From the moment I walked in the door at Bistro 27, I felt welcome. It was a very cozy, family-friendly atmosphere. We visited on 12/21 and the Bistro was decorated so beautifully for Christmas. We had the pleasure of speaking with and being served by William the owner. He is FABULOUS. I cannot say enough great things about him. He was very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing and reasonable priced. I had beef ravioli. I would definitely recommend the Bistro and we will be back to try the brunch menu.
Absolutely amazing!!! From the moment we walked in, I knew this was going to be a lovely evening. The shrimp and scallops were to die for. Our wine glasses were always full. The wait staff were aware of our every need without being annoying. We were able to carry on a conversation without screaming over other noises. I would recommend Bistro 27 for a relaxing evening out with special friends. I will return, soon!! - found out after we got home, they do have parking available.
This is now my favorite restaurant in Richmond....and I have been to a ton of them. The atmosphere, friendly staff, incredible service and AMAZING FOOD was such a pleasant surprise. I was just interested in trying something new and found Bistro 27 on Open Table. My salmon and Caesar salad were fabulous...even the bread was amazing. And the staff makes you feel like every meal is made especially for you....owner/manager came and served us and talked regularly in a helpful way. Great Friday night!
Great company event at Bistro 28 last night. Perfect size for 100 or so folks. Intimate enough but still plenty of room great staff. Great food.

Incredible food and owner. The sauces that complemented the proteins were the best in Richmond!
Food was great and the server recommended the great pairing of the chardonnay and the salmon. Couldn't have been a friendlier atmosphere.
A wonderful experience with a relaxing ambience. A must-do on your list for fine dining with delicious entrees. Had the wonderful pleasure of meeting the owner and glad to say I'll be a regular...
Had a last minute change (for the 2nd time) for our dinner destination with friends, but my wife and I were already standing in Bistro 27 when we got the message to meet elsewhere. Noticing my wife’s anxious face from running around in the cold and now having to go back out, owner, William Wright, graciously insisted we relax for a moment and have a drink on him. He showed no offense that we weren’t dining in his fine establishment but just invited us to pause and enjoy each other and his hospitality. His generosity stirred up in me a sense of thankfulness for our RVA community. Will be returning to Bistro 27 in the near future.
Really amazing food. The atmosphere is great and what a view. Great for watching a show then having some food afterward.
Very nice restaurant, in the heart of downtown right across from the Maggie L. Walker statue what a view.the waitresses very friendly.

We were here on a office holiday lunch, such a cozy and classic dine in restaurant. Ordered seared salmon, its cooked to perfection. But portions are too small. Chicken roast tasted good as well. Wonderful deserts, especially tiramisu and chocolate torte were so yummy.
Simply elegant Italian-American restaurant with a relaxed & quiet aura. My wife & I ordered Escargots (appetizer), Tomato Basil (soup of the day), Duck Breast with orange garlisque, polenta & vegetables and Lamb Osso (five-hour braised shank) with polenta & vegetables (entrèes). Our waitress went out her way to give my wife a non-alcoholic cocktail as I drank Brooklyn Lager; which was a nice compliment. We enjoyed our evening listening to light music in a lightly dimmed and quiet environment within the restaurant. One thing that stood out to me was their kitchen/grill by the bar area where you can view the chef cooking. Lastly, the pricing I placed as moderate; due to my experience eating at Italian-American specialty restaurants and the common price range for dishes. For the price, it's worth it--in my opinion.
Went on a Thursday, pretty quiet only one other couple there celebrating a birthday. The server, Jess, was very kind and attentive. The cook as well was kind and wished us well. Jess was very knowledgeable about the menu and answered all our questions. Will return for sure!
Food was delicious. Very calm and chill atmosphere and staff was very friendly. Wife got the Benedict Biscuits w/ Salmon
Don't let the white tablecloths and well dressed staff make you this this place is unapproachable. Nice people and top notch food. Noise level is very low so conversation is easy. Sit at the bar and watch the kitchen put it all together. I had the Scallops and they were excellent. Served with some perfectly grilled vegetables. My wife was looking for something lighter and chose the grilled Pear salad. Loved it. Nice people, great food and not just for special occasions. You'll be glad you went.
We can't say enough amazing things about our experience at Bistro 27. We have been coming here for 7 years now celebrating our anniversary and the place where we had our first dinner date. Each year they always accommodate us so nicely. They let us reserve the same table that we sat at on our first date. Overtime, it's become like family to come back and dine here. The manager remembers us, and takes time to catch up on life and what's been going on. He also treated us to champagne on the house, which was so unexpected and super kind to help us celebrate.
On top of ALL that, it is one of the best dining experiences we've ever had in Richmond. The food is 5 star, and the menu is always changing to something new, delicious, and exciting. The ambiance of the restaurant is very inviting, warm, and allows for a nice fine dining experience. We will definitely continue to come back here for years to come! Go see for yourself!
My girlfriend and I came in on a 6:00 PM reservation on March 6, 2020 and had a wonderful experience. She ordered the scallops and I ordered the Atlantic Salmon and the food was very good! The service was incredible too, and very friendly even though we clearly weren’t familiar with upscale restaurant etiquette. We don’t know much about upscale restaurants but this was a great experience for myself and her.
The wonderful staff members that we had tonight were: Melissa, John, Kyle, and the manager on duty was William Wright. Thank you all for a great experience!
I visited Bistro 27 last night in a group of 6 last night. We had such a nice experience with all aspects of our visit. We had a warm and friendly welcome and felt immediately comfortable. The menu is limited, but in a good way. There were enough options for all to be satisfied with their selection. I’ve been to too many restaurants where the menu’s are overwhelming and frustrating when trying to make a decision. At Bistro, they seem focused on wanting to offer a selection catering to vast interests without overwhelming guests.
The food was fantastic and the service was reminiscent of quality customer service of the good old days, personal and professional. We look forward to visiting again.
We hosted the rehearsal dinner for my son and daughter in law's wedding at Bistro 27 two weeks ago. it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. William made the entire process so seamless and enjoyable!! The food was wonderful and the service was outstanding. The icing on the cake was that William kept the restaurant open after the dinner was over for our out of town guests to join us for a cash bar and complimentary appetizers. It was so nice and convenient to stay at the restaurant and enjoy the company of our friends who were not invited to the rehearsal dinner! Everyone had a great time and told us how good the food and service was. Overall, a fantastic evening. I am so very happy we chose Bistro 27!!!
We just visited to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary and were delighted by our experience. A year ago, we had our rehearsal dinner at Bistro27, which was exceptional in its own right, so we wanted to go back to celebrate. Upon entering, we were immediately recognized by William who warmly introduced us to our waiter for the evening. We were treated to wonderful drinks, service, and food throughout the evening. Our server, John, was excellent and checked in on us throughout our meal without intruding on our conversation. First, I had an incredible peach salad followed by the Crispy Duck Breast— I was floored by how delicious it all turned out. It was paired with perfectly seasoned brocollini and mashed potatoes. Exquisite. My wife ordered the lamb dish and thoroughly enjoyed it as well. After our main course, we had to order the cheesecake because we remembered it fondly from our tastings and rehearsal dinner. We were not disappointed, as the cheesecake disappeared seconds after arriving on our table. We lovenBistro27 and are excited to come back for more wonderful dinners and brunches throughout the year!
