This is the best kept secret on 22rd for sure. Special Banh mi sandwich with the spicy mayo this is my new fav spot in town. The bread is so soft and flaky and veg crispy, this sandwich is off. The. Charts.

The cashier was not very friendly.. but the pork banh mi... 😍 and the rose petal milk tea. Yum! Don't care for the "sexy" illustrations of women for sale in there. I find it is unnecessary for the venue.

Their lavender earl grey boba tea was heaven. The art inside the shop is also amazing and made by local artists.

Excellent drinks! Best bubble tea my wife and I have found in Portland. It's on the sweeter side, which we prefer. The place itself could use some personality in its decor, but the drinks or worth coming back for!

This little spot is on 23rd Street located down some stairs (not really sure if handicap accessible). The servers were nice and the ambience is very casual. I got Jasmine milk tea and it was very strong and flavorful. Would recommend the teas. Was not feeling the boba pearls itself as it was overall bland and flavorless. However, I've noticed this trend at other boba shops in the area too so I wouldn't say it is a particular feature of only Fat Straw. Coming from the Bay Area, I'm more inclined towards sweeter boba. Still, Fat Straw has good teas and worth a visit if you're local.

Great smoothies and milk teas. Tons of boba and flavor options. Breakfast sandwiches(served all day) are made with perfect French bread. Lines can be long but usually moves pretty fast. It's warm inside too, as no A/C, but don't let that deter you! Inexpensive as well(drink and sandwich for ~$10) and everyone is always super friendly and helpful.

It is a trendy place, with comfortable indoor seating. The line was a bit long even around 4 O clock, but still only 5 minutes. The flavors are amazing, though people who enjoy Thai iced teas will be off put, as their Thai flavor is slight off, more syrupy than you would expect. Other than that, perfect for a hot day.

I am a bubble tea fiend and Fat Straw is my favorite spot! I go to the one on NW 23rd. The girls there are super friendly and always willing to suggest new fun flavors for me to try. I've heard the vietnamese sandwiches are great but haven't tried it yet for myself. My favorite flavors are white peach or jasmine green tea. I highly recommend any bubble tea lover (or coffee, or sandwich lover) stop in and give it a try!

I think I’ve found my go-to boba place in Portland! Which is obviously a necessity. This place came highly recommended by friends around the area, and I can definitely see why. Even coming from somewhere like Los Angeles, where boba stores are on every single block, I can appreciate the drinks they had at Fat straw, and the choice of having coconut milk as a non-dairy option was really a nice touch, and the coconut milk went well with the rose milk tea that I ordered!

I love this little boba place! Maryem helped me and she was incredibly kind and helped me pick an amazing drink! She was willing to cater to my preferences and was quick and efficient. Mention her if you go there! Fat straw is a nice and trendy boba shop that simply makes delicious boba.

This place is in my top 3 for bubble tea in all of Portland. They have delicious lavender milk if you are into florals. 23rd is such a fun street to walk along, and I love being able to chew on some Boba as I window shop. Another great flavor of milk tea is the honeydew.

Pro: Actually serve bubble tea I like Cons: Basically no seating -Actually serve bubble tea I like- I like black tea... actually I love black tea. I do not like all these extremely sugary bubble teas that other places have, but this place serves a black milk tea and I love it. -Basically no seating- The place is really small, and they get a lot of customers. I often find that I have to wait for seating.

Good fast boba and smoothies. It's down the street from the popular ice cream place so was a great alternative. They have a variety of jellies and boba flavors. Reasonable price and enough space to sit, hang out, and meet with friends.

Best bubble tea. Bubble tea masters quickly prepare your order. Worth the wait. Almond and coconut and strawberry-coconut iced drinks are just a few faves . A 23rd street must on a hot day.

Great milk tea and boba selection, including a variety of jellies and poppers. Gets pretty busy in the summer, but the wait is never long, and you can usually find seating in their hip urban seating area.

Delicious drinks. My favorite is the lavender iced milk tea with boba. The Banh Mi is to die for so definitely try it! Most people don't know what it is and just get drinks so do the miss out. Popular with the middle school crowd and young adults/teens perusing on 23rd (I am/was one of them). Nice owner and quiet in the morning though.
