Great place for some craft drinks and specialty tacos.
The Baja fish was good, but the roasted duck and glazed pork belly were outstanding!
Service was incredibly friendly, engaging, and expedient.
It is busy, and a bit noisy as a result, but still highly recommend.
Please clean the live plants at the entrance; they are so dusty! Other than that, the service was nice and fast, although it is self-order through the app. I had the glazed pork rice bowl and plantains. The plantains and the sauce were so yum. The rice bowl was just okay though - wish they gave more pork.
Went for dinner on a Thursday. I love the atmosphere here! The drinks are a little pricey but my spicy margarita was delicious (this is actually spicy, unlike some places, so be prepared if you order it spicy... IT IS!). The food was good, not great. We got the salsa trio, multiple tacos, the street corn (off the cob) and churros. The pork belly tacos were both of our favorites. I like the Baja fish taco as well! The duck taco tasted like pulled pork. The shrimp taco was definitely my least favorite. The Tuna taco (comes on Lettuce) just tasted like the seasoning, couldnt really taste tuna.The corn was so so... I thought it was under seasoned. Churros were delicious! My fiance loves it here so we'll be back.
Nice place to meet with friends or go with family. I like that if you are with a group each one of you can scan the QR code and order individually to the same table…no need to spit the check.
The food is not incredible but it’s good. I really liked how the kids meal was served to my 10yr old. The guac was good as well as the duck birria appetizer.
Wow what a great quick bite. 5pm on a weekday and there was no wait despite being pretty packed.

Everything about this place is amazing!! The pork belly Taco and street corn is my favorite!! The staff and manager David are so patient and sweet. I love bar taco, this place is my go to, I just wish it was closer to me in Wake Forest!!
Had such a fun dinner with my girls tonight. We were seated promptly, and several employees helped introduce us to the menu. My favorite was definitely the pork belly taco, and the guacamole was also good!!
Want delicious tacos and drinks? This is a great spot for that. I had the Bartaco "green" Margarita, three tacos; chile -like shrimp, glazed pork belly, and roasted duck. All of them were delicious, but the roasted duck was my favorite! End my meal with Churros with the vanilla sauce, and the churros were perfect (not greasy). I insist on trying this place 😋🤤
Dog friendly patio with great tacos and fast service tucked right into North Hills. This restaurant has a unique service model. All your food is ordered online and is brought out to your table. Servers are still present for refills and other needs. We really enjoyed trying several different tacos. Black beans and plantains were both phenomenal sides! Margaritas were great too! Will certainly be back!
My massage therapist told me about bar taco and I finally got there to try it. It was pretty busy for a week night, but they did have one section closed off. The outside area is very nice and I love they have a fireplace out there. We got a small guacamole to start. Not a huge guacamole fan, but I do like trying fresh made. It was really good. Also had the chorizo, Chile lime shrimp, pork belly and baha fish tacos. All were very good and had a good mixture of flavor. The house made sangria was yummy and refreshing. Our server was attentive and answered all our first time visit questions. We enjoyed our visit and would go back to try other items.
Bar Taco has excellent and unique food. The drinks are made fresh. I found the drinks the best very puppy and thick (not my personal favorite). I would 10/10 recommend the duck quesadillas and the salsa trio. The atmosphere was good but the place can get loud.
Delicious street tacos. Be prepared to order more since they were pretty small. My favorites were duck and pork belly, followed by chicken and oyster. Besides the tacos, paloma fresca cocktail and coconut ice cream were really good. Didn’t really like using the QR code to order. I always prefer the traditional menu but not a big problem. Great service and atmosphere. A happy experience overall.
I've been wanting to try this place for a while now.
First, the pros, everything was very tasty, and for that, I will be back. I got the chicken bowl, pork belly, sesame ribeye tacos, and salsa verde w/ chips. The pork belly was my favorite.
Now the cons portions are pretty small as other reviewers mentioned was not expecting that. Didn't check first lol. And everything is a bit pricey given the smaller portions. I got mine to go and had to do a bit of supplementing with what I had on hand.
Overall, I plan to return to try some of their other options and possibly dine in to see how that experience goes.
LOVE THIS PLACE. I went for my first time yesterday. Although, I had to wait 40 minutes (during rush hour) to eat outside, I didn’t mind at all because it was worth the wait. Plus, it is located in North Hills so you can shop around while you wait. You order through your phone and pay online which is super easy. A server will come by at the beginning to explain how to work the online bar code and will continue to check in throughout your dining experience. The online menu has pictures which I am obsessed with. The tacos are so good!! My only complaint is there is no queso!! Overall, 10/10 experience!
Been here a handful of times now and have to say the food and service are super consistent. The vibe is like island/beach and just walking in you want to go ahead and order a margarita. The Staff is gregarious and soooo helpful. Love that they’ve stopped using QR code menus! That was a PITA. The newest and most delicious thing on the menu…. Duck birria. Order 2. Oyster tacos are also a hit. You really can’t go wrong with anything. And seeing that photo in the bathroom from where I grew up was super cool and nostalgic. Bonus points for that!! Tough to find parking here but once you do, it’s worth the trip.
Stopped in for a quick bite while charging my car and after running into the ABC store for some spirits. Great crowd, cool service. Will definitely visit again. Enjoyed a couple of pork belly tacos and a sweet cone chocolate gelato. So tasty and satiated my hunger.

My friend and I were visiting NC and went to another place to eat but the wait was over an hour. She did a Google search and found this gem 💎. The staff was phenomenal. They were so friendly and fun. The music was amazing. It was such a great vibe. Everyone was eating, talking and just having a good time. Everything went smooth from ordering in the app, to getting the, food and paying. Such a cool system as they are a cashless business.
This was our first time so we decided to try random items and O*M*G...great food and drinks for a good price. I definitely recommend.
Great decor and feel to the place. Only ever sat at the bar and have always had great service. Little on the pricier side for this type of food compared to my usual Mexican haunts, but it's one of my girlfriends favorite places and the food does not disappoint. She is vegan and they have a plenty for her to eat which is why it's one of her favorites. Good take on Mexican classics without over doing it. If you're in the area and looking for some good food with a great atmosphere, I would recommend
