El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant in downtown Raleigh, NC is a great place to go for a delicious and authentic Mexican meal. The restaurant has a casual and relaxed atmosphere, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. The menu features a wide variety of Mexican dishes, including tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and fajitas. I highly recommend the El Rodeo Burrito, which is filled with your choice of meat, beans, rice, and cheese, and is topped with a delicious green sauce. Food was good and came out fast. Service was fast and friendly. Prices average for Mexican restaurants and didn't seem to be jacked up for being downtown. Overall great experience. Picture is flautas.

Food: What's a better trio than cheese dip, salsa, and chips. The chips are baked and warm and crunchy. The food feels like someone's grandmother was making magic on the oven. The food comes out hot and fresh. The flavors melt in your mouth. I had the Texas ACP. Shrimp, chicken, steak over a bed of Cheesy rice with steamed onions, tomatoes, and bellpeppers. I couldn't eat it all. The house sangria was a smooth but bitter sweet combo. The service here is always one point. You're seated quickly and greeted. The atmosphere is plain. The bar is super nice. Parking downtown raleigh can be tricky. So govern yourself according.

El Rodeo had been a staple in my food experiences for years, but then the one near my house closed. Fearing another by the same name would not muster up, I avoided it. My friends kept talking it up so finally I went with them last night. I may have found my happy place again. The drinks and food were ON POINT!!! I’ve cheated myself these past few years. Lol I had the largest mango margarita I think I’ve ever had and this dish I ordered… Parillada, shoot, when it came out, my mouth literally could have hit the floor. How the heck was I going to eat all of this. And I DID NOT. lol In the words of the Terminator, “I’ll be back!”

Wonderful service here! They do have a large menu with lots of options to choose from. I ordered their birria tacos, I thought they were okay a tad oily and not the right consistency. However, the fajitas and the quesadilla were great! Ordered their large house margarita and it was good and strong! Located downtown.

House margarita is delicious. Got the Carnitas which was recommended by the bartender and it didn't disappoint.

Went for cinco de Mayo, so naturally it was slammed packed. Seemed they only had 2 waiters in the whole place, but we all know hood help is hard to find. They were doing their best. I got the birria tacos, they were very good but not the best I’ve ever had. But I would go back and try some other items.

A single portion of Parillada was enough for two adults. Food quality was good. The waiter was helpful and nice. The view of the downtown streets is nice from the window seats.

El Rodeo has been a favorite for years. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We eat here very often and never get tired of it. In the heart of Raleigh you have to try them. Food is always cooked to perfection and nothing is ever out of order. They also care about their customers and ensure their safety if any issues arise.

El Rodeo's queso birria tacos are a delicious and authentic Mexican dish that is sure to please. The tacos are made with achiote-marinated beef that is slow-cooked in a flavorful broth until it is fall-apart tender. The beef is then shredded and used to fill corn tortillas that are dipped in a rich and creamy queso sauce. The tacos are then topped with a variety of toppings, including onions, cilantro, and radishes.

Great Mexican restaurant! Great food at great prices! The staff is friendly, helpful, and prompt. Today I got the Pollo Tropical, chicken with queso sauce, pineapple, rice and salad. The chicken was cooked nicely and the flavors were tasty. Have been here several times and will be back again.

I love this place. Small lunch combo with free nachos that will fill you up for about 6.50 plus tip, thats saying something in downtown! I go here 1-2 times per week during lunch and its always busy. They're busy but very efficient and fast. I just ordered food, got it in 10 min or less. Would recommend this place for lunch for those wanting to eat out at a good price in downtown area

El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant is conveniently located near everything important in downtown Raleigh. For me, the meal, chipotle sauce and chips salsa were a bit bland but overall okay. The Margaritas, however, are gigantic and most excellent enough to help you overlook the blandish food. Maybe another try is in order, if only for the Margaritas!

Excellent AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD at a very good price. The Original (in my mind anyway) El Rodeo. Located in Downtown Raleigh. Has a great view and if you have to a little ways after parking it is worth because of the lively scene from Moore Square and beyond !!!

This restaurant definitely stacks up when it comes to price. At my office we lovingly refer to it as El Cheapo. The quality and quantity relative to the price is hard to beat! On my last visit I enjoyed a delicious steak lunch. Despite how busy they get during lunchtime, their staff and service is quick and friendly. There is a surprising amount of seating. If you like Mexican food and are looking for something cheap and fast look no further! You will not be disappointed.
