Nice restaurant, serving McMenamins craft beer, seltzer and wine. It's just one room, space so maybe not as magical as some McMenamins locations. I enjoyed a flight and a pint. Friendly staff.
This was a last-minute lunch pick, and it was a great decision! We had a Fireside Roasted Turkey sandwich with Cajun Tots and an Aztec Salad with an IPA.
Our waitress was very polite and friendly. She answered all of our questions and made us feel welcomed. The beer flight was flavorful, especially the Thirsty Viking IPA and the Terminator Stout.
A charming and welcoming atmosphere with delicious food. The location is great with a nice large patio we'll definitely be back to enjoy. Ou server was friendly and the service was prompt. We had the Portland Dip and the Patty Melt and both were fantastic. I highly recommend the tots (truffle is the best!). Scooby snacks are always a great starter, especially with the Portland mustard. I have also had the gyro, burger, and Ruby Ale at other locations and also enjoyed those items. Our server was also kind enough to make me a raspberry milkshake to go. Thank you for a great lunch!
I was looking for a close place to eat, and this fit the bill. When we got there though, they had these great-looking bowls that I wasn't expecting on the menu, and since my first one, I've had three. I thought it was going to be all burgers so this was a nice surprise and like I said, I've been back several times.
If you want good food and quick friendly service, this is a great option!
Tasty burgers and brew! The Hillsdale location has a smaller, community feel, consistently great service and a cozy atmosphere. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area. We’ve been to plenty of McMennamins, large and small, and this one is a winner.
Considering how understaffed restaurants currently are, I'd say they're holding up ok. We had no wait getting a table, the wait staff were great, even with the long wait for orders to appear - we assumed that the big sign outside offering a hefty bonus to whomever fills the cook's job was the reason, and so won't complain about that. The food was fine (fish tacos & burgers) and patrons few enough that it felt safe during our visit. Thanks for hanging tough everyone!
All the McMenamins locations are fun. Their food is consistent across all of the locations. So it’s a little generic. Nothing is bad it’s just there’s no speciality towards one location or another that would cause you don’t wanna go in there. Good old, traditional pub-food.
Which location has her own ambience in what you want to see or can’t see while there this one is close to where I live in as a nice spot just like any other McMenamins.
The waitress was friendly.
We sat outside on a beautiful afternoon and the ambiance was great.

Typical McMenamins, food was OK, service was OK, beer was good. Smaller parking lot, but location is easy to find. Nice local pub vibe. Very good happy hour menu, better than most with plenty of options.
It's another McMenamins! Fun fact: back in the day, this used to be a Skipper's, putting paid to the idea that the McMenamin Bros just restore grand old properties. Anyway, this is another fine place in Hillsdale, but nothing particularly groundbreaking. If you want a brewpub with a bit more neighborhood flavor, try Sasquatch, down the hill a ways and over the bridge.
Stopped in for a beer n share some tacos with my hubby and finish our passport page to earn free beer and growler...yummy food, great beer and friendly service what more can ya ask for?

If you are in need of a straightforward and relaxing place to grab a bite of comfort food, McMenamins Hillsdale is a great choice. I have dined here dozens of times and the food is always satisfying. They have a great selection of burgers, sandwiches, and salad. My personal favorite is Wilbur's Jumbo Deluxe Cheeseburger. Pro Tip: No matter what you decide on, always order Cajun tots for your side. They also of course have McMenamins ales and wine available, which is usually a hit with the 21+ crowd.
Recently I ordered to-go food, which I was satisfied with. I love dining-in and ordering a beer on the patio, but that is not an option at this time. Nonetheless, this McMenamins is taking hygiene seriously. They have turned the entrance into an order window, and all employees are wearing personal protection equipment. However, they don’t have a way to order online, and when I tried calling the line was busy. When I ordered straight from the window, the food was ready between 15-20 minutes, which wasn’t too bad. Yet, they were also out of a soda and Ruby ale, so I had to make some compromises on the fly.
Overall, I am glad to be reunited with a great burger and Cajun tots. But I really hope they come up with a way to order online soon. This would be so much more efficient, and would allow customers to better prepare for when certain foods and drinks are out-of-stock.

Best service for our party of 9 yesterday. We didn't call ahead, and it was late for lunch- maybe 2:40...
So thankful to the wonderful man who served us. And the cooks who made a delicious meal. They didn't know, but we all were taking a late lunch from going through our recently departed dad's things, and it was a lovely meal. Thank you.
Good food and service. A bit on the $$$$ side (two glasses of Coke, a very good chicken sandwich with Tater Tots ran just a bit over $20.00). But inflation so no disrespect.
Good bar food. Friendly staff.
Had a good dinner. Good burger. Good beer. Our server needed more help than she got. They need at least 2 servers on the floor when it is busy. But other patrons need to be aware when a server is waiting on a full restaurant by herself instead of acting like she is their personal server. I thought the large party sitting next to us had that attitude. Thanks Jayne for your hard work
