D's Bar - Portland - Photo album

Was visiting Portland for a long weekend, and my wife the Iowa alum wanted to check out this bar for the Sat game. This is truly a neighborhood bar and a lot of friendly people here. As long as you can deal with the tiny gnats buzzing g around the bar, everything is cool. On Saturdays the owner make
Very welcoming atmosphere. Great owner and the staff is friendly and attentive. A fantastic neighborhood watering hole. Catch the Hawkeyes here every weekend!
Looks like they are going through changes, expanding to the pizza place, but the staff was very friendly and attentive. Loved the beer selection and the food. Tried the onion rings, cheese bread, ribs, and veggie pizza add pepperoni. Everything was most excellent! Go Chiefs!
We went here for the first time tonight after our softball games and we were pleasantly surprised at how great the food was and how nice the atmosphere was as well. There were plenty of bartenders and servers so we didn't have to wait. I think we will start to make this our regular after game spot!
Yup, it's a no frills neighborhood bar and perhaps the company I was in shed a positive light on my visit, but I sure had a nice evening at D's bar. The cook delivered huge portions of comfort food to our table with the gracious attitude you'd expect from a fine restaurant and everyone was super fri
Great place to watch a game, enjoy pizza or BBQ. Has a family feel too.
Simply some of the best food around. Including the BEST brick oven ny style pizza ever! There every weekend for football. Owner & bartenders are awesome and the football fans feel like family!
Best Iowa bar outside of the midwest!! So great to be surrounded by hometown folks so far from home. The service can be a little slow during game times, but the environment is worth it. The owner is behind the bar, slinging drinks and wisecracks. They have a different food special each Saturday duri
Was there for the Iowa / Ohio State game. Great fun with very nice people. Iowa pulled a huge upset. Frozen mugs are a great touch. They call it a "dive" bar but it is much more than that. Great family run establishment. Out of towners who instantly felt welcome. Sloppy Joes and Tots for lunc
Great place to enjoy a nice relaxing time in a friendly bar when people that are easy to talk with and new friends to meet. I have not had any food there so I have nothing to say about that. Drinks are great and the bartender John
They've got 13 (if I remember correctly) beers on tap, they've got plenty of darts, a juke box, friendly bartenders and most importantly their prices are hella good. $7.50 for a draft craft beer and a cider is the cat's meow in my book!! Parking appeared to be lacking but in its location you are ab
Remember: "dive bar" is not pejorative in Portland. Understanding that, this is Top Of The Line. If your football team has adopted this place (or vice versa), you can expect a rousing afternoon or evening.
Connected to a pizza place. Multiple TVs with sports. Very nice wait staff. Didn't eat but the food smelled great.
Good priced beer, free wifi, and enough light to read! It is a nice neighborhood bar. Nothing special but a great place to grab a drink at the end of the day.
Great for watching football. Sound was loud but I like that in a sports pub. Menu is on the small side, good beer selection
Neighborhood bar. Huge Tv's. Great prices on drinks. Wonderful atmosphere. Pretty darn good pizza....
Lucked into this placed on St. Patty's day with my layover in Portland. Awesome corned beef and cabbage! Nice people and place!
Dennis, Thank you very much for the hospitality and service from your family friend Chad from Iowa. You have very friendly bartenders and an awesome place.
