Always reliably the best Dim Sum in the area. If I am on the Portland side of the river, I make it a point to come here whether to eat in or take it to go.

UNBELIEVABLY GOOD! And the service is really excellent. Always busy because the dishes are artfully prepared and SO tasty but the turn is worth waiting for. Go with a group so you can get a table with a lazy susan.

Amazing Dim Sum & more. The Dim Sum selection was excellent (Although I missed the duck feet, grrrrr). I could easily put on 10lbs here.

On a second visit with friends we shared a bbq palte of pork & pork belly that was delicious. The Walnut chicken looked doubtful, but was simply amazing.

Gotta go back

Similar to Wongs King. Excellent and CHEAP dim sum. It's nearly identical to Wongs King (and was founded by two former Wongs King employees) except it seemed like there was a few different dumpling selections. Cheap, fast, delicious.

Excellent All Around. I've been to Ocean City several times now, always for Dim Sum. The place is always busy, bustling, and loud with satisfied customers. The restaurant seems to be a favorite of families, women with small children, and old people alike. Real people who like real food in an atmosphere without pretense.

The prices, like the service and cleanliness, are wonderful and constitute a happy surprise. The owner is friendly and interested in her customers' satisfaction. There may not be hundreds of different kinds of dim sum items, but all of the items available are absolutely excellent, fresh, fragrant, and delicious. Very high quality food and staff.

The dim sum was fresh and tasty. The lai sa bao (it looked like a pineapple bun filled with a custard) was the highlight of the morning for me. It was soft bun was fresh out of the oven and the topping was crisp but didn't crumble everywhere. The other items like chicken feet, tripe, shu mai, and beef rice rolls were above average. The shrimp dumplings were small though... The service from the waiters were lacking (extremely difficult to get our teapot refilled with hot water), but the ladies pushing the carts were nice. I would definitely return for those pineapple buns alone - there were several tables that ordered 3 or 4 plates of them!

For the quality and amount of food your dollar goes a long way. I went here on a weekend for Dim Sum and was blown away by how popular it was. It’s reputation is well deserved and I will come here again. It also has two thumbs up from the two chefs that I live with. The place had a bit of character and the servers were hard at work circulating throughout the room. They were quick to answer specific questions and had a decent system to handle long lines.

UPDATE 01/20/18 Came back and the service was fast and attentive and very friendly staff. Positive vibes and hard workers. Dim Sum came out Hot and Fresh First time here for Dim Sum. It was good, not too salty dishes. Service was good for a place like this. -1/2 ⭐️ we had to ask for our waters after sitting for 5 minutes

It's a great place to have Dim Sum dishes in Portland. It offers a large selection of small plates that meet almost every kind of dining preference. It can get pretty crowded during the lunch time on weekends. So, either avoid the peak hours or expect some waiting. There are app(s) for signing up on the wait list before arriving the restaurant, which should make it easier.

Hmmm... I could have sworn I'd written a review of Ocean City long ago. Despite continuous change on 82nd and on Division, this remains my favorite for reliable Dim Sum. The carts are well stocked and make the rounds very quickly. We never have a problem finding old favorites as well as newer, "that looks interesting" selections. Like pretty much all Dim Sum places I've visited, I never have any kind of idea how much the total bill will be, but it's always a reasonable amount when I take the check up to the counter by the entrance. I've never had a problem getting a table right away, but most of the tables seem to be occupied when I visit, so clearly I'm not the only fan of this place.

Food is really good, prices are GREAT, overall really solid dim sum! Pro tip, for less experienced English speakers (and the money conscious) ask for a menu as you are seated. Waiters don't tend to come as often after serving you so be sure to ask for everything you want at the soonest opportunity! Menu with prices and options is attached, so you should be prepared! Only issue is lack of service, as long as you don't need to go anywhere in a hurry and are flagging down wait staff, then it's completely worth it!

Great dim sum with lots to choose from! My advice is to get the picture menu, the regular menu, check the specials board, AND space out your orders because I guarantee that you will see something not listed before the end of your meal!

Posting this just after the COVID mask mandate ended... I'm so glad they made it through! The great dim sum here hasn't lost its touch. They're not doing steam carts yet, but the waiter dropped off a menu and tea, then we picked what we wanted and he delivered it. Steamed pork buns, chicken feet in black bean sauce, eggplant, sticky rice, sesame balls... It's all the same wonderful stuff and served fresh, just like always. Still highly recommended!

Went for dinner, walked in and it was empty, immediately I hesitant, but I wanted to give my girlfriend from the west coast a dim sum experience. We sit down and a very friendly lady takes our order. Food comes out and everything was out of this world, crispy juicy Peking duck, with the skin glistening like gold. Fresh fluffy soft buns , and the dumplings were incredible. I highly recommend this place. Don't let the ambiance fool you because when we sat down we noticed there were tons of to go orders!

I thought the food was very good and there are so many things to choose from. They go around to your table with all sorts of options too choose from and each cart had different choices. We also ordered duck (which was good and some greens which was apparently part of a pea pod like the plant itself. Anyway that was very good also and would have both the duck and greens again. Most of the dumplings were very good but I couple I did not care for, but I think that is just a personal taste preference. The place is very busy (when we first got there it wasn't busy at 11a but by the time we left the whole place was full. Oh they bring a pot of tea for the table. I think that is complimentary but I am not positive. They staff was very friendly but some of them did not understand English very well. It helps to go with someone that is acquainted with Dim sum as if I would have gone by myself I would not have known what to order.

Ocean City is our go to spot for dim sum. The dim sum dishes are all good. Don't miss the custard buns for dessert. The filling is awesome. The best thing is that you usually don't have to wait too long. I can't wait 40 minutes to eat like at other dim sum joints. Service is okay. The waiter refilled tea for us without me having to flag them down. It's dim sum. Don't worry about the service.

Amazing food. Traditional dim sum restaurant featuring push carts to order from. The food was fantastic quality. The restaurant is clean but slightly dated. Service was good but due to the demographics English speaking families may have a harder time ordering than those who speak some Mandarin or simplified Chinese. If you can get past a language barrier it is a must try for Asian cuisine lovers.

We were too busy eating to take pics sorry. It’s been tough to find good dim sum with a short line in Portland. Ocean City had about a 15 minute wait to get in, and it was worth every second. Super fresh dim sum served from carts, better than the other 4 places we’ve eaten at before. Very affordable, about $15 per person including tip.
