Review Nonna Wells Pizzeria - Racine

Brian Niggemann
I was excited to see a pizza restaurant open in Sturtevant. Tried it tonight for the first time. Seriously the best Pizza I’ve had around here since I’ve moved to Racine. Excellent Crust and sauce. Looking forward to trying the other items on the menu. I would definitely get their pizza again.

Just picked up a pie ot two for lunch! Amazing home run pizza, for those curious about saurkraut or pickles on pizza, this pie will have you falling in love!!! The dynamic of flavors will have you begging for more! I feel like I'm eating a brat at the ball game in my own backyard!!!

I made a review on Facebook, but my review was deleted and then I was blocked. DO NOT use Facebook reviews as a guide for this restaurant, because they, literally, delete any bad review to keep their ratings higher. If you want REAL Wells Brothers Pizza, go to 2148 Mead St - this place is sub par at best in comparison. This location is NOT associated with the original, and is only using their name to gain business.

Best pizza on the north side of Racine. Calzones are ridiculously large and excellent.

1st visit: Very thin crusted pizza (CSMO - XC) tasted wonderful, HOWEVER, the sausage was loaded with good sized, totally GROSS chewy gristle, making it inedible. Had to pick it all off. We will try it again without that meat. Eggplant fries were too heavily breaded. Couldn't eat them. Won't get those again. The gal that took our order at the counter seemed less than enthusiastic and indifferent. Room for improvement for the premium price. Still going back because the taste was excellent. Three strike rule.

Fish was extremely mushy.. rest of our meals were very blah no flavor or salt...

Really disappointed in the pizza th We actually had to add salt to it to give it flavor the sauce had absolutely no taste of any kind of an Italian sauce I ordered mushrooms it was like 16 oz can of mushroom sign it and then I also ordered black yeah I learned black olives and it was like another 16 oz can of black olives on a medium pizza was really not a good pizza at all

A honest conversation... I went into Nonnas on 3/10/2016 at about 8:45PM to get a pizza for carry out. I live in the area and witnessed the insanity of Saturday, March 5th, both in driving by the area and seeing the traffic jams and in stopping to get something from Danny's next door. We had tried their pizza earlier and it was spectacular, especially considering that there is nothing of any good quality pizza in the area. Herein is the problem - a great pizza moves in... people mass to the location. I read many of the comments regarding long wait times, misquoted wait times, and the issue where they shut down orders. If this place just served pizzas, I might be more concerned, but having worked in the industry many years and knowing how a mass influx that is unexpected can mess up order timing, I understood. They serve pastas, desserts, salads, etc. and is a much more expansive menu than I would have expected from a place in a minuscule space comparatively. Now, let's get to my visit... the owners just happened to be in the lobby reading Facebook posts and trying to respond as best as they could. They had a lot of staff working and the place had a pleasant atmosphere and demeanor from the staff. I casually mentioned Saturday and they were eager to chat. We spoke about the unexpected influx, the learning curve of the staff, and the bottlenecks from carryout. A new place always needs a time of adjustment and while they explained they were ready for a good rush, they had no idea the massive onslaught of people and continual phone orders. They fell behind, then orders were hard to time with things other than pizza, then more people came and the phone kept ringing. People were disappointed in wait times, ordering, etc. and they made a decision that many owners might not - they stopped taking orders. Not because they wanted to or to alienate anyone, but because the worst thing an owner can do is continually cause problems with customers or put out bad product. They were on a three hour wait and people that had ordered and been told an hour were still waiting because it got that busy. But, people waited... why? THE FOOD IS SPECTACULAR. Yes, I read that there were some order mixups, but they are trying their best to compensate and to contact each person who commented. They will grow and they will adapt - the place will get more manageable. The best part... the owners TRULY care. They spoke with me at length about the place, the challenges and their vision. They were wonderful and passionate and they WILL bring great food to an area that desperately needs it. THANK YOU! You have a customer for life!

Rocked it tonight! Met my ol lady in a pizza place so we remember how crazy it can get but the place held it together! I even screwed up my order and they were more than helpful to me and my family! Sat in the waiting room which is small but super comforting. Plus, Danny's is next door! Pizza was fantastic and definitely coming back and telling more people about it. Thanks guys and gals!

Today I went and picked up a pizza and took it back to my office. It was amazing!!!!! While we were eating there was complete silence in the office. Cooked to perfection just like Wells Bros. It had the cornmeal on the bottom and every bite was amazing. It's great to finally have wonderful food on the north side of Racine. I will definitely be back very soon to get more. When the moon hits your eye like a pizza pie that amore :)

Went there to get dinner they say an hour in a half I get there food has clearly been done longer then that. Ordered a Reuben sandwich also the meat was overly dry sandwich was cold... It didn't even seem like homemade corn beef. Never order one of those again

Always great food. For a place that's famous for their pizza, they also have shockingly delicious soups, and other options! Prompt and courteous employees that always offer to help me to my car.

Tried the fish platter yesterday.. with the loaded baked potato soup and spaghetti as sides... so much food, it's enough for 2 people! Everything was awesome... look forward to ordering some more deliciousness!

Tried ordering last weekend but they were too busy. Tried again this evening & had wonderful pizza & fried ravioli. The line was out the door & the extra cheese pizza was a bit overdone but we are so excited to support this new business on the Northside! We are SO glad you're here! Hope you grow enough to build a small restaurant across the street in that empty lot! :) :) :)

Where do I begin it all started in a little brick building and as soon as they expanded to 4 Mile I couldn't have been happier right around the corner from our home I'm absolutely in love with the whole menu the soups are out-of-this-world handmade homemade everyday fresh the lasagna the freezer packs of lasagna of the easy take-out cooler right by the door the convenience of in and out they are a very passionate family that provides the most excellent service and fantastic Italian food you can tell it's made with love by family.

GREAT Pizza! But...the girls behind the counter could use some Customer Service Training... It was like we were interrupting the "phone time" when we approached the counter.

Love the pizza. You have to try the Goomba, simply amazing. Tonight we are trying the fish plater, hey, it's Friday. It is dangerous having this place less than a mile from my home.

I've had Wells pizza before and it's always excellent. We ordered Nonna Wells last night (for the first time) and everything was fabulous!!! Best pizza in town...and the antipasto salad is my favorite

When I heard these guys were coming to Caledonia, I was excited because of their legendary pizza crust. What I was unprepared for was their slate of everything else. I have tried something new every time I've ordered, and never been disappointed. Whether it is the Italian beef, the soup, the lasagna, the pizza, the calzone, The fries, whatever it has always been amazing. These guys don't pull back on anything. It's as though whatever you choose is their schtick. Not just the pizza. Love it.
