Having just got home from a month of travelling in US, I just have to wright a review on this little place, I have Coeliacs Disease so at times found it difficult to eat safely in the US. However this place was a total dream and the food was out of this world. It was really busy and as we have not booked, there was a 2 hour wait for tables. But we could access the full menu at the bar and we had no issue with this. In fact this made the who experience more enjoyable as we were able to speak to the lovely Wine Director Canaan. She really knew her stuff about all the wines and offered the best customer service ever. She even booked us an Uber as we had no access to them. As for the food, it was the best Italian Coeliac food i have ever eaten, i was even given focaccia which as Coeliacs known to get GF bread is a task, never mind one that tasted like "normal" bread. If we ever visit Raleigh again we will be eating here without fail. Its in my top 3 of places i have eaten on my travels. Thank you to every one there especially Canaan.

A sweet little hole in the wall with BIG flavor! Authentic tasting offerings. We had calzones, pizza, stromboli, veal bolognese, manicotti, a seafood medley as well as several gluten free options and finished so satisfied we failed to order dessert! The seating is a little tight but I think that's what makes it feel like home! Will be returning.

I took my boyfriend to Bella Monica for his birthday. Our server, Celeste, was fantastic- prompt, friendly and cheerful, made good suggestions when we appeared to need them, and even brought us some extra gluten-free bread (which is the best I've ever had). When she asked and found out that we were celebrating a birthday, she offered to bring a gluten-free dessert instead of the usual cannoli. We had a wonderful night and will definitely be back!!

The service was awesome! We have just had to start gluten free with our son and the gluten free menu here is AMAZING! The mussels were outstanding! So delicious!! My son loved his gluten free pizza! We will definitely be back! May be our new Friday night spot! đŸ˜‰â€

Food was great and so was the service. As soon as we were seated, the waiter brought us water and menus. I worked as a waitress in my teenage years. The customers always appreciated when you gave them water immediately and acknowleged their presence.

Wonderful food, and a very convenient location. Bella Monica is located in a shopping centre, but has lots of seating options both indoors and outdoors. I had a glass of the house wine, spaghetti and meatballs with "gravy," which is actually marinara sauce. The best Tiramisu I have ever had. Would highly recommend and am looking forward to dining here again.

Went yesterday and really enjoyed the place. The staff was pleasant and attentive. The food was delicious. Husband had the shrimp scampi and I had the eggplant parmesan. Eggplant wasn't breaded, like I'm used to but it was still good. Husband loved his shrimp scampi. Finished it with a yummy piece of tiramisu. Thank you Patrick, we will be back.

My husband & I had lunch at Bella Monica yesterday & it was delicious! We shared the Baked Ziti...their serving sizes are huge! It is the BEST baked Ziti I have ever eaten! Their spaghetti & lasagna are also delicious!! We will definitely go back to try some different dishes on their menu! Everyone that works there is really nice! It’s our very favorite Italian restaurant in Raleigh!

I’ve heard so many great things about this place but it was my first time after 15 years of living in Raleigh when we came to celebrate my son’s birthday! All the buzz was for a big reason! This place is fantastic and I truly felt as if I was in Italy again...Excellent authentic food and amazing atmosphere!

Just wow! This Italian restaurant has a dedicated, full gluten free menu with many options, changes out plates to be colored to remind the servers that you are gluten free, and serves gluten free bread as alternative to the regular bread service everyone else gets. Service was outstanding and they have outdoor seating, which was fantastic given the nice weather. So impressed.

At one point in the ordering process our server goes to my wife "are you sure that's what you want?" My wife has gluten & corn sensitivities so she usually has to settle at some restaurants. Here they were concerned she got something she would really enjoy. Stephanie & the entire staff was amazing. Oh, and the food was pretty damn good. They have a GF menu & if you are GF, they place a different color plate for you so every staff member is aware. Great dining experience.

The staff have been pleasant each time we have dined here. The food is on point, gluten free options and regular have been wonderful each time. Atmosphere seems to always be relaxing unless other costumers start talking loudly with their company inappropriately at the dinner table. Luckily the restaurant has nice little boxes.

Love this place. Everything I've ever eaten here is delicious. There's no fried American Italian, it's all very authentic. The cheese garlic bread is coated in garlic and has just the right crunch. The smoked mozzarella chicken sandwich had loads of flavor and the sesame bread was outstanding. The consistency was perfect, had a great crunch, and held up to the pile high toppings.

Not big selection non alcoholic beverages (they had only peach nectar), four sorts of local beer (eight not local ), no mix drinks. Usually I visit Italian restaurants for a big selection of different seafood , but here was plenty of flatbreads, pastas , and sandwiches. My server and another stuff were very nice and helpful .

The food was authentic and the portion sizes were adequate. The place was not busy but we still had a long wait for our food to come out. We made reservations weeks in advance so I wasn’t expecting such a long wait however we did have more then 8 in our party.

Always a great experience here! Reservations are helpful for larger groups, but we have walked in a few times and been able to be seated immediately even without reservations. The food is absolutely wonderful! My family has a bunch of dietary restrictions, and this place handles them amazingly. They have a celiac safe kitchen prep area, and we have never had an issue here with cross-contamination. Love this place!

Me and my wife celebrated our first anniversary here and the food and service were excellent! I ordered the stuffed shells and my wife ordered the veal rigatoni. This is the best Italian restaurant in Raleigh and this is a must go for anyone in the area. Thanks for a great anniversary dinner!

WOW!! I cannot explain how good the food is here. The flatbread was so freaking good!! Really some of the best. Perfect amount of crunch, pepperonis and sausage. One of the specials was a salad with pancetta, heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil and arugula. I could eat that salad every day 😂 It was so fresh and delicious. We also got mozzarella garlic bread and mushrooms (don’t recommend) it had a fried egg on top of sautĂ©ed mushrooms. Lasagna was superb and HUGE portions!! No leftovers after though 😀 Will definitely be back!!! The only suggestion I would add is turning down the fans inside. It really did get cold very quickly and it was a little unpleasant.

Happy to find a restaurant that offers more than one gluten free option. The gluten free garlic bread was delicious, and the shrimp scampi was pretty good. The regular menu items were just as tasty. Tex our server was phenomenal, and I would recommend this place.

One of my top Raleigh restaurants. They have an extensive gluten free menu and everything is good here. Love the cozy ambiance, grab an outdoor table by the heater and kick back, relax and enjoy.

Excellent. You should combine your menus. The shrimp and polenta is superb and yet those who don't request gluten free never have the opportunity to savor this dish. Or at least add it to your main menu. I am not gluten free but I have it every chance I get.

We decided to grab a nice glass of wine and some lunch here after a trip to the art museum. We were thrilled with the find because they had an extensive gluten free menu. And the majority of it was also vegetarian too, which was perfect for me. We ended up splitting 3 different dishes and 1 liter of Pinot Grigio. All were delightful and extremely tasty. The restaurant was a bit dark for our liking, but other than that one minor complaint, everything was fantastic. We will definitely be back again soon!

I gave a bad review before but I deleted it because i went back and had a change of heart. Every restaurant is having trouble finding staff. I was wrong to blame this on any one restaurant in particular because its universal. Bella Monica is fantastic. They also cater to GF better than anyone around. Great food and great atmosphere.

Good food and you can customize (add/remove) things from your meal easily. Make sure to reserve a table beforehand because they can get really busy. At night, the lighting inside is really low/dim. If you’re looking for a romantic vibe or even if you just like dimmer lighting it’s great but personally it wasn’t for me so I’ll probably still to going during the day. If you’re looking for restaurant style sit and eat food but want to be served quickly, this is the place. We were seated, ordered, served our food, ate, and left within about an hour which was great. Definitely recommend!

Fast service. We were seated promptly on a weekend. We were not really hungry and just wanted some caesar salad. Omg
I didn’t expect to have the best caesar salad I have ever had in my entire life. It’s different and even their menu is not the cookie cutter type you always get from other Italian restaurants. We added the Spinaci flatbread to our order and it was excellent as well. Staff were super attentive and I can’t even count how many times we were asked by different staff members/managers if we were okay
.lol. IMO the decor is like Apple Bees on a smaller scale. It is located in a shopping center so parking was ample. Only comment was they need to replace their dead cushions in their booth.
