Chalino - Portland - Photo album

The fusion of flavors is to die for. The tuna with green sambal is tender and the flavors blend perfectly. Sangria with shiso leaf has balance and the berries were perfect. The fried kale with fish sauce and bacon is a staple. Musubi with house made sweet chili sauce is perfect. I recommend this pla
I am so happy they offered the Burger of the Week! With a pork based patty and fish sauce as one of the ingredients, it was truly creative. It was also well worth the price. I sat at the chef's counter- it was fun to watch and count how many times they washed their hands.
Immediately one of my new favorites. The scallops were outstanding, and I could eat endless 6-minute eggs. The chawanmushi is comfort-food AF, with the current mapo pork topping. Great orange wine, and a whiskey cocktail that works pretty well as a desert. Go here, order everything, and enjoy.
The food was very good. We went through most of the menu with a table of four. I had missed the fried kale from the original location. The drinks were also delightful. My traditional Old Fashioned and Sazerac were expertly crafted. The OG Whiskey was a nice twist for a holiday style drink. Flavors o
Came in for drinks and dessert, everything was delicious! Will definitely be coming back for dinner sometime soon.
Beautiful, modern space hidden just a half block off of Williams. Excellent bar - definitely worth ordering a cocktail. All the small and large plates we ordered were original and delicious. The smoked porkchop and fried yucca were the stars for me. Skip the lame chips and salsa starter, and other t
I visited with a ground of friends while I was on Whole30. I was expecting to be content with having a cup of tea and chatting with my friends, but the server and chef offered to work with me on revising dishes so I could have them. We ended up with a seared tuna with avocado and tomato, along with
Great food, love the outdoor seating in the courtyard. Great drinks. My favorite dish was the zucchini, highly recommend! Love that the chefs are also the servers, so they can answer any questions you have about the food.
Oh my gosh this food was SO GOOD. We got the happy hour Mac and cheese and Musubi and they were SO yummy, perfect blends of flavor and texture. For dinner we shared the veg kimchi pancake and the nori risotto which was absolutely fantastic and such a creative combo of flavors. And dessert might have
I've been to Chalino several times for dinner and enjoyed the food and the service. This week I went there for lunch with a friend. As usual the service was great. Additionally, I had a chicken sandwich that was memorable. Tasty, great texture and a Mexican flavor. Yummmmy!
Great neighborhood restaurant! They use bold flavors and interesting dishes. Very good stuff! The drink program is great as well. I like sitting in front of the open kitchen and chatting with the cooks.
Wow. This was some of the most fun, interesting and delicious food and drinks I’ve had recently. We loved everything. Don’t skip dessert. The warm mochi cake with yuzu curd and blackberries was incredible. Excited that they’ll be doing brunch soon.
Brilliant food! Complicated made comfortable. Every dish we had was delicious and inventive. Wild combination of flavors and perfect texture. Cannot wait to go back!
Food was pricey for the small portions. We were expecting Mexican food but it was more eclectic. Interesting options. It was tasty though. Cocktails were good.
The food here is well thought-out, beautifully put together, and obscenely delicious. Everything is perfectly cooked and seasoned, the drinks are wonderfully balanced and the space is comfortable and inviting. You can't be disappointed walking out of here.
Awesome modern take on Mexican flavors. The staff is great and super friendly. The food is meticulously put together. Would definitely recommend Chalino to anyone looking for a relaxing and delicious date night.
