After receiving news of the Tobacco Company's fire, I had to scramble to find a nice place for my son's rehearsal dinner. Jillian, at Sam Miller's was fantastic. Responsive and accommodating! The night of the rehearsal dinner, we arrived early and some of the wedding party arrived earlier than planned. Jillian and the staff quickly responded and accommodated everyone earlier than expected. The Warehouse Room was fabulous and the staff was superb. The food was nicely prepared and hot when it was served for 40 people. I took note that plates were cleaned. Super staff, super food and most of all, they made the night extra special.
I had a breakfast there last Sunday for my out-of-town relatives who came to my grandsons wedding. Sam Miller's was the perfect place. The special room we had, the food and the service were just great. I would certainly recommend Sam Miller's to my friends.
Love Sam Miller's!!! Excellent seafood and steaks. The best fried oysters, crab cakes, and crab dip I have ever had!!! They can cook a juicy, perfectly medium rare steak too! Wait staff are wonderful and very attentive. Rhian, owner and chef, is such a great person and cooks with passion and it shows!!!
We went there before seeing Dirty dancing at the Altria Theater. The food and service were fantastic!!

We came in during Happy Hour last month and we were treated INCREDIBLY by both the bartender and the manager! Also, Chef Tony knows what he’s doing because the food was unreal. We sat at the bar, but based on our experience the place should’ve been packed because of everything here was perfection. From the prices, to the service, to the food everything was fantastic. The food was cooked just right and well seasoned and I’m usually pretty picky. This place and it’s staff is a GEM that I refuse to gatekeep!
The bartender asked us if we wanted to paint pumpkins and of course as any two people in their mid-twenties would, we responded with “Yes please!”. She laid out a paper that covered the bar, paints, brushes, glitter and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Truly going above and beyond with exception service!
Even if she hadn’t given us that experience she still was a fantastic server and I just wish I caught her name. We ordered from the Happy Hour menu 2 draft beers that we’re $2 off at that time, the calamari and NC Pork BBQ Sliders. The drinks, food, service was fantastic, also you can’t beat $1.75 for their fresh Oysters On The Half Shell!
Solid happy hour. Great prices. Excellent location. Didn't try any food, but the drinks were tasty.
Will definitely be back.

I visited Sam Miller's on a Monday night. I had the scallops and an Alabash White. They paired well together. Service was fast and friendly without being overbearing. Mondays seem to be quiet, and I'm confident that the weekends fill up quickly!
Place is beautiful but it was empty. Stayed anyway. We were doing restaurant week. Had 2 drinks and the 3 courses. Food was ok service was good but in the middle of dinner there was a bad smell of cleaning products. It was so bad ir really ruined our meal.
If you want a warm, cozy, and upscale / casual dining experience, this is the place. The dinners we four had were expertly prepared and tasty.....there were no take out containers at this table. Our food server Allie was delightful and the cocktails prepared by Andrea were superb!!!
Overall a really great time for an intimate conversation or business meeting. For the price I was expecting a little more flavor. The chicken picatta was fried perfectly, but the sauce was a little odd. Salmon and rice was much better dish and had great reviews from friends. Potatoes were a perfect consistency but slightly bland. Same with vegetables. Simple, but good one time dinner. May just expand to new menu items next time.
We had rehearsal dinner for my son and daughter in law at Sam Miller’s Restaurant on 4/7/23. The manager, Ken Wall, was so professional, helpful, accommodating and made sure everything was perfect!
Todd, Chef Tony, Will & Alli were awesome and ensured everyone was taken care of. The food, service, & atmosphere was wonderful!
It was the perfect location for their rehearsal dinner as their wedding was at The Main Street Station.

We were debating between 3 restaurants on this block & made the right choice! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was comfortable but nice. Our server, Todd made our dining experience fantastic! He was awesome!! The cook/chef (believe named Tony) also came out to make sure the food was great... which it was!!

Tony is the BEST chef here. His crabcakes are the best I've had outside of Maryland. I had to have my server call him out so I could personally thank him and just so happen he was walking by and I asked was he the chef. He was such a humble and kind gentleman. He was not only preparing food for tables but he had also been attending to a party in the area where events are being held and he was holding it down! Please give him his kudos and the kitchen staff for supporting him. He is a huge asset to this establishment. Looking forward to the next visit.
I was on my way back to Virginia Beach and stopped in. The food, atmosphere and service was worth all this and more.
Nice atmosphere and unique experience! Oysters on the half shell were delicious and the extra kick in the cocktail sauce was welcome! Bar tender, staff, and the chef were all nice and personable! Thanks for a fun night!
MUST TRY: the coffee Ice cream sandwich is to die for and is one of the best desserts I've had anywhere!
We had the Cosmopolitans, the classic and Manhattan drink with the oyster samplers mashed potatoes crab soup with a chicken Caesar salad. We only had light meals because we had previously eaten 1hr prior to going. However everything was still filling and really good! Our 2nd time eating here.. The 1st time was not so good maybe because it was take out but we decided to try it again... Pricy but not to bad for 2 people close to $100 including tips.. The staff was awesome and so was the owner! I will go back for dine in.. If you are visiting the area like we are you should try it.
Excellent night! Chef Tony came out to greet us, helped with our dinner selections. Made great recommendations. The food was great, chef blessed us with a surprise! Todd did a fabulous job waiting on us while training a new server! Would definitely return and recommend. Great wine choice and dessert!
