Amazing food! Our service was terrific from the moment we arrived! Very friendly, very satisfying food, prices were very reasonable, and as I said the food was amazing!

Great place to eat in - chicken and broccoli is some of the best I've had (what a bland dish to talk about, but they add a ton of garlic - I now ask for extra to get that banging flavor). Pretty solid vegan options. Carry out can take a little longer than expected, but it's an easy place to hang out.

The Gold Bowl is a small, comfortable little family restaurant. I was having a serious egg foo young craving, and didn't want to cross the river twice to fulfil it. I had not been to the Gold Bowl Restaurant for several or many years. I was hesitant, I read the other reviews. Remembering my last two dinners at the Hungry Tiger on 28th Ave. (No longer there) I ordered a combination dinner to go Egg foo young, BBQ pork, fried shrimp, and fried rice. I ordered the assorted vegetables for a friend. I got home and was impressed. Everything in my dinner exceeded my expectations. The assorted vegetables looked fresh, crisp, and assorted. Cooked just to the right point. (I really can't remember if assorted is the correct wording from the menu.) I will be returning again soon. There is also a small bar with video poker, and they have Megabucks, and other draw games.

Staff doesn't speak much / clear English so try not to ask too many questions. GREAT ORANGE CHICKEN dish and decent priced lunch specials! Close to work so can be a good escape from the office when need to get away. Most people order food to go as the place had orders coming through but not much clientele inside.

Drove past and figured I'd give them a shot. The taste of there food is very bland and not fully cooked. I had the sweet and sour chicken with pork fried rice. A few hours after finishing my dinner my stomach started to cramp up. Thanks to there poor quality of food I spent the rest of the night sick to my stomach. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Especially with all the Chinese food restaurants to choose from in Portland. STAY AWAY!!!

The General Tso's was made to order and piping hot. Delicious sauce. Huge portions - even on the lunch menu. Point off for delicious hot and sour that was only warm and pork fried rice that was dry. Get the egg drop and the steamed rice instead. Very friendly wait staff. REALLY Old School layout and pricing.

Fresh food. Don't let the exterior building fool you. The food is great. I ate all my food with lunch left overs and to counter a previous post my stomach is just fine. Nice friendly owners!

Can't say anything here really stands out. The egg rolls are unbelievably bready, you'll swear there's something inside of them once you drill through the first few layers. The food doesn't hold too well overnight so try shoving this mess down your gullet before it gets cold. I feel like every time we go back here it's the walk of shame, but if you want cheap Chinese, it's the place to go.
