Some of the best sushi ive had in Raleigh and I've had tons of sushi from various places !! The salmon story roll is some of the best tasting and well rounded sushi rolls I've ever had ! A++ will be back !!
I had lunch with a good friend at Sono Sushi and it was an absolute delight. We got seated quickly and the server greeted us. The menu has a little something for even the most picky eaters. From sushi rolls to ramen to poke bowls, Sono Sushi is definitely more than just sushi. We opted for the bento boxes with different sushi. Within minutes of ordering, our bentos arrived. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and mouthwateringly delicious. I’ll have to take the husband and head back to Sono for dinner and really enjoy some sushi and sake but for a quick delicious lunch, Sono can’t be beat.
It was a warm Saturday evening. We were in the mood for some noodles and sushi, In came Sono. This is a long standing restaurant in the heart of downtown. We were able to get seating right away despite no reservation. They have a solid lunch special, but we were here for dinner.
Their ramen is very good and sushi is decent.

Nice location, good service, great sushi and sake, and decent ramen. I really enjoyed the Crunchy Diablo roll with a hot sake, followed by a bowl of Chicken Ramen. Recommend visiting.

Wow. Starting with the service - fantastic! The bartender, Sushada, was awesome. Very attentive, was able to deal with drinks and dinner orders and always smiling. The Calamari salad included cucumbers. Nice touch! The Sonos Choice sushi entree was one of the best sushi combos I’ve had, and I’ve been to a lot of sushi places. I’ll definitely be back!
The sushi was very good. I ordered the Tuna roll that had the Ponzu mustard. I was skeptical about trying this roll because I'm not a fan of mustard. However, I am never opposed to trying something once. Because even though I may not like a certain item or flavor, if things are balanced and it can be great and this one was. Definitely will be back again.
This review is for Ramen and KFC, I did not try other dishes. The Korean Fried Chicken is amazing. Maybe the best fried chicken I’ve had in Raleigh. Thin layer of super crispy and (maybe over)drenched in a delicious spicy tangy sweet Korean bbq sauce. The chicken thighs themselves are seasoned and cooked perfect. Cooked long enough to lose the chew thigh meat can have but not so long that they become stringy or dry. The spicy miso ramen was okay. A beautiful presentation of under seasoned ingredients. I just wanted the broth to be richer with more depth of flavor so I was a little disappointed. Finally the service was attentive but aloof and the restaurant itself was lovely. I’ll likely come back to try other dishes and to get the chicken but I’m going to look somewhere else in Raleigh for my next ramen fix.

My first visit and besides service being slow (looked like they were short staffed so I'm not going to dock any stars for it and the waiter did his best) everything was awesome!
Sushi rolls were fresh and screaming with flavor! Absolutely some of the best rolls I've ever had! The Umi Kazan and Grand Piano were both amazing and now high on my favorite sushi roll list!
The restaurant is very clean and organized, very comfortable to sit in. I like the sushi bar in the back where you can watch sushi being made.
I'll definitely be back!
There were three of us who came in for a quick lunch. We needed to return to a convention by 1:30pm. We were seated right away however the speed of service slowed tremendously. We walked in at 12pm and it took about 15 min for the waitress to take our order. Two of us ordered the soup, salad, and a roll combo, while the third ordered the tonkatsu ramen and a roll. Miso soup came with salad coming about 15 min later. Our rolls came out about 1:20 and we had to be back in class at 1:30pm. They were busy (almost every table was full) however both the soups and house salads were pre-made. The waitress did not return to fill our water until we signed our receipts. Food came out at different times which made it impossible to enjoy our meal(we had about 5 min to eat our sushi rolls). (One person eating while the other waited). Food was great once we got it.
We’ve been here twice and it’s been a great experience both times! I have yet to try a bad roll, I had the tuna on tuna roll last time and it was delicious. Would recommend the mule that has yuzu sake!
Sushi was so good that I didn’t even end up taking any pictures of it and just devoured it. Service was really good and caters to a big party. It’s real spacious and welcoming.

Will forever love this place! Even on a busy Saturday, you never feel like you're being rushed or crowded.
Food quality is top notch! Freshest and top grade sushi!
Wish i had gotten our waitress's name because she did an outstanding job! Though she was one of the only servers i saw that evening, she took it all in stride. Making drinks, working the host stand, all on top of waiting several tables.
Amazing and quick service! The server was on it with taking our order, refilling our drinks, and clearing dirty dishes. Sushi was great! My favorite roll was the Grand Piano. I loved that it was real crab and you could definitely taste the difference. The fish was really fresh. Definitely going back! All the rolls were amazing though!
This review is to talk about Dora White review. I also was at the restaurant right after the event happened, however I find it funny because she didn't have her purse taking. It was an attempt. Some other young gentleman got his bag taking. Now what does an unfortunate situation have to do with the restaurant. The service there is always top notch to include the food. Reviews should focus on food and services. Sorry that happen to you all but it can be anywhere.
Edamame was unevenly cooked, the ones at the top were too mushy. Yakitori was great! The omakase was not bad but could be better. The ikura was extremely salty, and the omakase took a really long time to arrive.
It was a good experience overall though!
