't say the portions were too large, but were rather just right and allowed enough room for a dessert dish! We shared a cannoli that was so light and delicious. This was my first time having a cannoli so I was surprised when I tasted the mild coconut filling. The service overall was wonderful as well as the meal, and it was very reasonably priced. We can't wait to go back to try more of their dishes, dinners and desserts alike, as there were so many to choose from!
Bruschetta pomodoro was spot on! Meatballs were amazing! My son’s birthday penne bolognese was the best he loved it! Our lasagna was the best ever! My daughter in law’s pasta Della mare was great!! The entertainment even sang happy birthday to my son on his 28th birthday, what a great night! Benito thank you and we will be back and we highly recommend!! You won’t be disappointed!! ❤️❤️❤️
Great food! Good service. Very nice jazz singer. Portland is lucky. If this restaurant were near where we lived, we'd be huge! There were no complaints! We had minestrone soup, Caesar salad, beer salad, lasagna, bolognese, parpadelle, and ribeye. We lived the fresh parpadelle, but I loved the flavor of the lasagna. Eat there!
The wait staff was friendly. Had amazing food, wine, and dessert! Cute little place!
We had a wonderful dinner here last night. I could have stopped with the antipasto (is there anything better than perfectly grilled zucchini) , but of course I didn't. We had a great bottle of chianti at the suggestion of our server. I had the frutti di mare and it was near perfection. My husband had spaghetti and meatball which was simple and everything you would want it to be. The interior is small and cozy, but we had the place mostly to ourselves. The only thing I couldn't understand was why it wasn't packed. Great food and really personable, attentive service.
Excellent Italian food. The BEST Italian restaurant in Portland! Delicious authentic recipes, like what I grew up eating, in the Bronx. The restaurant is cozy, service warm and friendly. Do not hesitate to go here! Highly recommend!
The pasta was super special and their marinara sauce was light and delicious. And their sausage was spicy without being over the top. This is really outstanding Italian cooking.
Found this little place on Yelp and let me tell you, it was amazing, in a great little neighborhood. The service, the food, the atmosphere was just amazing. First time visiting and brought my in laws since it was their first time visiting the Pacific NW....we live in Washington but will definitely plan another visit soon!!!
Awesome food and awesome service. Didn't have a reservation but they got us in and it was worth it. Will be back.
Love, love, love!!! You must try this restaurant. Great food. Everything is cooked fresh and taste so good. My husband had steak and I had lasagna. The lasagna is so cheesy and stays hot the whole time you are eating it. The couple that owns the restaurant are very friendly and personable. Nice outdoor seating. Great atmosphere. We will come back again and again!!!
Delicious, Great eggplant, fresh tomatoes, garlic, Parmesan , angel hair pasta, bacon was lovingly fried, nice asparagus and eggs perfect!

Chef Benito does EVERYTHING to perfection. Perfect al dente pasta-my husband says the spaghetti and meatballs are to die for. The espresso is simply the best in town.
The food was delicious, sweet little place and everyone made us feel special. Will be back soon!
Stopped by for an early lunch with a friend and had their delicious antipasto and a yummy chilled bottle of rosé. Antipasto had a nice assortment and the grilled veggies were so good! Such a cute little space, and we were able to sit outside on the warmest day of the year so far. We'll definitely be back!
Delicious authentic Italian food, kind staff, and cute outdoor patio. The Burrata Special was particularly great.
I just had a date night dinner here with my girlfriend, and I cannot say enough nice things about the experience. The food was amazing and so authentic. The atmosphere was warm and made us feel at home immediately. The owner and staff are such warm and welcoming people, we will be coming back again and again, even if just for them. Thank you so much for a beautiful evening! Highly recommend this restraunt!
Very authentic and extremely affordable Italian food! Tucked away on the Division Street strip, with a vast menu of options to choose from! Save room for dessert, the tiramisu is out of this world!
Food was FANTASTIC! Service was as good as it could be considering how busy they were. Small place, be sure to make reservations! It was super awkward after not having been asked if we'd like to order drinks or even once having our water refilled to have the waitress chase us down for a bigger tip than the one we left. It wasn't a terrible tip. It was commensurate with the service we received.
This is a cozy restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Italian flavors and a homey atmosphere. We visited during the busy lunch hour but the staff was pleasant. We had the lasagna Al Forno and the Spaghetti with Meatballs. Both were elegant, flavorful and delicious.🤤
We really liked dining here. Found it as we were strolling down Division for a place to eat. Walked in without reservation (not recommended) but were lucky in that they were able to accommodate for two.
Ambience is very nice, staff is friendly and warm, location is great and service was timely.
We had the minestrone soup, gnocchi with creamy pink sauce (the special for the day) and the Scallopino di Polio (chicken dish). Everything was very tasty.
We wanted a nice-but-not-expensive place for dinner with friends, and Casa Italia turned out to be perfect. The menu has an extensive an old school, comfort food Italian experience. The only thing missing are candles in chianti bottles and two dogs sharing a plate of spaghetti.
Our group of four split a large Antipasto, and we individually chose entrees of linguini chicken marsala, white sauce lasagna, salmon, and pappardelle with Italian sausage. Everyone was happy with their choices. Each person in our group had different beverage preferences, so I was fine with one of the red wines by the glass.
We did not try any of the desserts on our first visit, but that just gives me something to look forward to on our second, along with further exploration of the pasta section of the menu. It was nice to see that they're also open for lunch, Wednesday through Sunday.
Literally the only negative was not related to the food so I'm not counting it against them (cell service is non-existent and they have no wifi).
The sauces are excellent. Everything is imported. It feels very authentic.
Much better than other Italian restaurants I've been to in Portland.
The food here is absolutely mouth watering and beautifully plated. The service is as sweet as their tiramisu and the lasagna is a work of art. They have wonderful wine pairings and a very intimate atmosphere perfect for a date. Don't sleep on this local prize of a restaurant. I will definitely be back!
So delicious and a pleasant experience. Prices are fair and staff are very polite and respectful. Really great menu! Small restaurant, reservations are recommended but they were able to squeeze us and others in when we arrived. Glad we came.
One part of a very fun evening with friends. We stopped in for dinner and grabbed the red blend off the special wine menu, ravioli and gnocchi. The food was spot on. I think we were lucky to be with friends who go there often. Cause we had a good chat with each of the staff. Happily going back!
Impressed doesn't even begin to describe the experience of Casa Italia, I felt like I left a hidden Michelin * restaurant. Got reservations for 3 adults within 30 mins on a Saturday @ dinnertime and the service was the best I've ever had. Every staff member was engaged & attentive. The timing & delivery of our beverages & meals were on point. The waitress was wonderful & the food was perfectly cooked. I got the lasagna which had fresh noodles, perfect temperature & my favorite touch was the bay leaf in the sauce. The salmon my friend got was the best either of us have eaten: crispy & seared on the outside, but juicy & flaked gracefully on the inside. The pesto sauce for the Gnocchi was *chefs kiss. Finally a restaurant that serves the right portions to be completely full & not loaded with filler foods nobody wants. Authentic, well-prepared & exactly what it's name describes. The only shame is that I don't live in PDX & will have to wait to have this amazing food again.
This is a great Italian spot. It is small and reservations are ideal for a large group plan to spend a couple hours. Everything is delicious and the entire crew was so warm and welcoming. Loved everything about this place. Well done.
The food was incredible - we got their signature Lasagna Bianca, a risotto, and a couple of spaghetti dishes, as well as a burrata for an appetizer. Everything was tasty and filling.
The staff is also super friendly, attentive, and willing to change up a dish for our liking.
Overall we had a 10/10 experience, looking forward to going back here in the future.
We heard about this place and weren't disappointed. It's the best Italian food we've had in a long time. The service was excellent, the food was great and it's a nice little restaurant in southeast Portland. We will be back and recommend to friends.
Food was great, solid service, and felt authentic. The wine was okay and will order a different bottle next time! Soup, dessert, and everything tasted amazing!
I was visiting from Kansas and had a craving for Italian when I stumbled upon this gem on Google. It's one of those places you see has good reviews so you just take a gamble and hope it's good. I'll be honest it was a little packed and the owner and staff were shouting across the restaurant at times with their beautiful accents but that all just added to appeal to me and I loved it. I got the vibe that most of the staff was family and you just felt like you were in their home during a busy family gathering lol! They had such an authentic atmosphere and I almost knew the food would be amazing before I even looked at the menu. The wine was excellent and the food was everything I expected and more. You take that first bite and you shoulders just drop lol you know what I'm talking about! Definitely recommend them to anyone wanting some great Italian in Portland.
05/2018: 4.5 out of 5 - I came here with my Wednesday Running Group after a grueling Mt. Tabor Park run at the suggestion of my wife.
The restaurant is quaint, cozy, and very clean with a wonderful glow about it. The staff were amazingly attentive without being intrusive.
The foods was made to order and came out the way it is meant to be served. The wine selection is wonderful, but lacked a bit on the beer choices, which is fine. Italian foods tend to go better with wine.
Depending on the party of people eating there, I can get a little loud to have conversation. However, it's a restaurant, they tend to get that way when people are with good friends and family.
If ever in the neighborhood or looking for good Italian, then I'd suggest checking Casa Italia. Try it out once and decide for yourself. Enjoy!
