The Bao Wow buns are popular for a reason! We've had them the last three times we've come in and they're always 10/10. The Chinese ramen is delicious. The kimchee fried rice was good but frozen veggies and not super crispy were a minus. Mixed drinks can be hit and miss but the beers and ciders on draft are always decent. If you're in the Fan District and looking for a new dinner spot, Foo Dog will do just the trick.

Absolutely love the menu of this place, super creative, unique, eye-catching and hearty. I really wish I could’ve gotten everything, it all looked soooo good. And at an amazing price, too! Everything pretty cheap, which makes this place the perfect balance of super awesome, unique food at an affordable price in a chill environment. I only barely stepped inside the restaurant to get my food, but the atmosphere felt cool and the little service I did get was polite and fast. Really can’t think of any complaints, this place is a very unique Asian restaurant that has a mix of Korean to Thai and everything in between, which is super fun to have an option for. Would definitely come back and recommend to others!

Good atmosphere and good food. Tried the Ramen, Gyoza and the pork buns and everything was really flavorful at a reasonable price. We sat at the bar and service was attentive and very friendly. I'd likely return if I find myself coming through Richmond again.

Fish tacos are ok the best part is the shell. The real treats are the noodles. I got one of the curry dishes and customized it and it was so good. I wanna drive 5 hours just to come back again.

Visited Foo Dog for the first time and was impressed! We started with some Pork Gyoza (Pan Fried Dumplings) which we’re definitely in contention for the best we’ve ever had! I had the Japanese Ramen which was great and my husband had the Chinese Ramen! The portions were huge so more than filling! Would recommend this place!

A weeb paradise with anime playing on the projector, but make no mistake the food is a One Punch knockout. The bao wow (buns) pack a huge punch with soft and delicate buns and flavorful plum sauce over tender pork belly. I got the Japanese Ramen with Chasu pork, the addition of seaweed and mushrooms added a saltiness balanced by the creaminess of the yolk from the egg (+$1). My fiancé got the Malaysian style Ramen with shrimp, the broth was gorgeous and highlighted coconut milk and lemongrass. It was eloquently balanced, the shrimp was grilled off a skewer and paired well with this particular style of Ramen. You'll be pleased with your dish, the service, and the upbeat environment that fills the restaurant. I'd be remissed if I didn't mention the music playlist was excellen. Say hi to Katie for us!

I liked the food and atmosphere. It does get pretty crowded but I got there shortly after opening for the day so I didn't have to wait.

Absolutely amazing. I got the fried tofu and the Malaysian style ramen. It was the best tofu and ramen I have even had. The flavors were perfect, and the ramen had just enough spice to have the flavor but not be over the top. Prices were well within reason. If you're passing through here it is a must visit!

Overall a good experience. Food and service was great. The KFC was juicy and crispy. The fried tofu was okay, it got soggy quickly. The satay was also okay. My friends had the malaysian ramen and they thought it was great, so I'd try that next time I come.

The food overall was good especially the Bao buns. The atmosphere is nice, there’s cool art and reasonable prices. We tried the Japanese Ramen and Malaysian Ramen. Both broths were excellent however, the “cha shu” pork was a bit too fatty so it was hard to chew thus not being able to even eat most of it and the chicken was too dry. Would’ve been nice if the pork had some crisp to it at least.

Looking for super tasty Asian street comfort food? Look no further. I've been here no less than 20 times and have never been disappointed. All the apps are fun and tasty. A nod towards the gyoza, squud, and Shazam shrimp. All the Ramen is fantastic but our favorite is the Malaysian style. Soft boil egg is a must. It's always affordable here and the week day specials are sometimes awesome. Cocktails are made strong and refreshing. Go here if your visiting Richmond. It's a classic in the VCU area. Not fancy... but darn good.

Very cool atmosphere and service staff were very attentive and friendly. The Japanese Ramen was delicious, Malaysian Ramen was a little bland for my taste. Calamari was perfectly fried. Chicken satay was tasty. Get the KFC chicken and Pad Thai. Drinks are made properly.

We all ordered the Bao Wow. It was super rich, but was cut nicely with the fresh cilantro and sweetness from the plum sauce. The service was quick, the waitress was helpful. I can't wait to come back! I heard that this was one of the best places to eat in Richmond, and I have to agree!

We had noodles here on Sunday evening. They did the Japanese Ramen wrong (totally not like the pictures I saw), Chinese Ramen well, and the Udon noodle nicely. It was super super noisy so I don't recommend family visit during this time frame. Service was good. Overall it's a fine dining place at Richmond city.

Food quality is great. The curried noodles were absolutely amazing. Loved the bao, gyoza, tofu, and shrimp appetizers (all cooked perfectly). Prices are really fair too.

After visiting this place, I definitely want to go back again! I had the Japanese ramen w/ chasu pork and it was amazing. The staff is really nice. However, I would try to avoid going during peak hours because it is very crowded and so loud that it can be hard to hear even the person right next to you.
