You used to be able to find hospitality everywhere in Sellwood. If you miss that feeling, stop on by and visit Ben at the Moreland Ale House. He is hospitable and genuine and generous. Need more? Food is great, awesome selection of bevvies, and they have plenty of screens for games, trivia nights, etc.

10/02/2021: 4.50 out of 5 - Came here after a Saturday run with my group. Everyone was in agreement in trying a new place. We were able to sit inside for brunch. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much. Moreso, after getting my cup of coffee. However! When the food came out out, we were all pleasantly surprised with the food. It all looked nicely cooked, plated well, and most importantly, it was VERY TASTY! Great prices for the most part, too! The service at the Moreland Ale House was just spot on. Attentive, not intrusive, but all-around friendly service staff. Moreland Ale House is spacious and very clean. I am picky establishment person when it comes to cleanliness, but very big on looking at the vents of a place. Despite the coffee needing to be better (maybe I should have had a breakfast beer 😂), everything else under the roof made it worth the visit. So, if you are in the area, give Miranda Ale House a try, and decide for yourself. Enjoy!

This place was cool. I was worried at first but then acclimated quickly. Everyone was nice, the table next to us we're part of a sports team and they were happy. The servers and bar folks were super cool and on top of their game. I was impressed, especially when things got busy. That was my first time there - for burger week.

We walked in and were greeted by the bar tender who was very friendly and helpful. He was great to chat with while waiting for drinks and food; very personable. The food was exceptional and relatively quick. The spicy chicken sandwich was so good, not overly spicy 🔥 The tater tots were done to perfection. Great beer selection on tap, everything from IPAs to Sour beers. We were able to sit and hang out and catch up over drinks without feeling like we needed to leave right away. I highly recommend stopping in!

The Moreland Ale House- helping us answer important questions like, why are Americans so fat? Great burgers and fries. Had the Burger week special and it was amazing. So hard to get a burger done medium and they nailed it! Nice tap list but I was there for lunch.

All the food I've ever had here has been great, but they're a place that COMES PREPARED for things like Portland Burger Week and Portland Wing Week. The cocktails are always pretty solid, and the place always has a really nice vibe without being crazy busy. There's a few outside tables as well, although it'd be hard to put too many people out there.

Happily stumbled upon this neighborhood gem! From the friendly and hospitable staff (excellent sense of humors to boot) to the delicious nachos and brunch menu. You can't go wrong here! A Sellwood must for drinks, food, and watching sports.

I came here during Wing Week and got 6 of their habanero pineapple wings for $6. A not-so-hidden dive bar in the heart of Sellwood neighborhood of Portland, OR. It was Saturday during college football season and half the place was packed with UofO Duck fans, while the other half was of Bama fans while both teams played their respective games and yelling and cheering ensued. You go up to the bar to get your drinks and order then take the number to any seat and just wait. No frills, but I can see how the community would love coming here.

We were tired & hungry, ready for some good food. This place certainly meet our expectations! We ordered the peanut sauce burger and it was delicious! The hand cut fries were not quite the right texture, but the flavor was good. Our table had the pork sliders & the hot beef hoagie - both we're delicious! I would definitely recommend this place & would be even more happy if this was my neighborhood bar! Thanks for the great service & great food!

I visited for the first time, during Portland Mercury's Wing Week 2021, to try their Asian Orange Glazed Wings (pictured). They were excellent! I would say that they landed as my sixth favorite, overall, after having tried ALL 24 participants, this week, and were one of my favorite mild choices. They were very mild, sticky and sweet, with a refreshing, classic orange chicken flavor. The wings are pepper ginger marinated, lightly breaded in-house, and feature a house-made "Asian orange" glaze. Wonderful! If you are spicy-food-averse, or just looking to cool your taste buds down, to better pace your enjoyment of Wing Week, this is a great option. Service was friendly, professional and accommodating. Awesome bar in Sellwood, closest thing to a sports bar in the neighborhood. Their menu is awesome (the reuben and cubano sandwiches are amazing), the taplist is solid, and the staff are fantastic.

Funky, authentically local bar with unexpectedly strong food. Ben the bartender was awesome. We were there Sunday for breakfast/brunch. My wife had the egg sandwich on an English muffin with melted cheddar and ham. I had the chicken enchiladas with eggs on top. NBA game was on. Will definitely go back to drink beer, watch sports and try their Cubano sandwich which I read was terrific.

We came for Sunday brunch. I got the eggs benedict and my partner got the denver omelette. Eggs B we're good - nothing to blow you away but standard. His omelette was a little overdone for my preference - hash browns were great. They do a 7.00 bloody mary and a 5.00 mimosa with 2.00 refills on the weekends. Pretty nice! Walking distance from our house. Will be back!
