We have been eating here for 25 years and every time is a treat. Breakfast Lunch or Dinner. Everything on the menu - especially breakfast entrees and fish specials - then the pepper steak sandwich is a scrumptious delight.
My favorite restaurant in all of Portland. I've been going there for years and years.. Yesterday, I had my cousins from Santa Barbara, California, with me. The wine was delicious, and the food spectacular. We took advantage of the scallops on the menu. And my cousin Pat had the French onion soup as well as the steak sandwich on a baguette. Absolutely delicious. Service is wonderful, food is amazing. It is a spot not to be missed!
The best food you'll ever eat! It's a great place to go and have a relaxing meal.
Absolutely amazing!!!!!!! food was to die for service was excellent funny and entertaining can't wait to go back again literally would have had seconds 5 seconds after my Fork was put down but other people were waiting to eat so I decided not to be a slob
The food is amazing and has changed my view of French toast. The staff has always been attentive and even when they are busy I don't feel ignored.
Thank you for the great meals.
I've been eating here for years and have never been anything but ecstatic about the meals. Last breakfast was halibut and wild mushrooms with omelette and fresh fruit. Walked out and searched the neighborhood for property to purchase...
I have eaten here for 20 years and the food is great, as is the service.... I went in yesterday and was very saddened to learn of Lydia's passing as she's become a good friend over the years. RIP, sweet lady.
Great food, quick service & a wonderful atmosphere! #greatfind
Great food great service and given time for family conversation- like France
This is an amazing little secret place tucked away on Macadam. The peppered New York steak is mouth watering and the French onion soup is by far the best in Portland.
Best food I've had in a while! Super yummy! Great service!
Best breakfast I've EVER had!!!! So amazing!!!!! #supportlocals
I had the crab omlet! It was awesome. Mike, Josh and gang are the best!
My buddy took my wife and I here for brunch after we finish our hike. He been here before and recommended it for lunch because he said their French toast is amazing. This is a mom and pop type of breakfast place so it's not well known. When we arrived, he parked on the street and they seated us in their tent dining area. My friend went with their French toast, my wife got the scallops and mushroom omelet and I went with their French waffles. The size of my waffle was pretty big but I don't think it was worth the price of the food. The syrup I think they give with it is sugar free because it wasn't sweet to me and the French waffle had a plain taste. My wife and my friend enjoyed their dish. Our dish also come with the side of fruits but it was only like 2 pieces of orange and 1 strawberry. The service we received here was amazing, our waiter was attentive to our table. If you dine inside the restrauant, the second floor dining room will remind me of eating back in the old days. They only have 1 bathroom here so be aware of that.
Loved the simple atmosphere here. Food was delicious. If I hadn't tasted my son's French toast, I'd be gushing over the creamed spinach omelet. Get the French Toast at least once. Service was proficent, tho nothing special in terms of info or friendliness.
Lovely cafe with friendly staff! The food was exactly what we asked for and more. I really enjoyed the House special French Toast. The lemon custard was perfect between the bread. The house hollandaise was delightfully simple. Hefty portions on each plate we definitely had some to take to go. Will be happy to return!
Fantastic place for breakfast! Most especially I recommend the French toast, easily my favorite French toast I've ever been served at a restaurant. The omelets are also amazing. Everything was cooked to perfection. Portion sizes are good, and prices are reasonable, especially for the quality of food you're receiving.
The best breakfast we've had since we moved to Portland. We ordered the french toast and a crab omelette and both were really great. Staff was busy, but still friendly. Felt like a really classic neighborhood place. The staff knew everyone who came in. One visit and it's already on the short list of where to bring visitors to Portland. Can't wait to go back.
Hot damn that is a delicious salmon benedict. The muffin was nearly as large as my head. The relaxing covered deck makes for a great breakfast experience.
Nice and cozy restaurant in SW Portland. Their menu was leaning towards eclectic. I just got the appetizer and some coffee. But the stuffed fig was delicious. Bread was on the house, Coffee had unlimited refills. Their entrees were pricey for sure.
They had a decent amount of outdoor seating with gas heater towers and overhead heating. So, this place is ideal to dine in during winter as well
Overall a nice cafe to visit on a weekend
Strawberry muffin toasted to perfection, veggie frittata topped with Asiago cheese, delicious hash browns. I would definitely return if I lived nearby’
Nice variety of seating here. Very warm outdoor patio, indoor, and second floor seating.
The food was very nice, and the location is ideal since you can quickly walk across the street to the waterfront.
Holy smokes I was blown away by breakfast! Simple menu with items they’ve perfected and friendly service. The peppercorn gravy on my steak was phenomenal. Definitely in my top 5 for breakfast in town, made even better by having reservations.
Nice local mama and pop kinda cafe.... We had the traditional eggs Benedict and the spinach omelet.. Both were good... The spinach omelet is very rich but tasty... The Benedict didn't have the traditional slice of Canadian bacon. It was topped with deli ham.. The service was a little slow considering there was only 4 tables...
Comfortable and relaxing outdoor patio seating under foliage was nice
Old school French Vietnamese food that is expertly prepared, painfully delicious and delivered by sweet and knowledgeable staff. Cute old house, order mochas, creamed spinach omelet or French toast from heaven...but everything is excellent! Wow.
Just going here for the French toast alone is worth it. It's custard-like texture is so perfect and the flavor is outstanding. The Eggs Benedict was good. Coffee was tasty. Bacon was thick cut and cooked nicely. The ambiance on the outside deck is lovely. The only thing that could use some work is the service. I didn't feel that warm friendliness of Portland. We were asked how many in our party, seated, had our food delivered, and got our check. I'm not saying the service was poor. I'm just saying it wasn't five stars. I would encourage a more engaging experience to get patrons to want to re-visit. Overall, we were happy with our experience.
Having been several times, the service is consistently friendly, and the food is always better than expected. Classic French menu, recommend the sea scallops and roast lamb.
My absolute favorite breakfast spot!! Nothing I’ve tried has not been good, but the French toast is what will keep you going back! Husband opted for the peppered steak and eggs this time and loved it!
Absolutely fabulous. The hostess was so sweet and accommodating. The French toast didn't even need syrup. Eggs Benedict perfect. The hash browns excellent. Was our first outdoor dining covid experience. 10 stars.
We picked this place on a whim, and we're so glad we did! The food is amazing, and service was just as amazing too. I got the mushrooms and scallop omelette, and he got the salmon benedict. Our coffees were filled constantly, and everyone is so nice and welcoming. We ate outside in the heated covered patio, and there's lights and vines everywhere. We'd love to try the rest of the menu eventually!
