West Coast Bento - Portland - Photo album

Went here on a whim when no other place was open for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised! The chicken was cooked well and had good flavor, rice cooked right too. I had shumai and gyoza too, both of which were properly cooked and had good flavor. The price of the shumai and gyoza we're excellent comp
Excellent place to eat been there once will b going from here on out don't care how far I gotta drive guy there super friendly excellent customer service a must gooooooooooo.....
Tiny little bento shop that you'll notice from the smell when you walk by. The cooking meat smells excellent, so I popped in to try it. I have tried a couple different meats and it's exactly what you're looking for if you're craving this type of meal. Just rice and some meat on a skewer for a great
Dan's Bento spot is awesome! He makes great food. Never disappointed. I'm not really sure how there are any negative reviews for this place to be honest. His service is great and so is his food. The consistency is excellent.
Love this place since way back in the day when it was near NW Flanders, now on NW Thurman. Just recently back and it’s a great inexpensive lunch. The meat is grilled just outside on a the iconic red grill, straight forward and delicious for at least 30 years now. Customer service is great.
Idk what the ppl who left negative reviews expected. Menu is simple and food is too. But simplicity isn't bad. They know what they're good at and they stick to it. No frills, just meat and rice. And a lunch for under $10? Can't beat it. Owner was friendly. People in there have been coming for years.
I stumbled into this spot i wasn't to hungry but i seen the bao's and had to have one or two and some pot stickers i couldn't resist and glad i couldn't because they were very tasty and fresh as could be.
This place is a fantastic value, just under $10 gets you a tray of rice and a skewer of meat. I recommend the lamb, but it's quite popular so you'll want to call your order in ahead. Also, you'll just want to call your order in ahead so even if there's a line, you aren't stuck choosing from what's a
I live in the neighborhood and have walked by this place for years. Today I tried it and wish I would have done so earlier! The bao are soft and filled with delicious meat and the bento with rice was to die for. Do your self a favor and support this little local gem!
This is by far the best Bento that can be found; it has been for over thirty years! Do yourself a favor; try it.
Amazing lunch choice. Hot, healthy, easy, and full of flavor. I have been coming here since the West Coast Bento beginning in the 1980’s. Really, really recommend getting to know this food.
Small and unassuming place on NW Thurman Street. Offers a small menu consisting of Chicken, Lamb, Beef and Curry Bento, and potstickers and steamed buns. The interior, filled with old artifacts from Japan and South East Asia, gives a nice touch.
Ive been buying lunch here on and off for the last twenty years. I am never let down. Support this local bento icon. Always delicious, always freah.
I've been going to West Coast Bento since 1988. Dan's menu is small but everything is delicious! A great value and healthy meal!
Get the beef! The chicken can be very dry... The vegetable curry is also good, preferably with a beef or lamb kabob on top. Limited seating. Zero seating in the rain.
