Shanghai Tunnel - Portland - Photo album

Fun bar with great atmosphere. Love the dimly lit basement with glowing lanterns and pinball machines. Friendly bar tender. Some nice beers on tap. RainierĀ in bottles. Fun cocktails. The zapata (house made chips and queso) was good.
One of the first bars I ever came to in Portland. After 10yrs it is still amazing. The food is surprisingly good and the drinks are nice and strong. To gat to the actual bar(not pictured): Walk through the empty bar at street level, walk down the stairs in the back and enjoy noodles. FYI: There ar
Nice friendly folk despite the constant abuse from drunks, vagrants and annoying bar hoppers
Definitely a cool spot to grab a drink, has a nice grungy feel to it and does not try to hide any of its wild style or aesthetic. Fun time in downtown Portland and right next to the trolley if you want to pub crawl.
The best Non west coast IPA I've ever had in my life. Is that irony? Anyway great place back in 2005. Wait time machine? Do they still offer those Ramen Bowls right at the bottom of the stairs? And have the pinball machines for loners like myself? Bel Haven Twisted Thistle if you were wondering.
Ultimate downtown bar crawl location. We love stopping by here downstairs for some cocktails and hanging out as the night pushes on. Some fun food options as well to nibble on so it's great to load up before getting loaded on drinks. Highly recommend.
Every time my friends and I visit Shanghai, we are always treated like family. The staff is incredible, the downstairs bar is cozy and well spaced out for all kinds of entertainment, and everyone who visits always seems to make the bar even better. I have never had a bad experience when I've visited
We went to the Haunted Tavern experience in the basement. We had a good time, great cocktails and hard real "haunted" Portland stories. I would recommend it if you're interested in the dark history of Shanghai in Portland.
Bartender named Dragon was super welcoming and accommodating to my silly drink orders. He made a great red beer and was personable and sweet! Had a great burger with a mountain of French fries. Greasy and delicious! The whole place is pretty neat as far as ambience and I would definitely suggest ch
Popped into this place after it was recommended to me so many times. Aside from being an amazing bartender and culinary artist, Mitch is hilarious and one of the coolest guys. Be sure to grab the three dollar mystery shot, ours was surprisingly delicious. We also got to try the vegan corn dogs, vega
Post shifties are nice. Reasonably priced dive.
Brock is by far the best bartender I've ever met. He's hilarious and sure does know how to make a drink! I've only been a few times, but if Brock is there I'll 100% stay for the night. They squeeze their own juices and I've never had a drink that compares. I would strongly recommend this place!
Pros: Food Drinks Pool Cons: Price -Food- Food here is probably the best food I've had at a bar, except for maybe bars with a pizza oven. They make all sorts of interesting dishes and they are all rather good. -Drinks- They make the best drinks in town... well the one bartender I've always had ma
Food is amazing, but the staff... I love these guys! They handle themselves with such dignity and class. They are not afraid to cut off drunks or kick out rowdy a**holes. As a young single female who moved far away from home, this is where I come for a night out. The staff really looks out for their
Great show on Monday, July 3rd 2023! Look forward to more
Dope spot for a late night drink. On a warm night the outdoor seating is clutch. Look for the little red lantern!
