Review The Summit Restaurant & Cocktails - Racine

We had our Corporate Diner here. The Diner was very well managed. Food was excellent. Many took home Left overs as they were large portions. Waitstaff was friendly and readily available to help. I personally had the Parmesan Chicken Bowl and would definitely order again. The New York Strip and Ribs were loved by All.

The ambiance of the restaurant is gorgeous, however the food quality was disappointing. The Lobster Bisque tasted like tomato soup and lobster was rubbery in texture. French onion soup was slightly better, but again lacked flavor especially the cheese. We had the bacon wrapped filets where bacon was under cooked resulting in bacon being rubbery. Ordered steaks medium rare which there was NO char whatsoever on the outside made it seem like it was almost baked. The shrimp appetizer was the only thing which we loved & had great flavor. We decided not to complain since it was my Moms birthday and I didn’t want to make her day feel less special. For the price you pay the food was an embarrassment where we will just simply not return.

Loved the atmosphere at this cute little bar. We came for drinks and grabbed delicious appetizer. The bartender was great, very personable and great service.

The moment you step inside the doors , you’re greeted warmly. The atmosphere is fresh and funky and so gorgeous. We started off with the apple pie old fashioned seasonal drinks which got better with every sip. We tried the jalapeño steak wonton appetizer which was superb. Rich and creamy with tender bites of steak tucked in a delicate crust. We had the sweetest server, Jay who was so kind. We had a slight hiccup with our order and it was fixed above and beyond. They bring you fresh bread and a cracker assortment which was so warm and tasty. I tried the steak tacos, while my husband tried the best steak sandwich. Both were the most incredible meals. Highly impressed with every detail of each meal. I had to try the French onion soup and it did not disappoint. Rich and full of flavor. Overall probably one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. We aren’t from the area but will absolutely be returning.

Went for their Mothers Day Brunch, with a group of eight, and overall everything was very good. Had a wide variety of both Breakfast and Lunch buffet items. Food was good, and the prime rib was great! Even with the controlled chaos, their staff were certainly hustling their butts off, and it showed.

Our experience was not great, we dined here on Saturday Feb 12th. It took 10 min for us to even get service when we sat down. Our waitress was apologetic, there must have been confusion at the host stand. The appetizer was good, but they seemed to be out of most of them at the time we sat (7:30) Our waitress was not very attentive to drinks or how long things were taking, we had to wait on drinks in between courses. We were not notified that they were behind in the kitchen. Everything was taking a while which was understood, we heard from another table that they were short staffed. The food was not amazing for the price we paid for it. Then at the end, we felt rushed to get out of there when the food times were not our fault. Our waitress became standoffish and felt we needed to rush to leave. She did not package our food up, we did it ourselves. Overall if this was meant to be a fine dining experience, the only thing that was that way was the price.

Edit, SUNDAY BRUNCH IS BACK!! The best yogurt I've ever had!! I have never had an omlet be so light and fluffy!! Definitely worth it!! Little pricey but worth it. The best ribeye in town you absolutely get more than you pay for! Got to try there Sunday brunch!

The ONLY redeeming favor of this restaurant was that the service was amazing. We went for brunch and the biscuits were dry the gravy was very milky cold peppery and the flour hadn't been cooked out. The sausage links were hard and not warm the French toast was didn't seem very well dredged and the desert bar items just all looked dried out... no bueno!

What an amazing Brunch! The food was delicious (omg the lamb was melt in my mouth yummy!) and our server Tabitha was on spot excellent. I really loved how the desserts table portions were more like an Amouse Bouchée so you could taste everything. The coffee station was fantastic and I loved the added biscotti. We will definitely be back for regular dinner. Thank you for a fabulous Easter Brunch!

We went there without a reservation in prime time, sat within 15-20 minutes which was great. I had their twin 4-oz filets which were excellent. I ordered the side of coconut shrimp, they were huge and very tender. My wife had a rib eye and she loved it. Both steaks were done to perfection, extremely tender and lots of flavor. Our server, Hannah was great-attentive and did not rush us. It was a great dinner and atmosphere.

Just ate at The Summit today for Father's Day. The waitress forgot to tell us about the menu we could order from at the table that was included in the brunch until we were all finished eating off the buffet which didn't really have a lot of choices. The scrambled eggs were empty as well as the bacon. We had to ask for plates the second time we went up and someone brought out a stack of wet plates which we had to dry on our shirts. There were entree choices on the menu that wasn't shown to us until we were done eating. The waitress never offered anything more than a "sorry". We most likely will not return.

Enjoyed a birthday supper tonight. My husband & I both had the twin garlic stuffed bacon wrapped filets. They were absolutely the best we've had in quite some time. They were hot through and through. The side salad was a delicious mix of green with season tomato & onion pieces. Our waitress was extremely attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Receiving a ice cream sundae as a birthday treat was very nice. The hostess made a point of stopping by a couple of times to check on if we needed anything. Will definitely return.

Decided to dine here last night for my birthday. We were served by Hannah, who was nice. Aside from the abundance of strange decor, we had a subpar meal. We each ordered the special, which was a porterhouse with potatoes. I asked for med rare and my husband for medium. Steaks arrived and mine was slightly over and his was way under. We would have just swapped except for his was still cold and too gristly for me to even cut. The knives provided are not sharp, at all; dull to the point that the server apologized in advance while she handed them to us. We sent his steak back and received one that was somehow burnt on the outside and still under on the inside. We didn't bother to send this one back. A very disappointing $85 meal considering we never get out and finally had a sitter for our four kids. We will not be back.

We were a party of 6 last night, 20 mins to get a drink at the bar that wasn't busy at all while we waited for the third couple to show up. Once we got seated it took 15 mins before our waitress took our drink order for the third couple. Took 45 mins to get the drinks back. She then came back and said sorry this isn't my table and that so and so is your waitress. Same person came back 15 min later and said sorry I guess I am your waitress. One couple ordered prime rib that felt like it was just taken out of the fridge it was so cold and her husbands steak was cold as well. She got another and hat was still cold. He didn't make a complaint because he was so damn hungry because at this time we were waiting about 2hrs to get our food. The other friends shrimp she ordered was burnt. I ordered creamy potato soup with bacon. All I got was a bowl of mushy potatoes and some bacon with a little sauce on it. Far cry from calling it soup! I also order a chicken meal that looked like it was under a heating lamp for an hr. Just plain gross. The waitress was amazing that was the only saving grace. She couldn't believe we had so many issues with our food and drinks. What I don't get is that they had a new bartender that had only been working for a week working last night. The bar wasn't that busy and the waitress stated that you guys were short staffed. The mgr did put a credit on our bill last night but I'll tell you this, I will never go back there again! In the end we were there for a total of 3 hrs. Unbelievable!!

Went for Mother's Day Brunch. When we opened the door, my husband spotted a mouse which quickly darted outside. That should have been our first clue to leave. Brunch topped $32 for an adult buffet and I was expecting some substantial, delicious food. However, what we found were numerous stations of foods that were cooked inside foil pans; mashed potatoes, corn, green been casserole, sausage and gravy, spring rolls, etc. There was a carving station, but the prime rib was fatty and bloodied. Most people do not want a pool of blood on their plate from very rare meat. Moving on to dessert, it looked like more of a dessert table from a kid's birthday party; jelly beans, slices of nut roll (probably very similar to the Pearson nut rolls you can pick up at any grocer) bite size cheesecake squares and eclairs (pretty sure these last two items came from GFS or Costco). I overhead another guest ask the waitstaff "Did you make any desserts?" Oh, there were Hershey's kisses too. Also, there was a sangria station with samples near the door but no one was offering any samples to guests. $32 for an adult buffet...really?!? You're in Racine and not downtown Chicago. I would have had a better brunch at Denny's! I will NEVER go back. This dining experience cost me over $97 (for my husband, myself and our 6 y/o and 2 y/o) and completely wrecked my Mother's Day.

Best brunch ever! Presentation, taste, staff, and pricing were all a pleasure. I'll be back and I highly recommend it.

We had a party of 9 people who ate at the Summit Restaurant for our Christmas dinner. I just have to say we had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was great and the round table we sat at allowed us to be able to have conversations with everyone at once. The waitress was friendly and fun, very accommodating with all of our needs and very willing to address them all within a timely manner. The food was absolutely delicious and the bread was to die for. We were all very happy with the service and the food. Keep up the good work. We will be back!!!!

This was our first time here. Came for Christmas dinner. The atmosphere was beautiful but the service was very slow and lacking. I ordered my filet mignon medium rare and it was easily sitting between medium and well done....with zero flavor. I also ordered the lobster tail. Typically with a lobster it comes automatically with drawn butter. The waiter brought the tail without butter and proceeded to ask me if I'd like butter with it....ummmm yes please. I've lived in Racine for 15yrs and thought I'd give this place a try, but unfortunately I won't be going back anytime in the future....if at all

Bad service, waitress didn't know what was included in the meal, brought wrong style of food, and the breading on the cod is horrible...what happen the the good ole' beer batter you once offered years ago?

The Summit is an excellent place to go for wonderful service and food. I have been going here for years and have never been unsatisfied. The stuffed garlic filets are the absolute best! And save room...the deserts are delicious too!! Appetizers to deserts, there is something to satisfy every palate!

Went with a party of 9 women for lunch. Our server was excellent and went out of her way to accommodate us. Drinks were refreshing. Some of our group had the special of the day (a warm beef wrap with mushrooms and melted cheese) which they enjoyed. I had my favorite entree -- Parmesan crusted chicken which was delicious. Soups of the day were also very good. Will definitely go back.

I've been going to the Summit for 20 years. I've never been disappointed in the food. The Sunday Brunch is very good too. The staff is always friendly.
