The Chapel Pub is a great cozy Mcmenamins in North Portland. Nice specials and great drinks. Super friendly service. Lots of space. Nice little nooks with books helping set a great ambiance. Also the lights look like they could open a hidden door if move them. How cool is that?
This last trip I had my first pulled pork sandwich and it was tasty. My wife had a Gyro and enjoyed it. My favorite drink is the Blackberry Cider, my wife loves the 5th floor.
It seems that the most played Oregon game around is to seek out the next Mcmenamins you’ve never heard of. Portland has more churches converted into bars and restaurants than I’ve ever experienced. Most folks i grew up around would consider this a form of blasphemy but my faith relishes in continued life long after the pews have been abandoned for high tops, barstools, and booths. This place had me dreaming of Ireland and a few times I imagined a leprechaun had lost his rainbow here. The wood work was very nicely finished and there were more rooms and nooks and crannies than I had time to explore. If you like the Grateful Dead, then it’s played nearly every other song, which is fine by me since LoFi has taken over the new generation’s tender foot vibe. Well, this locale has been checked off the list and makes it into the top 5 for the chain’s historically relevant properties. I’ll return one day, some day, but not this week.
Beautiful atmosphere. Good food, good beverages excellent service. We ate lunch and it was quite. No stress environment. The decore is one of a kind.
A wonderful place for a date or even for taking your grandparents to. My mind just wondered from walls to the ceiling and back to the floor just talking it all in.
I had the Santa Fe rice bowl and loved every mouthwatering bite.
Vera Cruz tacos were great, and the service was tops.
We had a beer flight and a cider flight and paired it with Cajun tots. Absolutely delicious! Best beer and cider I had to in Portland! Hands down! Yes, I did try Breakside and Great Notion, but this place beats them by far! And the vibe is just amazing!
Gotta respect one of Portland's original brewpubs. Quieter than most of the newer breweries around town, but fine for families and to have a fairly priced meal. Cleverly repurposed chapel, with organ measurements on Thursdays. Fish and chips are solid.
This McMenamins has good views overlooking the Lloyd district. The service was friendly and fast and the food delicious! I really like how McMenamins seems to incorporate history into all or the majority of their establishments.
This is the best Mcmenamins in Portland, period. The location is absolutely smashing, an old chapel transformed into a pub. The interiors are amazing, all wooden, a fireplace and so many great books. Drinks are normal mcmenamins fare, with some specialty cocktails. I had the hot apple pear brandy, really warmed me up. I had a lot of fun here. Definitely recommend this particular location to everyone.

The two gals working the evening by themselves did the best they could and deserve praise for their hard work. I know how stressful it is after call outs and no shows. Thank you for working hard and I'm greatful for your service
Service was friendly and food was noms. This is a great date spot. I ordered the Portland dip with tots and the journey to Gaia beer. Sandwich seemed small at first but turned out to be perfectly portioned for me, with the perfect amout of jus dip. The beer tasted watered down and was nothing exciting. My partner ordered the El Diablo burger which had a nicely sized chicken breast and lot of avocado.🍔 He's big into super spicy stuff and said the habañero was not very prominent. Ambiance is cozy with low-lighting, a woodstove and there are plenty of ornate fixtures like wrought iron curtain rods and intricate brickwork to stare at.
Cozy venue with dedicated parking.
Staff were friendly, your typical McMenamins menu.
Only notable part of location is that one of the entrances is actually the entrance to a business office and not the restaurant, they do a good job of making the pub entrance with signs.

Have been here a couple times and this is one of my favorite Portland locations. Food is always solid! Drinks tasty! Decent service but for me my fav part is the atmosphere of the location. Cozy, warm and feels like a home away from home. If you like McMenamins give this place a go. You won’t be disappointed
Great place to meet family And friends. Good food, beer, and service. Consistent food, music, and atmosphere.
Very nice location with great service! As with all McMenamins, it’s either hit or miss, this one is definitely a hit! We’ve been to at least 30 of their locations, and this one was one of the best so far. Thanks to our waiter, Tiger, he was very nice and polite.
The food was good but the church was fantastic!! We sat by the fire place that made the whole place smell great and distinct. The organ was phenomenal. Such a piece of history that actually came from a church in Seaside that was older than the actual church we occupied. Loved the potbellied stove too. The outdoor seating was beautiful but I was really feeling the fireplace. The staff was helpful and pleasant as well. If you get a chance, be sure to try the Hungarian? Mushroom soup (like a thick porridge). It was out of this world 🤩
What a curious spot! An old funeral home that still has that atmosphere intact without feeling morbid or dark in any way. The bartender was top notch with my farmhouse coffee and old fashioned. The house salad hit the spot to get me through a red eye flight a couple hours later. Definitely going back on my next trip to Portland
