I was surprised to find such a gem in the heart of Provo. I appreciate the interior design of the restaurant and the ambiance. But most of all, I can tell the chef is passionate about what they do and genuinely inspired. It was so good and reminded me what's exciting about food. It is definitely worth going to.
my husband and I love the block! we are from out of state and don’t love the food in utah but the block is one of our spots! Surprised it doesn’t have better reviews so I had to leave one. My husband is gluten intolerant and they are SO helpful and kind with substitutes and we think the food is yummy!
This place was amazing! First time eating here and my wife and I absolutely loved it! Totally recommend going here. The food we got was so good.
I celebrated my birthday here with my wife, and we both had such a great experience! The food and service is amazing and prices are reasonable for what your getting, we will definitely recommend and return!
I typically visit the block once a month and every single time I have an amazing experience. The food is farm to table. The service is very attentive and fast. The flavor that they are able to create in each and every plate is incredible and very hard to find in other restaurants. It tastes fresh, authentic and savory. Overall, I would highly recommend this spot.
The only down fall is that it is extremely popular so sometimes they have a long wait but it’s well worth it.
Great food, cocktails, and service. Tables felt close together, but it’s a fairly small restaurant. It was also easier to park on the street than wrestle with the parking lot.
This restaurant, which perhaps commenced its journey as a modern American eatery, has a lot to offer with its cozy ambiance and an eclectic menu. The service is impeccable, and most of the menu items, like the tender braised short rib paired with delicate gnocchi, exhibit a fine blend of comfort and sophistication synonymous with American cuisine.
However, amidst this well-curated menu lies the Curried Oxtail—a dish that seems to veer off the established culinary path. Although presented as Jamaican-style, the potent curry flavors align more with an Indian palate. I surmise the intent might be to diversify the menu, yet this particular dish feels more like a nod to a different culinary tradition rather than a coherent part of the American-themed menu.
I understand the culinary dilemma—offering an oxtail dish that doesn’t mirror the braised short rib is a challenge. Yet, I believe there might be other preparations of oxtail that could seamlessly blend with the overarching American theme, should it remain the focus.
Despite this minor divergence, the allure of this establishment is strong, and I am eagerly awaiting my next visit to savor more of the delectable dishes on offer.
Block is such a little hidden Utah gem. The food is home style American with unique flavor combinations. The short rib gnocchi was incredible- melt in your mouth tender, lean, and bursting with flavor. The duck was the best any in our party had ever had. The service is friendly and responsive.
Best restaurant, with a great Menu that goes with the seasons. The chef has been here for years now, and he creates the menu, and changes its periodically. My wife and I love it. No need to go to some overpriced fancy restaurant up in SLC. This place is a hidden gem!
Hubby and I have been coming to Block since it opened, and it is still a favorite! The food is incredible and the service is exceptional. We love their Sunday brunch, and I brought my Mama here for her birthday, dinner, and the staff signed a sweet birthday card for her! Great for any special occasion or just a dinner date. Looks forward to next time!
Went here for our anniversary and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was perfect, nice and quiet with beautiful decor. The food & drinks were spot on. We will definitely be back!
We had a company dinner here last night and the food and service were absolutely amazing! Everyone loved their food and our server was extremely knowledgeable. They were so accommodating to the few of us that have celiac. Thank you for a wonderful evening!!!
If you haven’t tried this place you need to put your phone down and run to the car. It’s THAT good. We had the potato gnocchi with short rib along with the spring pasta (my absolutely favorite by a long shot) and finished it off with the strawberry shortcake.
This is the type of restaurant that literally takes your breath away after one bite. Forget about the price and prepare to be blown away.
Mitchell was our server and he went above and beyond every chance he got. We were super grateful to have been served by him!
The Block Restaurant is an outstanding eatery. I was very impressed with the exquisite flavors, textures, contrasts, and spices that surrounded my dining experience. The chef explores many senses to expand your palette. The restaurant brings all produce and meat in locally from the valley. The team works hard to support local businesses. Along side the great food, the staff brought a genuine, exciting, yet relaxed climate. My wife and I felt very welcomed and plan to come back for brunch. Excellent job!
The food is superb !
Everything felt like an explosion of Flavors and freshness in your mouth. The service is amazing, as they are able to recommend food off the menu according to whatever you may be craving And they simply radiate great energy which makes you want to stay. Ambiance is cool too.
Our server, Callie, was amazing. She is so kind, warm and attentive. She checked on us just enough, not too much. My husband and I went for breakfast/brunch on a Saturday and ordered fresh squeezed orange juice (really was fresh squeeze) and a virgin bloody Mary which were both great. For food, we got the ManSando and the Block Burger with fruit. Both were excellent and the fruit bowl was one of the best I've had as it had "the good stuff" - blueberries, strawberries, apples, pineapple, grapes and peaches. We just moved to the area and will be back to try out the dinner. Thanks Callie! 😊
