We were walking by on Easter Sunday after church and they were roasting a delicious lamb on the sidewalk. We immediately changed our lunch plans and were well rewarded. We had the lamb special, and even the bed of rice it was on was heavenly. The side salad is not something I usually like, but it was delicious with the yogurt dressing they provided. The potatoes tasted like a cross between roasted potatoes and salt and vinegar chips without the salt. We got a side of hummus and it was garlicky and full of flavor. My son got dessert and it was fantastic. We ran into a friend who got the Gyro, and he said the meat was medium rare, flavorful and delicious instead of a suspicious boring brown. He said it was the best Gyro he's ever had.
We were helped by Sophie who was friendly and helpful. The service was delightful despite the place being very busy.
This is the best Greek food I have ever had at a restaurant. We will be coming back the next time we are in town.
Whenever I’m in a strange city I search out it’s Greek restaurants and I am rarely happy. That said, this place is, hands down, the best Greek food I have ever had! Plus everyone who had helped us from the hostess to our server to our bartender were friendly and accommodating. The lemon potatoes are a treat!
Planning a trip to DC in July, I may make a stop over here for late lunch!
One of my favorites in Richmond! I usually get the platter with chicken, rice and beans. Their gyros are really good too! And you can't forget a spanny for your app and baklava for dessert. The food is always great and the service is fantastic. From the waitstaff to the people who work behind the counter and the line, the employees are always super friendly and accommodating. I've been coming here since they opened and it's great to watch them expand and improve!
Thanks Greek on Cary, y'all rock!!
This is hands down my favorite place in RVA. It is the absolute best food ever. The owner is amazing and helpful to his staff. Super humble and awesome. Im so happy about the expansion and the success they are having. Any time I have friends visit from my original home NYC or any visitors at all I take them here so they can be wowed. Love it love it love it!!!!!
My first impression: Relaxing cool atmosphere, like a fusion of mod and traditional. Must have Saganaki with a glass of Greek wine followed by spanakopita before the delicious beeftek. Yummy Delicious Greek cuisine, we recently relocated to Richmond and appreciate the warm welcoming service felt like meeting a new friend. Thank you!
GREAT food and GREAT service! My first time here recently and I'll definitely be back! The owner certainly aimes to please! The branzino was to die for along with the calamari, Greek salad, and mouthwatering, tender lamb....should I go on??!!
Great food exceptional service and extremely friendly staff!!! Local favorite Greek food in the heart of beautiful carytown!!!
The spanakopita and tyropita were heavenly - so crispy and full of flavor. The tzatziki and hummus, again, so full of flavor. I'm looking forward to going back for a gyro! εξαιρετική!!!
This is the best Greek food and customer service at the bar you could ask for! Favorite place! AWESOME!!
The ambiance, the food, the service... it’s all amazing. Special shot out Alex, he’s one of the best! 💜
This place is so wonderful! Everyone had such a wonderful attitude and smile! Our server gave great recommendations considering it was my first time. She even gave us a delicious dessert! I will definitely be back to indulge
How have I missed this place all this time? It’s beautiful inside the and the Calamari and Greek Salad was delish. My experience was great - like a brief trip back to Greece.
Greek on Cary! A wonderful lunch and dinner spot! I’ll begin with their flexible seating arrangements with a small bar(seats 8), private patio seating and a spacious indoor dining area with lots of natural light and fun decor! They only have a few, servers/bartenders and I had one make a drink off the menu and I had her freestyle a drink with two ingredients I picked out! She’ll get you straight! Greek fries, feta, lamb, fresh cut homemade fries with taziki sauce on the side. Lamb is well seasoned, not too rare and cooked right to the perfect chew! Fries are definitely made in house. They are very good, not too salty and have a very soft savory flavor. The feta is very good and just melts in your mouth and pairs very nicely with the lamb! doing and I trust that she will deliver you not only excellent service and great conversation but she will make sure you got the best tasting medicine if you like to make your own drink! Alex is the owner and I had the pleasure of seeing him take initiative to help the servers during the busy lunch rush which was big in my book from a former bartender/server! My first drink was the Pineapple basil bourbon smash drink is refreshing and balanced with a nice dried pineapple garnish, my meal was just as good! Greek lamb Pita wrap: we have tomatoes, lettuce, lamb, red onion and taziki sauce wrapped up into a savory filling cocoon. Of you aren’t full after those lamb fries, you’ll definitely be full after these pitas! They are seasoned to the T! I’m a big fan of lamb and there’s very few places locally that serve it and I must say whether it be on fries topped with feta or in a pita paired with lettuce and tomato, Greek on Cary has some of the best lamb in the city! If you haven’t tried Greek on Cary yet, I highly recommend you add it to your list!
Greek style gyro was AMAZING! Great portion for the price too. My wife absolutely loved her Bronzini as well! The meat was flaky and perfectly prepared. Fell off the bone like butter!
The unique decor is a nice touch and the ambiance was magnificent. Moreover, the service was stunning! The waitress was very nice, friendly, attentive and definitely knew how to advertise the dishes. She was so enthusiastic that you'd end up ordering more than you could eat just for the sake of not missing out.
Now the most important aspect, the food was decent, but not mind blowing, in my opinion. I'll just describe one but the most important dish, to my mind. Among other dishes, we ordered the mixed grill so that we could have a taste of all different grilled meat options. I must say some of these were a bit tough, dry, under seasoned and most importantly they all could use a bit more flavor. The cut of the gyro showed space for improvement as well. Now I might still be nitpicking here, since the food overall is tasty nonetheless.
Cary Town is always tricky when it comes to finding a parking spot during rush hour, so be prepared! And this restaurant is also fairly busy, so wait time is not unexpected. Nevertheless, the place is worth a visit!
Generous portions, relaxing atmosphere and flavor-filled food make this a pleasant place to enjoy a meal with friends. Indoor and patio seating is available. Our server was attentive, but so very nice to have a chilled carafe of water on the table so we were never waiting for a beverage.
They have a nice beer, wine and cocktails list but the $3 Narragansett Lager pint can was irresistible on a summer afternoon.
Highly recommended!
Went on a busy Saturday evening. With a friendly smile were were seated quickly. The scene was pleasant with bench seats along the wall and marble textured tables. Fresh flowers shared the space with our silverware wrapped in a soft velvety hand towel. Ordered 3 mini gyros and a small platter to share. Enjoyed the meal, but it was nothing memorable. Chicken kebab was dry, fries were soggy (authentic Greek, as they were usually soggy there as well). I ordered a few extra taziki sauces and enjoyed the meal.
This was my first time going. My friends that I went with had been several times prior to. I will definitely return. Great food, prices, portions and atmosphere.
Stopped in on the way through town and was looking for something great to eat. Amazing and great tasting greek food. Definitely recommend the lamb gyro and chicken gyro platter. Reasonably priced lunch and large portions left you feeling contently full :)
Th eggplant spread was out of this world! Meat lovers, this is your go to restaurant. Vegetarian, do not worry, you will not regret eating here. I highly recommend the stacked grilled vegetable dish, but do tell them to grill them well. If you go on the weekend, plan on a 15 to 20 minutes wait. It is worth it though, so don’t go far away.
Amazing place, best gyros in the area! I always get the Lamb gyro. the cuts of meat are huge and real not processed. and all the ingredients are super fresh. I also get the hummus side sometimes and the portions are quite generous for the price and delicious. Plus the prices are great and the food is always ready in a flash. Love eating here
My husband and I dined here on Wednesday and absolutely loved it! Cocktails were well balanced, portions were big and the quality of the food was amazing! Waitress was friendly, atmosphere was great and we cannot wait to come back 🥰dishes pictured are grilled octopus, Greek nachos ( must) and lamb platter . Cocktails was a mezcal one and a mint vodka one. We will be back again for happy hour
Very charming atmosphere, sometimes a bit loud. The food is really nice, I've gotten both chicken platters and both were lovely. I don't know where they get their feta, heaven maybe? I don't think I've had a higher quality cheese in my life. I've been both in-person and carry out, and both times had lovely service from the staff. I look forward to my next visit.
Absolutely loved it! Went with my mom and girlfriend and we were all impressed. The Winter sangria is amazing and highly recommended. Small but cozy location that's well decorated and feels very communal and comfortable. Usually I leave a five star for places that really deserve a 3-4 because I would feel bad otherwise but this place genuinely easily earned a five star rating.
Amazing place, delicious food and friendly staff. I wish I could eat lunch every day at this restaurant, you can tell by the taste of the veggies that they are raised local - real organic taste. I’m from southeast Europe and I recognize the authentic taste of tomatoes. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

Amazing food and very cute decor
really good good but be aware of the time that you go. my friend and I went on a busy friday night where we had to wait 20 min for a table. not the end of the world but they were swamped with costumers. i got the lamb gyro platter and overall it was a little too salty for my taste. and the meat, though well seasoned, was a bit chewy. my friend got the lamb gyro wrap and said the meat was a bit chewy. overall i would come again but possibly on another day.
Super intimate setting that is uniquely decorated. We had platters, one with shrimp and the other with chicken. They gave hefty portions and the meat was seasoned to perfection, though the chicken was a tad dry. My only gripe was that the salad wasn't as nutritious, only consisting of iceberg lettuce. Really, that's just nitpicking because I ate it all. The dressing on top of the salad was delicious. Oh, and the stuffed grape leaves were amazing, especially after drizzling some lime juice on them. Great place with welcoming staff.
Good food. The chicken was a little bit dry and we waited 25 min to get a table
