I've dined at Sinju multiple times and they deliver excellent quality everything 100% of the time. It's expensive, but they have an incredible happy hour menu. I prefer sitting in the bar or outside - the atmosphere is very chill. The bartenders make some generous martinis too.

Stopped in here for drinks. It was a sunny Saturday, yet their exterior seating is really in need of some heaters. Bar side of restaurant is lovely and maitre d' was polite and efficient. Drink menu is varied and vast. We ordered lavender oolong tea, NW berry Cosmo and a sinju margarita. Drinks were great! The sinju margarita had a kick that would blow your hair back, it had sriracha and Thai chills. While remarkable on its own I think the list of meals with which to pair it might be limited.  The NW berry Cosmo was luscious but not too sweet, just berry delicious.   The tea started well but in that it remained steeping while we talked due to the type of tea pot provided, it went bitter after a bit.   Food at other tables looked great, it is definitely on the list to return for the meal.  Service was not very responsive, I will hold judgement til our next visit where food is involved.

A Taste of Japan. Having spent many years in Tokyo, I am happy to say that Sinju truthfully recreates some of the most authentic flavors. Unlike many pseudo Japanese places, Sinju ("Pearl" in Japanese) actually puts a good amount of dashi in their miso soup, the heart and soul of the broth. Most other places are just plain miso salty. And the yakitori here tastes just like something you would find in Japan - a nice char and a teriyaki glaze with only a hint of sweetness. Good job - happy to have this gem in town.

This used to be one of my favorite sushi places. Now I think I like Mio sushi better. This place is nice, staff friendly. The rolls were a little expensive for the quality. It's still really good sushi though. Top 3 in Portland.

My daughter and I often go to Sinju just to start off with the AHI TOWER...Tuna tartar in sesame oil base over crab & creamy wasabi sauce, avocado on sushi rice. It tastes as good as it looks and it always looks amazing

Great tasting Sushi! Higher quality sushi accompanied with a slightly higher prices. Service was a tad slow, but we did eat during the dinner rush. I would recommend if you like sushi! Also, beware that when they charge your credit card the charge will appear higher than what your bill. Their overdraft protection adds about $10 on your bill while pending instead of just $1 like most places.

This place was criminally empty when myself and colleagues dined here. Attentive service from wait staff, the bartender came over to personally check on our specialty drinks, as well. A+ customer service, and STELLAR sushi. I ordered three specialty rolls (which was way too much) and everything was delicious. Beautiful decor, and they have specialty private rooms you can book in advance.

Great sushi. Nice and relaxed atmosphere. My server, Patrick, was great. Last time I was there, they had a spicy margarita on the menu which sounded good but which I did not care for. Patrick had warned me about it and offered to exchange it for something else when I said it was "...interesting" but I declined. If I'm ever in Portland again, I would not hesitate to come back!

This is the BEST sushi in Portland, maybe the entire PNW! We look forward to dining here whenever we come to town. The chefs and staff go above and beyond to make it a special experience. Trout belly is a special treat they do perfectly!

Very very good sushi! The ramen was excellent as well. The plates are quite large and (in my opinion) should be shared between people . Everything tasted amazing and the noodles were just right.

Delicious, fresh and somewhat unique dishes. Friendly staff with great recommendations. Classy meets classic homey Japanese atmosphere. Highly recommended for a date night or a family that enjoys trying new takes in traditional foods and sharing!

Attentive service although the restaurant was empty so if it was anything less then I would have deducted a few stars. Food was good and it didn't take too long to arrive. The sushi tasted pretty fresh, a bit better than other sushi places I have tried.

This was a great experience. We had a office meeting/outing and my employees suggested this place. We reserved the private room, and we all loved it! The atmosphere and the decor were very elegant and comforting, and the food and the staff were beyond my expectations, especially with a large party. We we definitely be back, very soon!

We love Lance, our bartender. This has become one of my favorite places to hang with friends. We always go to the bar and hang with Lance. The service and the sushi is great! Wine and sashimi will win me over every time.

Love this place! The sushi is always great, and so is the service. I've been going to Sinju Sushi in Clackamas for years and the Portland location is just as good. If you've never had Sinju Sushi, then you're missing out!
