Best friend and I shared the kalua pig and teriyaki chicken plates - both excellent. The spam masubi is incredible. Their homemade teriyaki sauce in a squeeze bottle on the tables is one of the best I've ever tasted. First time in Portland and first time eating Hawaiian. Definitely recommend

As a frequent visitor to Hawaii my whole life I can say that this is almost as good as being there without hopping a plane! Great local fare in a legit kama'aina worthy laid back relaxed and friendly environment. Sunshine, surfboard and a fresh plate lunch and a longboard beer to compliment the vibe. Love this place! Check it out! The Kalua pig is FAB!

Friendly atmosphere. Outstanding cocktails. The food is like what I remember from Kapaa'. And they have shave ice as well!

Chicken katsu was amazing. Mac salad on point. And there's not too many places on the mainland you can get POG either.

Food was ok. I had higher expectations because I’m familiar with and cook Hawaiian food - this place did not have enough flavor. Mochiko chicken was good. My friends got tofu teriyaki and loco moco which were ok. I wouldn’t go back but nice atmosphere and service.

Really tasty Island style BBQ and Teriyaki. Portions were large and everything was delicious. It’s a cute “surf” style fast-casual dining room. The crispy Chicken and fried rice were both very good. Loved the Mac Salad too.

OH MY GOD if you are considering eating here, DO IT!!!! I just came in here absolutely starving and ordered the shoyu chicken sandwich, fried rice bowl with sausage and butter mochi. The sandwich was soooo good, unlike any sandwich I’ve ever had! So many flavors. And the fried rice 🤤 you need to try it. Butter mochi was weird though tbh

Another great spot for amazing food! We ordered three items and were extremely pleased with each dish. We choose the Shoyu Chicken Plate, the Curry Bowl with Fried Chicken, and a side of Pineapple-Cabbage Slaw. The Shoyu Chicken Plate came with deliciously marinated chicken, rice and macaroni salad. The chicken and marinade sauce are the star of this dish. 4.5 stars 🌟 for this dish. The Curry Bowl was amazing! The flavor of the Curry and tenderness of the veggies we superb! I could eat this Curry every day! And the added fried chicken was crazy thin, tender, and crisp! My only complaint is I should have ordered more fried chicken. 5+ stars 🌟 The Pineapple-Cabbage Slaw reminded us of an ambrosia salad, but the healthier option. We treated this as our dessert!

The mochiko chicken was the first choice I made and it was very superb. The ingredients are spot on and I had a great experience. The staff are friendly and I just love this dish. The green salad was even better.

Tied with Bamboo Grove for my favorite Hawaiian place in town. LARGE portions on the "plates". Teriyaki chicken has been consistently delicious, although the last time I went it was more chopped up than usual. (I like the big pieces with grill marks 😋) Mac salad usually isn't my thing, but theirs is pretty dang good, especially with a little teriyaki sauce (call me crazy...). Green salad = better than average. Curry = decent, but not as outstanding as the grilled meats. Pro Tip: get 1 canned fruit juice (guava, passionfruit), split it between two cups, then fill the rest up with sparkling water (free) from the soda machine! Now you've got an ice cold refreshing sparkling juice. Still fruity, delicious, and sweet - but not cloyingly so. 🔥🍔🤙

I've been having bad luck at restaurants in Portland as far as customer service and food quality go. Let me tell you something...this place is incredible! When I'm feasting on their delectable food, it takes me back to my week in Kona. The Mac salad has a very subtle twist to it. It's so good! Tonight was a big deal because I mistakenly ordered a to-go order from the other location. The employee, Ethan, must've recognized that I had had a hard day and allowed me to just get my order there rather than commuting to the other location and potentially missing my opportunity for a heavenly meal. Thank you again!

WOW! Brings us right back to Maui. The best loco Moco we've had on the mainland. Ground beef patty was perfectly crisp outside and juicy inside. Full of flavor. Gravy was fantastic. Teriyaki sauce and the grilled chicken thighs were just scrumptious. New favorite Hawaiian food for sure in PNW.

Love this place! Try it all; you won't be sad about it. The Korean chicken plate is pictured. I opt for double mac because it's THAT GOOD. It also comes with deliciously tangy kimchi. Slather all that goodness in Sriracha and you're good to go!

The food was delicious. I added the kim-chi to my fried rice bowl and it was so worth it. The meal was big enough for two meals or to share.
