One of the best dining experiences ever! Ryan and his team are creating art with food and dance around like a well choreographed dance bringing delicious bites non stop. Ryan makes many trips to the PDX airport to pick up fresh fish from around the world for an incredible meal. Highly recommend.

I don't think there were anything on the menu I didn't like which makes it so hard to pick a favorite. The wagyu beef with caviar though... I had to close my eyes and savor it until I couldn't taste it any more. I'll leave it at that :-). Everything from presentation to service to palate... it is an experience everyone must try.

Incredible. Sushi that you dream about. Fish so fresh, so flavorful. Each dish different and an explosion of unique flavors. Service was impeccable. The ambiance made me feel like I was no longer in Portland. Simply amazing. Go! Go! Go! You should have went yesterday. ;) The hardcore sushi was the dinner I attended but I can only imagine all of their dinner creations are phenomenal. The only thing I'd ask of the amazing staff is to print a dinner menu. I would love to have a list of the delicious things I ate and as a souvenir from this wonderful night. Otherwise, it was perfection!

I've now tried all dinner options. They are all different in style and presentation, and all equally amazing. There are far too many amazing bites to describe, so I'll just say, go and find out for yourself. P. S.: Japanese eggplant with avocado... That is all.

What a great dining experience at Nodoguro - a 19 course omakase served and curated by chef Ryan Roadhouse and his lovely and friendly wife Elena with fish flown in from Japan. I liked everything, and if I have to pick favorites, it would be the Hokkaido bafun uni, highest grade of sea urchin (my first time and LOVED it), ikura, geoduck, fried Japanese eggplants. The other items we had were: Wild Aji from Chiba, Hokkaido Sea Scallop, Wild Saba from Kanazawa, and isaki from Fukuoka. You should definitely visit - it's fantastic, Ryan and Elena are lovely people, and it is a great experience.

I had a great time at Nodoguru. My biggest complaint was that my friends wanted to converse with me whereas I just wanted to be alone during my food worship.

One of my favorite, most inspiring dining experiences ever. And I lived in Tokyo for two years. I hope to return with friends.

Everything was phenomenal. Despite the western twists, which totally elevated each course, the dedication and care to each element and ingredient brought me right back to Japan. This was so great. Thank you for a wonderful experience, and see you next month!

Wow! Definitely have to come try this place if you like sushi and an intimate experience. The food was amazing from start to finish. The service was superb. When you walk in you are greeted with some sake and receive attentiveness throughout the whole meal. Would highly recommend this place for a date night! We will be coming back!

Simply amazing, 22 courses and 8 of them were "best thing I ever had"-level stuff, 8 more were really excellent, & the other 6 were merely very good - nothing remotely disappointing. Easily my new #1 restaurant in Portland, and tied with a 3-michelin star place elsewhere for #1 all-time (both have a 25/20 on my scale). Highlights were the burdock with smoked black cod, japanese eggplant, raw scallop/soba/caviar salad, earthy fig soup, toro hand roll, king salmon nigiri, chili crab with salmon roe, honeycake.. can't narrow it down, will be dreaming about all of those for a long time. Service and atmosphere were wonderful too. One of the best ways to spend $250/person, certainly. For reference I have this ranked above Tercet, Le Pigeon, Normandie, Kann, and Langbaan, and of those only Normandie really compares when it comes to goodness per $$

Wonderful traditional Japanese style dining. I will remember to skip lunch next time I go….one if my favorite restaurants in Portland! The sake/wine pairing is totally worth it. There were some new exquisite dishes that blew my socks off and the uni was the best I’ve ever had!

Very intimate omakase experience - had the Blue Zone experience. Delicious food, well minded experience and great hospitality. Website is slightly unclear about how to book the tasting menu and MLM products can be advertised sometimes but overall good experience!

Really enjoyed the special new year dinner menu at the end of January. The new space is cozy and the setting is intimate with only 15 seats. The food and service was top notch and I would highly recommend Nodoguro for special occasions and splurges. There were several parties there for birthdays in the night we went!

I had the pleasure of going to Nodoguro with my partner for our 10th anniversary and the experience from top to bottom was well worth it. The initial walk in to the restaurant was already very cozy and intimate feeling, with the music, the lighting, and the seating with other patrons. We ended up having very nice chats with another couple sitting next to us and with the folks working at the restaurant too. The employees were super nice and helpful! I usually eat food quickly and it’s not often I have a meal and think “wow I wish I would’ve taken a picture too to savor it later too” but just about every bite afterwards gave me that feeling. I had the drinks pairing to go along with the meal and it went together perfectly! I feel like I also need to really emphasize how cute the plates, bowls, and cups they use are. Everything definitely feels lovingly picked or crafted in some way. I want to make it a tradition to come here every year as an anniversary treat. Thanks for the experience!

This is hands down the best dining experience I’ve ever had, period! And that’s saying a lot for me since I love going out to eat. We went here for my birthday and it was the best birthday present that I’ve ever received. The fish was so fresh, I loved hearing the interesting stories surrounding each ingredient, and you can tell that a great deal of care goes into every single bite. I used to say that I’m not an uni fan, but this experience changed my mind. Guess I just hadn’t had uni as fresh as this! We opted to do the additional sake flight which I’d also highly recommend. After dinner, I sent an email asking for the menu, which Ryan kindly typed up for me. He didn’t have to, and I really think that shows that he cares. I can’t wait to go back here once they are back open, but for now I’m awaiting my bento box that I’ve ordered for Saturday night. Thank you Ryan and team!

Hands down the best meal I've ever had in my life. Chef Ryan has a perfect understanding of the flavors of the fish and meat he is serving and the staff are a joy. We ordered some flights of sake and Rachel gave us a lovely description of the flavors to expect from each instance, which elevated the experience of each tasting. If you're in Portland this is a MUST!
