Kale - Portland - Photo album

Kale is a great little Japanese restaurant and is a short walk from the Saturday Market. The food here is simple and very tasty. They have 4 curry options, I tried two and was very impressed. The restaurant is pretty small and very limited seating. Not very handicap accessible seating except for 1
Good Japanese style curry. Great portion, neither too less or to much. A great thing I like about this restaurant is its location or atmosphere. If you come here during sunset there’ll be plenty of natural light through the window, making your food bright and shiny. The restaurant is so close to t
The employee was very friendly helpful and attentive. I had the Chicken Katsu w/ Chicken Kalé and a side of roasted vegetables. The Chicken Katsu was done perfectly, and the Kalé sauce had a mild spice to it which was lovely. The rice was perfectly done. Vegetables were nicely roasted semi-firm and
Excellent authentic Japanese curry. I stopped by shortly before closing having heard that they specialize in Japanese curry and was not disappointed. Oh this place is so so good, I've only ever gotten the Katsu Kalé Doria with Baked Chicken, and will probably get it often in the future. It feels like such comfort food, it's really delicious. I liked mine with extra rice. Make sure to get the Japanese waffle ice creams for dessert, those are amazi
Delicious curry. We get the beef curry with katsu on top. Beef is tender and flavorful. The katsu is moist and crispy. Tastes like it was imported from Japan

The atmosphere was really cool and there were a lot of seats available. Would go back again and a

The food was so delicious. For a place that really only serves curry, it makes sense because it's the best curry I've ever had. You can tell it's freshly made because it feels so hearty, smooth, and filling. The chef/owner was also amazing :)
