The sushi here is my favorite go to! It's fresh and expertly made. I've been here quite a few times and decided to finally write that review! Our waitress was very nice, attentive, and accommodating! I love how the restaurant was festively decorated with string lights upon entry for the Holidays. In the Summertime, they have little manmade waterfall near the outdoor patio-seating area as well!

We go there regularly & we live in the neighborhood. Excellent service, excellent fish and assortment of other dishes. Highly recommend it.
My favorite sushi place in northern va. It's incredible. Make sure to try the mushroom soup as an appetizer.
Great place. Always fresh. Our favorite sushi place in the area
Love everything about this place. Staff is very professional and the sushi is outstanding!
Fish to rice ratio is superb. Food portions were extremely generous. Fish was fresh and sushi came out very fast. Sesame icecream was delicious. Will be coming back again
This is the BEST sushi place. The service is awesome. The sushi is out of this world. We eat here so much they treat us like family! Love you all at Ariake!!!!
The sushi is fresh and I really loved the steak teriyaki.
Wonderful people, food, ambiance, and service! Thank you for a wonderful dinner experience!
Thanks Ariake! I never eat such large Ankimo in Japan.
I will come again.
By far the best Sushi/Sashimi/Nigiri in the Herndon/Reston area. High quality rolls and fish.
I always get great service, delicious food and its at a great price for what is served.
Excellent sushi, sashimi, Bento boxes..........
Best sushi in Reston hands down. Always fresh and good!
We've eaten here more than any other sushi restaurant, and have yet to be disappointed!
This Japanese joint is the real deal - the tuna is raw and scrumptious, the sushi is a work of art, and the service is on point. The big rock plate is a classy touch that elevates the experience, and the chef's creativity shines through in the flavors and presentations. If you're looking for a top-notch Japanese restaurant, look no further than this place - it's fire! 🔥
The sushi rolls were really great. Definitely will be back for that alone. The chicken teriyaki was not good though, rather dry.
Went back after many years and we were pleasantly surprised. Packed for a weekend night. Service was a little slow but understandable for the crowd. Wide array of sushi rolls and sashimi. Glad we rediscovered this neighborhood restaurant.
My favorite Japanese place closed during the pandemic, and so I've been looking for a new favorite place. Ariake is an excellent place to get great Japanese dishes and sushi.
If you're looking for great food at a reasonable price, Ariake is a good start. Their sushi is very fresh compared to other restaurants in the area and they have decent happy hour specials. I would avoid the ramen and stick to sushi if possible as they're more known for it. Bento boxes pack a good value for $14-$16 and the menu offering has something everyone can eat.
Yummy sushi spot in Reston. Enjoyed the spider roll, salmon, tuna and yellowtail. Recommend their hot dishes as well, gentrify and udon.
Excellent sushi spot in Reston. The place is a little pricey compared to other spots but the quality of the fish is exceptional. Great lunch specials and friendly staff. This is a go to spot for take out or a business lunch for me.
Group of 5 for a Friday night and the place was packed. Took some time for a table which is expected. Despite it being full the staff were calm, efficient, and polite. I've also never seen so many sushi chefs working at once! Everything was tasty, and when our waitress saw us trying to divide the check she *offered* to split it for us. Would love to go at a less busy time to get the full experience.
I love their sushi. The quality is always consistent! Service is very rapid.
Food was excellent. Service wasn't as good as it has been most other times. And I don't remember it ever being this way before but it was super busy even at 5pm on Friday. Could swear it used to be that it didn't get busy until later, now like 6-7p. When it gets full, it gets very loud. But the food is delicious. Recommend the agedashe tofu, the Ariake roll, the tekka don, and the yose nabe.
First time here but the sushi rolls were very good quality and very delicious.
I would have given 5 stars but the service was hot or miss. We sat outside which is a very sought after seating but the wait staff wasn't very attentive. The inside area is nice as well.
I would definitely go back but would sit inside. The bottle of saki was so good we got 3 bottles of it.
🍣 rolls were on point!!
fish was fresh and had a very clean taste - no weird after taste. they didn’t put too much rice on the rolls either so it doesn’t fill u up. also the rest of the sushi flavors weren’t drowned out by the white rice.
service was good and accommodating.
i even got a bottle of sake on the side with my sushi. if i had to sum it up in one word: DIVINE 😃
As a native japanese man from the hilltops of sapporo, japan on the island of Hokkaido, i am typically VERY harsh on many japanese wannabe restaurants. However, i must say this was relatively decent. The only thing that i would have to say that in the land of the rising sun, the food is typically not THAT expensive. Therefore, if my fellow brothers and sisters in ariake can improve their supply chain systems to reduce the price, id give this place 5 stars. other than that, nice attempt to getting close to the real deal !
Some of the best sushi I've had in this area. It is a little more expensive than other sushi restaurants we've been to but you will notice the quality here is so much better.
Can’t wait to go back! Heard about this place from friends over the years but never had a chance to visit. Food and service was really great! Only downside was the acoustic in the dining area was not as good as it should be. You can hear the conversation from 3-4 tables away, causing customers to talk even louder to carry a conversation.
I lived in Reston for a while before leaving, but a friend of mine recently brought me back and we found this secret hole in the wall place. The avocado sushi, sake (hot and cold) and wine selection was great. Not only that, but the service was fantastic despite the fact that the place was packed.
I also appreciate that the waitress (I didn’t get her name, but she was the only white young girl working) allowed me to order off the dinner menu during lunch because the dinner menu had more vegetarian options. I got vegetarian soba with a side of sweet potato pancakes, which was delicious. The only negative is that the soba noodles tasted like they might have been undercooked.
I cannot compare their quality with other Japanese restaurants' I have been to in the entire dmv area. And the creativity, master skills, and selection is one of a kind. The wait staff is super attentive, friendly, and always recommends the special which I rarely get from other places. It's so nice to see the manager there always looks out for his employees and the customers and was very knowledgeable on how to choose the tasty sake for us.
