We stopped at Smithfield’s on the way to the beach. It was really good. We were really hungry and just bought a plate to split, I guess our stomachs shrank. We got the BBQ plate with cole slaw, hush puppies and fries and a sweet tea. I didn’t have to wait in line for too long. They took my order quickly and the food came out quick as well. The BBQ is so good. The sweet tea was perfectly sweet. We ate our plate and were able to get right on the road. They had high chairs and they even had a sink outside of the bathroom, I liked that I didn’t have to go into the bathroom to wash my hands. The tables were all clean. They also have a drive thru. We’ve stopped at Smithfield’s a few times on the way to the beach. We will be back.

This place has friendly staff and great food! The food is always served fresh and the tea is always on point. The restaurant is clean and they’re always ready to serve. Love this barbeque sandwich with slaw! Restaurant is clean and staff walk around checking to see if you need a refill on drinks.
UPDATE, Mgt reached out to make things right. I think they went above and beyond and very quickly. Definitely deserve my continual patronage.
Hadn't been here in awhile and decided to grab a bite. Mgr had to tell cashier to take my order. I decided on the barbecue sandwich and hushpuppies. The hushpuppies get 5. They were good, hot and fresh. The sandwich was not good. The meat was super bland, compared to what I remember in the past and tasted old. I took half the meat off and drenched it in the rib sauce. The bun was already soggy. Didn't have time to turn around and take it back so just threw it away. I should have just gotten the chicken.
Great service, great atmosphere. I wasn't super impressed with the food; I think I was over-hyped to it and should have expected less from a major chain. Strips were large, way bigger than expected, so that is great but it lacked flavor via spices. Hush puppies were good, but also lacked flavor. Fried shrimp were tiny-tiny (underwhelming) but delicious. Barbecue sandwich w/slaw was good. Overall, my only complaint was a flavor pop, but that isn't a negative.
Staff is working hard and polite. Dinning room is clean and food was good. They are understaffed, but working hard like any other restaurant!
The young man behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. They have the best Brunswick stew!!
Been going here since they opened as I used to live right beside Lake Wheeler. Hate to say this but the last few times going here the Brunswick Stew taste off. I don't know if they changed their recipe but something isn't right about it. Please fix this. I'd greatly appreciate it. I mean it's the least you can do for the price you've been charging for it.
Not a knock on atmosphere, I was only there to pick up an order for a graduation party.
My order fed 20 people. Everything was ready on time, and the taste was great as always.
