Absolutely love, the Tacos I had yesterday. I will go again and tell a friend!
It was difficult to choose from the many food pod choices but finally decided on a Korean twist burrito and didn't regret it! I had the spicy chicken burrito with no rice and added Kim chi. It was delicious and not too spicy at all. Next time I will ask for more go chu jang hot sauce! The lady was super sweet too-great service!
The bulgogi burrito is FANTASTIC--best Korean food I've had in a very long time. Just be careful--I ended up with sauce all over my shirt because it came out the bottom of my burrito, and I didn't even care. It was THAT good.
Most Impressive.... Their Bulgogi Burrito was the runaway winner of all the items we sampled from several different food carts in downtown Portland today. And everything we tried was freekin' fantastic...
Korean-Mexican Fusion. On the menu are Korean tacos, burritos, a rice bowl and even a kimchi quesadilla. While you can order à la carte, they have the menu setup as dishes, so you get a full meal. I ordered the taco combo with bulgogi beef, spicy pork and spicy chicken as my 3 tacos. All were outstanding and had a hint of sesame oil for a great blend of flavors. The sides of fried rice and salad rounded out the meal. Great value for the money! Cash Only.
The tacos from Korean Twist were so good that while I was eating them I was already planning my return to the cart to get them again, or try something else. The meat in all three was exceptional, but the bulgogi was exceptionally delicious. The super spicy sauce was a great contrast to the creamy "mayonnaise sauce", the crunchy bean sprouts and the delicate bite of cilantro.
Then when I would tell someone else about it, they would say, “YES! We love that place.” So we had to add it to the never ending list of places we need to visit. Thanks to Lisa, a local blogger we bumped it up on the list. We met up with another contact I have made through this blog, Jordan, who really wanted to take us to Korean Twist. This is the same Korean – Mexican food twist as Koi Fusion . Since I really like Koi Fusion, I knew I was going to love this place. We ordered the Spicy Pork Tacos. Now we like spicy, not super spicy, but give me something with some kick and I’m gonna love it. I have to say these tacos lived up to what everyone was saying about them. I looked over at my husband at one point and he was literally drenched in the sauce. It was on his face, his hands, he was practically dripping it on his lap. I
Great vegetarian tofu bowl!! So tasty and the lady is really friendly. Affordable for how much food you get too.
The bulgogi burrito was to die for! The meat was well marinated/seasoned, and all of the veggies and flavors came together perfectly. The staff were very friendly and quick too. Will absolutely be coming back! I would have taken a photo but I ate it too fast (:
Their high average rating is well deserved. The food is delicious and the service is friendly and prompt. My favorite item on their menu is the bulgogi burrito, which is the best I’ve ever had. And their prices aren’t bad, considering how much everything costs nowadays.
This place did not disappoint.
We walked all over downtown shopping and decided Korean was gonna be it for a late lunch. It started to drizzle so luckily the food came out fairly quick. The area has some “unsavories” but we were not pestered.
I ordered the tofu burrito and it was huge and filling for $9. The kid had the bulgogi plate and said it was good. We shared yakisoba and had leftovers of that for later. The yakisoba was not oversaturated in sauce which I liked; however, if you prefer a more bolder taste in your noodle you might be saddened. My burrito had lots of sauce built in, so the noodles provided enough blandness I needed. With that being said, I didn’t need to order noodles but thought the burrito wasn’t going to fill me. Well it did. I should’ve stopped halfway, but it was so good I forced myself to eat it all.
We walked the 10 minutes to the car in cold and slightly drizzling weather and the food was still warm.
Be prepared, there are a lot of homeless in the area asking for loose change/dollars. Many were talking to themselves. I give them vendors credit and will continue to support them.
Best food around. Non exaggeration. The amount of flavor inspired me to be a chef. I didn't know food could be that good. It opened up new avenues of possibility.
Must try!
I don't live in Portland, but I dream of this place after eating there just one time during work travel. One of the best burritos I've ever eaten and I think about traveling to Portland in part just to eat more at Korean Twist!
I just stopped here randomly and was pleasantly surprised with a very good rice bowl. In the picture that I posted I got the bulgogi and the spicy pork. The bulgogi was perfectly done with all the normal flavors. The spicy pork; they did not shy away from the spices they used. 10 minutes after finishing my mouth still has a good twinge of spice.
If spice is scary to you skip anything that says spicy there. If you want it hotter I'm sure they can help you out.
It was a nice little touch adding a couple of fried potstickers and the salad wasn't bad either which is usually my biggest complaint when getting rice bowls.
This place is barely more expensive than Chipotle at least 20 times the value if for no other reason other than you would be supporting a good local business. I look forward to hitting this place up in the future for some super quick takeout
My favorite food truck downtown in Portland.
The spicy pork burrito is my go to menu item.
Great food, very imaginative and flavorful. The only complaint you can get it only if you are unemployed. The working hours are so limited. I tried to get it multiple times but only had it once when I was new in town and had no job.
Back before I went full remote, the Spicy Chicken Yakisoba was my bad day / good day treat. It's super delicious and a healthy amount of food. Plus they are super friendly. A Cart worth seeking out!
Wow this burrito is THICC, and so delicious. Great value and flavor. And the pot stickers were some of my favorite I've had in Portland. If I lived in this area of the city I would come here all the time. If you're near these carts don't overthink it: just get you some delicious Korean fusion.
I love this place. Delicious food and the owner is so nice!
Waiting to meet with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and needed energy. Korean Twist is a surprise in hiding. Everything about the Bulgogi Burrito is surprisingly unique and delicious. Cool, spicy, and satisfying.
This burrito is built for 2!
Rent a bike, roll through downtown PDX and support Korean Twist on 5th!!
😁
Great food! Tried the spicy pork burrito, some grilled chicken yakisoba and rice with tofu. Things were made amazingly tasty, fresh and reasonably priced. Would definitely go back!
Amazing! My son got the Bulgogi tacos and he said it was hands down the best tacos he has ever eaten. Very clean as well.
You won't be left down eating here. One of my all time favorites, Rice bowl, spicy chicken (it's not too spicy), pot stickers. Yummmm!!
This is such tasty & well done food!! The consistency is top notch, fresh ingredients, kind owner, and always something to look forward to.
Very thankful to have found the Hawthorne location and look forward to trying their others. Thank you.
I got a Veggie Burrito Bowl and was not disappointed. It hit the spot. I totally recommend!
