We had Allie as our wonderful server. So pretty and personable. She made sure our drinks stayed full and that our food was perfect. Great hushpuppies, fantastic seafood dip with lots of cheese and chips. My fish sandwich was really good, as was my wife's surf and turf quesadilla. Wish we lived closer, so we could be regulars there.
Awesome location on the river by Ft Macallister. I loved their walk up tiki bar and outside dining option. Can't beat the nautical atmosphere or the food. I had the Low Country Boil (the big one) and I left there stuffed to the gills! Everything on the plate was delicious and plentiful. A full pound of shrimp was just about my limit. Cant wait to go back and tackle it again.
We're staying at the state park down the street and came here for lunch. Everything was so good that we came back again for dinner! I'm sure we'll be back several more times before we leave. The atmosphere is beautiful, the drinks are good and the food is fantastic!
Atmosphere at Fish Tales is on point! Tiki hut bar and seating around outside right next to the water. Always a favorite in my book. 5 stars.
Service was disappointing. Sat at the bar which is our preferred place at most restaurants. Bartender was less than interested in her customers. She did not ask if we had ever been at Fish Tales nor tell us the specials for the day. I happened to look at their website and stated on Tuesday’s it is $5 margaritas and 50% off tacos. That’s a big selling point to me. So I had to confirm that those details were correct. In which they were. Had to ask several times for basic items napkins, silverware, condiments. 2 stars.
Food was pretty good. Ordered the Super Seafood Dip (served hot or cold) and we ordered hot. Good favor and felt it was as advertised. Heard about the hush puppies and they were delicious! Finally, got the Chef Hef Tacos with blackened shrimp and Ahi Tuna Tacos (not on the 50% special but was told upfront). Chef Hef Tacos was the winner of the two dishes. Shrimp was very tasty with the Asian slaw combo. The Ahi Tuna Tacos was just trying too hard with so many ingredients piled in. Not necessary in my opinion. The sauce distracted from the flavor of the tuna. 4 stars.
***Please like & share our reviews.*** Handicap accessible with some challenges. This place is a hidden gem. Has fresh made seafood and sides. We ordered kids meals, shrimp baskets, seafood dip and onion petals.
Our server was Abbey. She was so sweet and polite. Our guests were new to USA and she helped them decide on which food to order. She was extremely attentive to our needs for refills ect. She even connected us with a local charter boat company so our friends can see dolphins and fish.
There are seating options both outdoors and indoors with excellent views of the marina docks. The kids loved watching the boats. Was a rainy afternoon so the sunset was somewhat of a bust but still a beautiful view.
The food was hot and delicious except for the coleslaw. The coleslaw was kind of dry so we didn't really eat it. The onion petals were okay but were actually super thin onion rings. We recommend ordering a different appetizer. The coconut shrimp was excellent as well as the seafood dip. We ordered it hot. Def get some hushpuppies. The kids fish meal was made with white fish and the portion was large enough that both of our 5 and 6 yr old could share. Will def be visiting again but will reserve a charter next time followed by sunset dinner.
Excellent service & food! Fish Dip for appetizers with onsite made chips delicious & must have! Fish tacos and the blackened fish penni alfredo were delicious!! Seated by the window to overlook the bay and boats or optional outdoor seating as well.
Great Food and the best service ever. Maddie, our server was so kind and helpful. She kept us smiling and made it a wonderful afternoon. ♥️♥️♥️
I just love this place. The setting on the water is just so coastal low country perfect. The interior is colorful and fun. The staff are laid back and still attentive. For food we had various fish tacos all were great my favorite was the house with blackened fish and a sweet crunchy slaw. The Fish sandwich lived up to its promise on the menu and the spicy fries were a winner. Do yourself a favor and try this quaint gem.
If I had one thing I'd change, I'd add TVs for football in the dining room.
Great dinner and bar spot right up on the water! Atmosphere was fun outside and the food was divine. Highly recommend the hush puppies with the honey butter as a starter. Outside seating is dog friendly! We will be back for more.
The staff was very good, and we definitely had no complaints about food. We sat outside and even though it was a warm day the breeze coming off the water felt great.
