Cool cafe feel with a great vegan menu. The dishes are delightfully delicious and very filling. Would have loved more fermented items! But maybe I have to go back and explore more. Arrived around 5:30 on a Wednesday evening and was pleased to see the place fill up steadily over the next hour. Staff are great, atmosphere is lovely.

Very delicious every time. We are always impressed by the amazing flavors and thought that clearly goes into each dish. Friendly staff, timely service and some of the best food in town! The burger is a must try and the specials are always awesome as well.

Great spot for some vegan fare. Our girls (4 & 7) love it here. Fermenter burger is exceptional. Whether you are vegan or not, this place hits the spot. If you ever see the miatake BBQ burger on the menu, order 2!

Lovely spot! Food was on point delicious, but still somehow healthy at the same time (that's my favorite kind of food). Friendly staff. Highly recommend the bowl with all three sauces. Kombucha on tap!

Friday lunch at Fermenter was busy, so food took a while to arrive, but it was well worth the wait. Everything tasted great (beet Reuben, kale-kraut salad, veg burger, pickle soup, and even the Kombucha root beer), portions were the right size, prices were reasonable, and service was friendly (despite the restaurant and its kitchen being slammed with the crowd). Will definitely return soon.

Aaron and his staff create a magnificent restaurant. You just can’t understand how amazing it is to be able to eat such marvelously crafted fermented food that sits so well in the gut, and somehow manages to feed the soul. This isn’t “burgers and fries”. This is comfort, health, morality, ethics, and genius.
Don’t believe me? Just go in and try a pickle. You’ll see the face of god, and he’ll coax you into a glass of artisan kombucha. Eventually, you’re going to make this a regular thing, if just to keep your cravings at bay.
And, when you’re ready to graduate to the next level… Make a reservation for dinner at The Workshop, and experience the next evolution of dining and brilliance.

We were curious about this restaurant and read the website. I read all the values and got emotional. It was incredible to see a business that is growth focused, self aware, and focused on impact.
We explored the food and drinks and found it different and unique. They were out of the Reuben which forced us to try something different. It was a new experience and we hope to return to try more and explore. I enjoyed the drinks.
Want to try the fermenter burger in the future.

I loved the food at this restaurant so much! Each dish has fermented foods and you can tell how much effort must have gone into adding such great flavors to each dish! Can’t wait to go eat there again!

I liked my oyster sandwich and the kombucha but I couldn’t believe they served big pieces of fresh kale leaves. Who would eat that? I thought kale had to be massaged with oil or dressing?

In a the city that has plenty of healthy gut options to choose from, it is hard to go wrong. Though, with Fermenter, you strike gold!!
This place is awesome! Food and drink here is unreal. Great location in the SE that has the tap house on one side and the the restaurant on the other, you're in for a treat.
Menu is packed with items that make your mouth water just reading them. On our most recent visit we had the Miso Apple Glazed Burger, Crunchy Ranch Salad, Fritters, Soup and paired it with a Water Keifer and Kombucha. Flavors were so amazing. When you take your first bite, you can taste truly how fresh every ingredient is. Feels like intentional cooking. Every ingredient has a place in the dish.
Great spot!! We will definitely be coming back for more. Highly recommend!

Really loved my first time at Fermenter. I ordered the spicy bowl, which wasn’t very spicy but offered a hearty kick and beautiful colors. The decor is simple, clean and warm. Service was quick and efficient. Went on a Saturday afternoon and got a seat at the bar- no problem. Can’t wait to try more of the menu and I’m definitely bringing friends.

Fresh and flavorful bites! Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. We ended up having a great time chatting up our table neighbors while we compared our yummy bites.

Their food is awesome! They sold out of a lot today and I was hesitant on the tofu sandwich-but it was amazing! So I’m assuming it’s all amazing! Customer service was priceless! I was having a rough day and couldn’t decide, so the guy taking my order offered to put the beer on the house🥰 Seems like one of those places you just want to visit all the time!

This place is incredible! Every single thing we got was top notch in terms of flavor, texture, and overall quality. That includes drinks. It all came out incredibly quick, as well.
The service was top notch, and both of our waiters were quite friendly. 10/10 would go again. Picture is the bowl with miso sauce.

One of the best Vegan restaurants in Portland! House brewed kombucha was AMAZING; Perfect level of fizz, not overly vinegary, sweet but not too sweet, and really floral and fruity. The beets Reuben was out of this world bc of the Koji they use, and the burger was great, too. Only complaint is their serving size for the side of JoJo potato fries was literally 4 slices lol for $4 that's a shame bc they were so good! Cookie was good but the raisins in it were unnecessary

The Fermenter Burger is soooooo good. As delicious and satisfying as any meat-based burger I’ve ever had, and more than most, and without the meat! Definitely worth a try…
