Oysters are off the charts delicious. Soooo fresh and tasty. The bartender said they get them fresh every day and offer 5 or 6 kinds each day. I can't wait to go back for more.

Hands down, the BEST lobster roll I have ever had! Lots of large chunks of lobster! I have had a lot of lobster in Portland and this was by far the best!!!

Wonderful!. This was a random choice for us because it was raining (again!) as we left our hotel (Hilton Garden Inn) and we asked for a recommendation from the reception people. I had read decent reviews of it, and have to say that it exceeded expectations on this Sunday evening.

My husband and I were seated immediately. We both chose the Faroe Island salmon with the summer squash & zuke salad with a vinaigrette dressing. I wanted to know where Faroe Island was, thinking it was most likely near Monhegan Island or some other Maine location, but no, it is an island in the North Sea between Norway and Iceland (as my very smart husband knew). So much for local cuisine. But it was delicious, and the veggies were amazing, with a delightful lemony seasoning. When I asked about the seasoning, our helpful server said she would inquire, and soon reported back that the herbs were parsley, mint, and basil. I will try to duplicate it at home, it was THAT good.

I was accidentally served two glasses of chardonnay, but when an additional server dropped the second glass off and noticed a glass already on the table, he said, "Oh, you already got your glass. Well, have two and this one is on us." Very gracious, and very consumed.

For dessert, I followed our original server's suggestion: the lime tart, with gin infused cherries (see photo!). Really tasty!!

I highly recommend the Old Port Sea Grill and hope your experience is as satisfying as ours.

Good Experience. My wife and I dropped in for lunch and were happy we did. While the place wasn't particularly busy on a Friday afternoon, we nevertheless elected to sit at one of the high top tables in the bar area. The bar keep provided friendly and excellent service. Although somewhat pricey for lunch (e.g., $20 for a lobster roll and oysters rolling in at $2.50 per), the food was good enough to carry this burden, making it worth while. Someone had mentioned to us that this place offered good oysters and it did not dissappoint! I also recommend the horshradish bloody mary for those who enjoy such things.

I'd give this restaurant an 8/10. Portion size was small on some dishes and appropriate on others, but overall a good experience. We went here due to the Urbanspoon rating and it worked out well. Not great, but certianly better than average.

Chowder-o-rama! Sounds scary, doesn't it? Like some sort of ill-fated small town festival with a dunk tank full of chowder (patent pending). Maybe some spinning rides to make things really interesting? But no, just local bloggers singing stories of soup, chowder specifically. I chose to visit the Old Port Sea Grill, a restaurant that few under the age of 30 seem to know about. But many a summer sail have ended at the Sea Grill, and for some reason I was there during the non-hurricane of last August. But at any rate, I associate this lovely curved, poured cement bar with cocktails, fresh oysters, and good friends. So I happily took the chowder-o-rama as an excuse to visit the Old Port Sea Grill with my new hot date. Later in the evening on a Saturday night, the bar was almost full, with several people already well into their requisite weekend consumption of loads of liquor. A. and I ordered steak tartare and a bowl of New England clam chowder to share, as well as some local beers, the M

We chanced up on this place last day in Portland. We were very fortunate to have found this place. After the usual "let me see if we have a table" we were seated near the bar on a high top. The waitress was very polite and happy to talk us through the menu. We ended up ordering the Crudo, clam chowder, coconut shrimp, and the twin lobster 🦞 poached in butter. The food was scrumptious and we ate every morsel. The lazy lobster was a tad chewy due to being twice cooked but still way better than some of the local places. My kid gulped down the whole clam chowder bowl without looking up. The coconut shrimp were very flavorful and gave a nice crunch to the otherwise softer dishes. The hero was the Crudo. Just so beautiful that it could pass as a plate of art than food. We finished the broth clean. This ended our Maine Trip on a really high note.

The sauce on the lobster roll was fantastic. This was my first lobster roll in Maine and it did not disappoint! We tried all of the four different oyster options on the menu and enjoyed each of them and their distinct flavor profiles. Justin stopped by our table to ensure we were comfortable and enjoying our time! Overall a great experience. Food was delish.

My wife and I celebrated our 41st anniversary! The front table we had looked right out on Commercial St , a great spot for dinner! The best service we ever had !Justin came over and congratulated us and brought over two Prosecco drinks! Next Madison served us like a pro what a wonderful knowledgeable waitress!! Gary another server made me feel great as he acknowledged my service in the Navy ! So we started with little neck clams , cocktail shrimp and clam chowder. Dinner was lobster linguine and pan fried scallops! Dessert was a chocolate torte with mango !All dishes delicious! The whole experience was a great no rush dinner ! Thank you to the kitchen staff who made those delicious dishes for us ! John and Lizabeth

Visited Portland for the day. Stopped in to have a seafood dinner. Didn't want a bunch of fried seafood. This place had some great options. It's directly across from the harbor and seafood market. The food was wonderful.

My wife and I dined on the 4th after realizing that most of the city was closed. We’re glad we did! The hostess was very nice and got us a table right away in the windows. Our waitress Emily was wonderful and answered all our questions like a pro. She made the recommendation to get the lobster with fettuccine and a scallop risotto dish. Both were delicious and good portions. My wife couldn’t finish her pasta! Overall the food was very good but the service was the best we had in Portland. Every person that was working there that night was friendly. Good experience.

Old Port Sea Grill & Raw Bar was great. Staff was helpful and polite. Justin was great too. Noted that our table was drafty and asked if we would like to move, but we declined. Honestly, part of the reason we went was because of Justin's hilarious comments on less dignified reviews of the restaurant. The oysters were exactly as described on the menu, and while others complain about 4 choices, the appeal is that these are local oysters and I prefer that to importing them from Prince Edward Island for instance. The Lobster Rolls are made classically Maine style with a mayonnaise sauce and are worth it. The bun was well toasted and is a perfect portion and consistency. Lobster is cooked very well and comes in large chunks as it should be. Not sure what kind of Lobster rolls that others are used to, but this is the only way I have ever seen them presented. The Lobster Pad Thai is an interesting take, and unexpected at this restaurant, but was very good. Again, Lobster was perfectly cooked and the flavors were brought out well by both the Pad Thai and the Rolls. The fish and chips were good as well. My only critique would be that the batter contains a little too much salt, however it could be from salting the fries, as the filets are served on top of the fries. Not concerning enough to raise complaints in the restaurant though. Like everything else, perfectly cooked. All in all, if I were to stay in the Portland area for an extended time, I would come back 100%
