Wow, I'm so happy we came here. There was a long line but we were seated quickly. They have 3 options and I had the Bun Bo Hue (I want to come back for the beef noodle soup). It was so much food, we were all so full. We were all so happy as well, it felt like the right place to eat Bun Bo Hue. Since it was a Sunday afternoon, there were a lot of family's. The art on the wall and wood decor were a nice touch.
Only 3 items on their menu - bun Bo Hue, beef pho and chicken pho. That's when you know they have quality items. This restaurant has been recommended to us by 3 people - all Vietnamese. And being Vietnamese myself and missing my mom's home cooking, I've decided to finally try this place out.
My bf and I ordered the bun bo Hue and the beef pho. They both were rich, flavorful and it was a very hearty meal. We just worked out in the morning so it was a very nice post work out treat. Would recommend.
Service is quick but other than that they just leave you alone. That's when you know you're at a legitimate viet place when service is barely minimal but food is top notch. 😂
They only have Bún Bò Huế (Hue Style Noodle Soup) and there are no menu to look at. It taste alright not good as I expected.
Great place to eat.
They only three dishes which are their signature: beef pho, chicken pho and spicy beef stew noodle.
Tried their spicy beef stew noodle and totally satisfied.
Service are fast and friendly.
Interior decoration are pleasant.
Minus a star for a nasty men restroom.
Don’t go the restroom before eating, you may lose your appetite:-)
The noodles were SO delicious. They only have three items, beef pho, chicken pho, and bun bo hue (spicy beef) but they are done to perfection. Flavorful, rich, and perfect for a cold day. Service was great and the atmosphere was fun.
Nicely decorated Vietnamese restaurant in a small plaza. Very clean with friendly staff. Read other reviews before coming in so knowing they have only 4 items. It’s about $17 for the bun bo hue and beef pho each, on the expensive side but you get the quality for sure.
OMG, I need their bun bo hue twice a day, every year!!
Visited this gem to get some legit bun Bo hue, but maybe my expectation was too high so the bun bo hue didn’t really surprise me. However the portion is really good, with a lot of 🥩 . But my friend said the pho bo is great, maybe I will try that next time.
05/10/21: 4.75 out of 5 - Came to Tēo as a recommendation from my sister-in-law since we had a guest in town who wanted Bun Bo Hue.
We were pleasantly surprised about the restaurant.
Upon entering it's intriguingly inviting. Really enjoyed the entry where there is 3 Vespas under the signage. Pretty cool look of feel of the place.
The staff were quick to address us and to get us situated quickly. They were very nice, attentive when needed, and quite informative. Not snooty, and definitely not full of non-sensical attitude which has been my experience in many Portland eateries as of late. This was refreshing to see people who wants to actually provide great service.
Not sure if this is because of COVID, but there is no menu and there are only (3) items:
Bun Bo Hue, Beef Pho and Chicken Pho. Great thing about the Chicken Pho is that it's with chicken broth, as it should be. Not with beef or pork broth like so many other Pho restaurants.
We got one of each, and they were all very tasty. Great ingredients, great portion size, and I will say it again...very tasty. Definitely worth the try.
I honestly would have like to rate Tēo higher, but there's room for improvement. Would like to see if there will be a menu and if there are other items to try. Will have to come back and see.
If you are in the area, I would definitely suggest stopping in and trying it once and decide for yourself.
Enjoy!
Still the best Bun Bo Hue I’ve ever had! The meat and veggies / herbal are always fresh! Soup base is very flavorful. I also love their iced Jasmine tea! Bun Bo Hue has blood tofu, pig hock with bones, tendon, beef, sausage.
We traveled from California to Portal and Seattle. Everyone in my group agreed that this is the best restaurant in our road trip. Their BBH brought us back to life after the long drive. We have some background working in Vietnamese restaurant so when we say it’s good, it is truly-really good.
I had the Bun Bo Hue. I began eating with my chopsticks. I would grab a piece of meat, or some noodles. I was nonplussed.
Then I used my spoon to get broth or broth and meat into my mouth, and my eyes went wide with wonder. The broth is so tasty! and the meat, tendon, and kidney tastes delicious in it!
It was not particularly low fat, but very unique and delicious. I asked for it spicy and added all the chili peppers they gave me and it was not too spicy, even though I only like somewhat, not very, spicy.
This restaurant was included in Eater's 38 Essential Restaurants Oct 2021 list.
there’s no menu in this restaurant
there are three options: chicken, spicy, and beef
i had a beef pho, and it tasted amazing
was completely different from the pho had before
the portions was decent and the amount of meat inside was satisfying
the side dishes has banana tree flowers, it was my first time trying it
Had the beef pho… it was good! Place is clean and server was very helpful. Love how they served me complimentary jasmine tea when first seated.
We got bun bo hue, both spicy and non-spicy versions! Even with a low spice tolerance, the spicy bun bo hue didn’t taste spicy at all! Everything tasted good and everyone there was super welcoming with a beautiful interior.
Very limited selection here. But perhaps that's why it's good. They have the Bun Bo Hue, spicy noodles and the chicken pho. Both are very good. Definitely would come back. As good as they are, I am surprised that they are not packed. Not sure how long they have been opened and maybe its because they are tucked away in a little corner.
Plenty of parking in front, so no worries there. Bathroom is shared with other units and you need a key. Pretty well kept and clean. The restuarant itself is pretty modern looking and very clean. Staff are actually Vietnamese and speak fluently. I would say the bun bo hue is lacking a flavor that I cant put my finger on. But it's still the best I've tasted in Oregon so far.
Definitely worth crossing the bridge when i am not tight on schedule!
Just 3 items on their menu, but they're all amazing! I usually come here for the bun bo hue, but I've tasted their hearty beef pho and chicken pho - both of which are delicious! The veggie sides are generous and the atmosphere is nice. 😊
