The cinnamon pancake is the best pancake in Portland. You have to try it.
Seasoned tofu as the veg protein option is great, I think it’s delicious and this spot is definitely great overall for those with allergies and dietary restrictions. Relatively cheap as well, a bigger breakfast and espresso drink will run around $20/pp,
Only L is i wish they had a sugarfree coffee syrup. Overall is a spot worth checking out and I will continue to go back! :)

I highly recommend the Portland Skillet. Baked tofu, roasted potatoes, spinach, mushrooms, bell peppers; I ordered it without onions (not my favorite vegetable). It arrived topped with house vegan gravy and a side of toast. Be prepared to take home leftovers. I also recommend the Chai with oat milk.

This is a great cafe and quite popular! I loved the scramble and French toast. My husband tried several of the skillet options, he enjoyed them all. Overall, the food is amazing and the customer service is excellent!

I’m from Seattle and I always come here for breakfast when I’m in town. They serve breakfast Friday-Monday. GO EARLY if you’re going for breakfast on the weekend because there is always a wait for a table but it’s worth it. They have vegan and non-vegan options. The coffee is great, espresso is delicious. The art on the walls are for sale and made by local artists. The Portland skillet is my favorite and the cinnamon roll pancake is heavenly.

This place is bomb! The food is so delicious, probably the best breakfast I have ever had. Vegan options are incredible, I had the Portland which is tofu, potatoes and veggies topped with vegan gravy. My hubby had a traditional breakfast and also thought it was the best ever. The housemade jam is a must, can't even describe what happened when I tried it! We were just passing through Portland but I am so jealous of the people that live here and get to go to this place routinely. The service was also excellent, the staff was incredibly kind. We sat outside with our dogs, very dog friendly. I've never had trailblazer coffee but it was really fabulous.

The staff here are all so friendly it's tough to say which I like more, the delicious food or the excellent service.
I once had a waitress follow me out because I forgot my to go box! Bless!
The eggs Benedict is great. The Belmont skillet will feed two. I recommend the home fries vs the cheesy hash. The seasoning on them is perfect.
This place gets crazy busy though, so get there before 1030-11 or expect a wait, especially on weekends.

Amazing affordable food! Yummy coffee and a lovely start to my day with such a kind and caring team! Shout out to Oliver in the kitchen! I got the veggie biscuits and gravy- delicious!

10 star experience!
It was our first time getting brunch here, and I am so glad to finally have tried this place!
Loved the wonderful, friendly staff. They were so nice and accommodating.
Now the food! So good! Everything is packed with flavor and made with love. Try the cheese hashbrowns!
Mimosas, Bloody Mary's, and Lattes available. Compliments to the chefs!
Family friendly, and dog friendly.
Felt very comfortable and safe with COVID-19 implemented seating outside.
This place is my now go-to brunch spot!
Thank you!

A delightful breakfast cafe! Had the Golden Goat omelette with chevre, zucchini, tomatoes and green onions and it was delicious and SO fluffy. I usually prefer scrambles but this omelette delivered! The breakfast potatoes could have been a bit crispier in my opinion but they were tasty all the same. The service was very good. Would absolutely come back again!

The food was fantastic and on a busy Sunday we got sat fairly quick. Our server Lucretia was fantastic and even offered some things to do in the area since I'm not from the area. Such a good experience ill definitely go back.

The food was amazing, staff was friendly, and I would def recommend. Show up early to get your name on the list, but the wait wasn't long, even for a Sunday at 10 am. Bring a hat -- some of those tables get direct sun and will bake you 🥵

Wet to the reopened Cricket Cafe today and received absolutely superb service from the wait staff. The new menu kept a couple of the good items, such as the Rising Sun. It added some good new items. I was very happy that they had no problem and customizing my order. The item I wanted, I forget the name, was a 4 egg omelette that had the hash browns on the inside and was covered with pork gravy. I asked to have the hash browns on the outside, and to hold the gravy, and was told no problem. The potatoes were great and I was happy they were on the outside so I could enjoy them with the aardvark hot sauce that is provided on each table. Even though the list of sides and Extras did not include A1 pancake option, I asked if I could add one pancake to my order, and to make it a blueberry pancake and was gladly accommodated. The pancake was light and fluffy, and bursting with wonderful juicy blueberries. I had my coffee cup refilled about five times. They constantly checked in to make sure that everything was good. I give it 5 stars, and I think the new owners will succeed. Everyone in the neighborhood and from Beyond could visit the reopened Cricket Cafe!

Great gluten free options, family friendly, good service and fast! They were very accommodating for me, my husband and our very messy 14 month old son.

Went in today for their soft re-opening! So excited that some local restauranteurs picked up this neighborhood staple and brought it back to life!
I love that they kept the decor pretty much the same, aside for some touch ups on paint. The local art on the walls was thoughtfully presented and entertaining to look through, as always. It was a bit chilly inside, but that's been a long-standing issue.
The espresso drinks we had were well made with high quality espresso.
I had a skillet (I believe the ranchero?) which was a re-imagined version of my old favorite dish. It was well flavored and beautifully presented!
My father's dish was delicious, but had so much grease that quite a bit of it had separated out and formed a layer on top. However, it was one of the heaviest dishes on the menu and probably better suited to nursing a hangover than a casual breakfast.
All in all, I'm thrilled to see one of my favorite spots in Portland getting back on it's feet.

Wonderful dining experience always. Great neighbor spot. We love you 💕

Get here! The food is phenomenal. I ordered the vegan scramble that has a DELICIOUS poblano sauce on it that totally put this dish over the top. Don’t worry, if you’re more carnivorous they got all the meat you need. This place is sure to have a tasty dish that caters to all tastes!! Oh, and the coffee was worth every penny!!

Great place for brunch! They have a great selection of brunch meals and mimosas. The wait was only about 20 min, not bad. Really nice staff and they are quick at what they do. Definitely recommend this place.

Amazing food!! Even the fruit bowl was spectacular! I'm on crutches at the moment due to a broken ankle and the bathroom was up several stairs. The staff were so sweet; they offered to help me get around another way through their back door so I didn't have to struggle as much! They even took the time to open doors for me! Everything was way above the standard...

Oh my..the truck driver burrito was to die for. No extra sauce needed. The flavors were excellent!! So worth the wait on a busy Sunday!!!

I told them it was the best breakfast I have ever had and I meant it! The menu was awesome, the server so sweet. I think the owner was helping because she was busy, that's awesome. Perfect eggs benne, hash browns, pepper bacon, oj and coffee. Good job guys!!

One of my top ten favorite breakfast/brunch spots in Portland (and that's a hard list to make!). I'd recommend a few menu items, but everything I've had there was fantastic, so order whatever. You won't be disappointed.

Great drinks, and breakfast (I haven't had lunch, etc). Breakfast burritos are super good and generous. Bacon and blue omelette- amazing. Great crew; worth the typical Portlandian breakfast/ brunch wait time which can sometimes be 20minutes. Coffee served outside, while you wait, to get you all fired up to sleigh the tasty food.

My 4 yr old son asked for blueberry pancakes shaped like Luke Skywalker. Our server said she would put the request in with the cook. When the pancake arrived it wasn't shaped like Luke but even better, it had the rebellion sign made from powdered sugar on top it was perfect!!!! Great food...Amazing staff! What more is needed!?!?

The biscuits, the coffee, and our server were all first rate. Our grandson devoured his pancake and eggs, so that's a thumbs up, too!

Visiting from Colorado! Breakfast was delicious. I ordered the Lumberjack. Super tasty great thick slices of bacon and loved the gravy. The food came out fast and the staff was friendly. We will be back again in the future, thanks!

Here from out of state visiting our kids and grandbabies. Went Cricket Cafe for breakfast. The food is amazing and you will NOT leave hungry! Small quaint corner restaurant, and if you have to wait for a seat, they offer complimentary coffee outside! Very friendly staff. Just another great little gem in this amazing city of Portland.

Incredible food, big portions, amazing Bloody Mary's and pint sized mimosas! What more could you want!?! The Saints Hash with poached eggs will have you in awe with your first bite and is sure to leave you completely satisfied! The Bloody Hot Bonnet is the best spicy Bloody Mary in town!
Mark Nelson
First time back in 10 years (only because its usually too busy to get in). Still the best scramble in town!
Philip L. Welch
I had their French toast and then I took back everything I ever said about hipsters.

The chicken Asiago had been my favorite for years.... great as always.
Finn-Erik Burke
Best hash browns ever! Can't wait to come back here during my next visit.

Where are the staff working now, so we can go see them? We miss CC a ton.

Love this place! Betsy's Demon Hatch is the perfect BLAT and Co. accompaniment.
