Nice spot in Rawlins, WY. To start, I had the Thai Shrimp. It was tasty! However, it is spicy, but I love spicy! My entree was the Lobster Ravioli. That was delicious! There was a ton of cheese on it, but it still was delicious! For dessert, I had the triple chocolate cake, and that was a nice wrap up of my dinner. A definite must if you are passing through Rawlins. Highly recommend!
My husband and I stumbled on this place by accident three years ago and remembered it to be a great dining experience. So on a recent road trip we made a point of planning our route so that we could stop again to see if it was as good as we remembered. It was.
It is the best steak either of us has ever had. (And trust me we've looked!) But it isn't just the food that makes this a great dining experience. The atmosphere of the small dining rooms with great art and great background music, fantastic service and a nice collection of wines and spirits make this a very enjoyable evening.
We will always go out of our way any time possible to enjoy a meal here.
I was really looking forward to eating here after reading previous reviews, but sadly, the food didn't live up to it's hype. I ordered the seafood Alfredo with the Baton Rouge sauce and the flavor was all one note and my husband found this to be true for his food as well. I'm from the south and have eaten similar foods in Savannah, Charleston, and even New Orleans, and the one thing that set those aside from Aspen House, was they all had a variety of flavor notes. I do want to go back and try something else the next time in Rawlins, as I don't like to just judge off of one meal. Also, in previous reviews I've seen others comment about the staff. I do have to say, our waiter was amazing.
I went to check this place out because as I was thumbing through restaurants I noticed something called "Baton Rouge Sauce" on the menu.
I've lived in Baton Rouge the majority of my life and never heard of such a thing, so I had to come see how Wyoming represented my home.
Let me tell you, they got it out the park with this one! It tastes just like something you'd get at some of our more popular restaurants down there and I'd even say it is better than quite a few! I was VERY surprised to see how good this sauce was. I'm definitely going to try to make it back in before I leave Wyoming to try it on another dish.
I apologize for the picture, as I was hungry and only thought to snap a pic after I was halfway through.
Ordered a steak 🥩! The menu didn't give details of the size of the steaks but I was pleasantly surprised! It was a little tough though. I had never had a steak with BBQ sauce on it before. It did have good flavor, but still not sure I liked that or not. Was definitely spendy though, I spent over $50 for just myself, on dinner and a soft drink.
Oh my lord!!!!! This place is so wonderful. I had the Salmon it was huge. The flavor was the best ever. The wait staff were perfect. This is a rare opportunity to eat great food in an amazing environment with great people. I'm impressed..
My family stopped here on a cross country road trip. The food was amazing for a good price. The vibe of the restaurant is like fine dinning. Our server Hailey was extremely pleasant and helpful.
If McDonald’s is one dollar sign, this restaurant is absolutely not deserving of two dollar signs. This is a three or four as far as expense. The menu and waitstaff are not well versed in g/f but in every other way are top-notch. The atmosphere is delightful and food delicious.
