My favorite place in RVA! Phenomenal food and drinks. The ambiance is very modern and fresh. I love the outside seating. I'm a vegetarian and the chef always makes me vegetable enchiladas that are to die for, my boyfriend is a meat eater and said he had the best burger he's ever had in his life. I really enjoyed this place when they were located in the west end, this was my first trip to the new downtown location and it was better than I had remembered. I will definitely be back!
Started with the flight of sangria. Trio of guacamole. Bourbon Chipotle Steak Tacos. The vibe was warm, the service friendly and excellent. The drinks and food definitely the best Mexican fare in Richmond. Don't forget to try Maria's Margarita! Easily one of the best restaurants in RVA.
Love the atmosphere in the restaurant. The people . The food ! This is an experience. If you are looking for super fast everything ... you are in the wrong place .. go to Taco Bell . This restaurant is for spending time and great conversation over great drinks and food ...

Coffee after symphony last night was a winner in our book!! Excellent wait staff and seated by the window to watch the late night goings-on in downtown Richmond! We splurged with a bit of dessert and were very pleased with our choices.
We just happened to stumble upon this jewel of a place. The food was absolutely delicious...the service was awesome and the atmosphere was absolutely perfect! We are not from the area but I’ll be sure to stop by again the next time I’m in Richmond.

We stopped in before a show at the theatre across the street, and I couldn't have been happier with our experience. The food was amazing, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and we will definitely be back!

This is not your ordinary Mexican restaurant that you know from your home town. Don’t expect complimentary chips and salsa, or rice and beans with your entree. This is a higher end restaurant experience. Enjoy the atmosphere and location. The food and service was good. Enjoy!
We were told that this was THE spot by the Locals. A small plate experience but with LARGE flavor. I'm still blown away. It was one of the best spots we have been to in a LONG time. SO MUCH FLAVOR! Best stop since we left SC!
A friend treated me to dinner for my birthday. The atmosphere is great and the food was delicious. We had the best waiter that made our celebration all the better. I would highly recommend this restaurant. P.S. great margaritas.
I've been eating my way around Richmond while my husband is in the local hospital. I passed this place on the way to a different restaurant which was closed, so I came back because this was the only one open. I'm glad that I tried it. I had the chipotle bourbon tacos, the lamb sliders, and a mango mojito. I enjoyed everything. The steak was cooked perfectly. Prices and portions are comparable to places that I've dined at in Washington, D.C.
A clean & inviting atmosphere. Wait time was a little longer than I’d expect for the amount of customers dining at the same time. My chips & guacamole tasted fresh & delicious, the ceviche was the perfect amount of citrus & spice, and the tres leches cake did not disappoint.

This is one of my favorites downtown. The interior is so fun and comfortable with the bar to the side that keeps the noise level down. The food is always delicious and inspired. My family loves the brunch menu and my husband and I have sampled every taco at the bar at one time or another. You just can’t go wrong here. The service has at times felt a little off but I think that has more to do with pandemic restrictions than anything else.
Outstanding food. Even with a large party, excellent service. It was a bit loud - very full, lots of animated conversations and rowdy celebrations. Very convenient for the theater across the street. Definitely worth the trip or outstanding choice for dinner if you are downtown.

Fabulous restaurant with great food, atmosphere and staff! I have been here a couple of times and both ties very much liked the food and the menu. As someone who has lived in San Diego for a while I have had a lot of Latin American food items and these were very unique and delicious. I will say that they also had some very healthy options. First time for brunch I had a veggie fajitas plate which was off the charts delicious. It came with an iron pan of veggies and a separate plate with beans, rice and fresh tortillas..amazing!!! They baked in an oven and fried the veggies -- served up a way I had not had them before...super good! Four of my friends also joined me and they also got respective dishes (not vegetarian) and also enjoyed them. Hand made margaritas and several versions including a jalapeno margarita were also unique and tasty. The staff (Jamal on the first visit, Ben on the second and all other staff) were professional, friendly and accommodating since I do request a lot of side items and water etc...Everyone thanked us for coming in and were very gracious. Last night we went back and once again the large open atmosphere with a very nice bar area set off the mood for a good time. last night I had the street corn which was awesome and the queso fundito (hold the chorizo please:-) and Farmer Taco's. All of these items also were delicious. The Farmer Tacos were all fresh locally sourced veggies with a great cream sauce. I know this is an owner run operation and would suggest getting some more vegetarian options on there to choose from or making the veggie fajitas a regular menu item. I am happy with all of the items so far but the veggie options are a bit limited when it comes to entrees. Mr. Ben out waiter last night did a great job checking up on us and we left again happy and very satisfied with everything. Good place for Sunday brunch or getting out and going into downtown. There is a large parking lot (paid parking) right next store so parking is easy if the spots on the street are full and the huge glass windows provide views of cool old buildings and downtown. Keep up the great work Maya Restaurant and I will look forward to seeing you again soon!
Really great place. Delicious food, reasonable prices, great drink selection, friendly service, laid-back atmosphere. At first I was a little disappointed at the speed of food delivery but it is really fresh and great tasting. A must stop.

Chef 👩🍳runs the restaurant. Looks upscale but lunch prices are very appropriate and really tasty food. Attention to detail at every ingredient that has gone to the dish. Loved the shrimp 🍤 fajitas, very well made.

Went here after our flight back from the holidays. The place wasn’t busy as I wasn’t expecting it to be with the time we went. 8:30PM. The ambiance was really nice and very clean. Staff was extremely attentive and informative. We got the flauta as an appetizer along with the octopus , honestly the octopus wasn’t season well and it was slimy we ate some of it but it wasn’t very good. Salmon and the arroz a lambada. It was all very very good! Recommend and we will be back
I've loved this place since my first visit and I frequent often. The staff is amazing There is an older gentleman who has been there for years and also Maria the owner who is so welcoming. I have had several events here and everyone RAVES about the food.
Get the queso fundio. The guac is also amazing. The serving size is small for the cost but it is delicious. The salmon is my favorite. However they don't always serve it with the spinach, which is the best. (Note to Restaurant: keep the spinach and make sure the plaintain to salmon ratio is so that you can have some for each bit of fish... This dish is the best thing on the menu!) Everything is great though. And the Sangria is magnificent. Always a 5 star experience.

Sat at the bar and started off with a cocktail which name I cannot remember. "Kentucky something". It was a tropical style cocktail made with bourbon, which is pretty unique and was pretty delicious! Bartender was super friendly, even if she judged my cocktail choices 😅
Food was also really good, got these Korean tacos with pork belly and kimchi rice. I really, really liked the kimchi rice and regret filling up on the tacos first.
Yum!!! We absolutely loved every bit of our dinner at Maya. We were passing through and picked this restaurant based on reviews. No disappointments there, and we can't wait to go back! The Pinot noir from France was outstanding. The guac was stellar. I loved my steak tacos and the cauliflower appetizer. I ate every ounce of leftovers the next day because it tasted out-of-this-world good. 💯

This restaurant was so good. The food and drinks were exceptional, the service was great. I wish I remembered the guys name, but the bill had him as server ID 4. It was a very artistic the presentation. I had the tamal with scallops and solo like shrimp and our jalepeño margaritas were spicey and delicious. The restaurant itself was in a cool building and the ambiance was also very artistic. I'd highly recommend this place.
