This is a review of a Japanese restaurant located in Raleigh, North Carolina called Ajisai. We visited around 1:30 pm on a Saturday. It's located in the Cameron Village Shopping Center. We had to drive around for about five minutes to find a parking space since parking is quite limited and it's quite busy on Saturday afternoons. This restaurant is open from 11 am to 10 pm Monday through Thursday, they stay open an additional hour on Friday. Saturday they are open from 11:30 am until 11pm and Sunday they open from noon to 10 pm. Their sanitation score is 95.5 which is very good. We were immediately greeted and seated at a table for two. They have several booths and tables, but it's quite small inside and there is a steady stream of customers. Customers that came in behind us had to wait for a table. It was a bit chilly near the door when the wind was blowing inside each time a customer opened the doors. This restaurant has a very nice atmosphere with lovely decor, but customers are a bit on the loud side so much so that I couldn't hear the music. Read the rest of my review on my blog, link below.
The outdoor seating is so nice here that if we had not just spent 2 hrs outside with the heat index at 103° we would have sat outside. But the indoors is lovely too. Although we came at a weird time of day for late lunch our waitress was very attentive and she could tell we were acquainting ourselves with the menu and was nearby to provide help or take our order. Let me just say, the menu is one of the most attractive menus I've seen, and we just dropped our favorite sushi place since they cannot adapt the menu for gluten free and then they took our signature drinks off the menu, but now we have this place! We started with the Dynamite Rock & Roll, it looked incredible, and the mini pizzas. . It was after this my waitress found out I was gluten free and let me know what I couldn't have known from the menu. I did eat the mini pizzas without the crisp and it was packed with flavor. After that my waitress let me know that most sushi rolls they could make gluten free and I ordered the Ajisai roll. . So delicious and the Raleigh roll & again amazing flavors. We have our new sushi place!!!
bit costy and the seating / vibes were not doing it for me hence the one less star.
overall for quality sushi I'd suggest coming here.
the lobster roll was prettier than it tasted..
girl on fire was nice and the ajisai
We found Ajisai as we were looking for a sushi place and it did not disappoint. I ordered the sashimi deluxe and the mason jar lager, and my wife ordered the crunchy spicy salmon roll and the spider roll.
The sashimi was great, I will definitely be back to savor that again. It was presented uniquely on a large bowl of ice that glowed.
Food was amazing, wine was great. I love the atmosphere and it’s a great place for a date night! The presentation of every dish was unique. We will definitely be back - My sushi plate was on fire!
Food was pretty good. Salmon was great but the sushi was above average. Host was great but our server was a bit slow getting back to us and it wasn't too busy. Loved the outdoor seating. Dishes come served looking great.
I've visited this place a couple of times and I must admit that the food is consistently excellent! 🙆🏼 The fish is quite fresh, which complements the sushi rice's slightly sour flavor. However, during my last visit, the server not paying proper attention to my order, resulting in incorrect orders.
We enjoyed delicious cuisine on a Saturday night! I highly recommend the mini sushi pizza.
I ate here two days in a row. Yesterday I had the tonkatsu Ramen and the scallop appetizer-very good. Today I brought my husband for lunch after church and he really enjoyed it. The lamb chops were very tasty and we enjoyed the seafood dish as well. We had previously ordered takeout from this restaurant and were super impressed and felt that it was, definitely a gourmet food experience. Excellently service also. I will say that for the price some of the dishes are a little on the small side per serving. Especially the scallop appetizer.

Love Ajisai! This is the place that made me fall in love with sushi. The tuna rolls and Manhattan roles are especially delicious. They've got great seaweed salad, chicken fried rice, and Pad Thai as well. The service thus far has been very friendly and prompt. I would definitely recommend it!
I liked eating here and going shopping at nearby stores at Cameron Village. It has great cushy indoor booths but most people tend to prefer to sit outdoors. I enjoyed our salmon truffle and Peking duck roll appetizers. The fish was very fresh but the temperature was a bit warm (prefer my sushi to be cold). The ice cream had good presentation but small quantities. The nigiri was on the pricier side. There are better value spots in Raleigh for sushi, come here for the location mainly.
