Fantastic place. Great choices on the menu and great prices. Wednesday is 1.25 tacos so a great deal. Service is great! Go there enough they know my kids names. Outdoor seating as well. Street tacos (Al Pastor) and Pollo Hawaiian are my top pics!

Our family eat at Rico off Nuckols road regularly. This is our first time visiting this location. Same great food. My husband is on low carb diet, they sautéed the Carnitas with onion and pepper. My husband thinks Rico’s has the best Carnitas. Our waiter worked very hard by himself. He didn’t talk much but he frequently checked on us. If you are in the mood for Mexican food, Rico’s is a great kids friendly restaurant with delicious food.

I think I've tried all of this type of Mexican restaurant in the Short Pump area, and Rico's is my favorite by far. I don't even look at other Mexican restaurants anymore (unless there's a new place that opens with great reviews, then I'll try it :)) I've had Rico's dine-in, carry out and delivery - all excellent by comparison to other local options. This location has a small covered patio. The inside is spacious; tables & booths do not feel cramped. The wait staff have all been friendly & courteous. I messed up my to-go order on my short lunch break one day and ordered carry out from the Glen Allen location which is too far from my office to pick up without being late getting back to work. I went to John Rolfe Pkwy thinking I had ordered there as usual, but found I had not. Left & called to cancel the order at the wrong location. They said they would transfer it to JRP - Did I want to carry-out or delivery? I was so grateful because otherwise I was having no lunch. I chose delivery & it arrived in ~10 minutes. That is excellent customer service! My favorites are #1 Chips (fresh, not too heavily salted, I always get extra for carry-out/ delivery & Keep them in airtight storage containers at home instead of buying store-bought); #2 red salsa (perfect, I could drink it - just enough heat to be spicy without hurting my lips); #3 cheese dip (because it wouldn't be my favorite Mexi restaurant unless the cheese dip was so good it makes you tear up when you taste it); #4 chicken + shrimp & chorizo entree; and #5 carnitas entree. I've had other menu items & all have been good/great: fresh guacamole, cheese + chorizo dip, husband's carne asada (yum!), lime margaritas on the rocks. The bar looks well-stocked, and I know they had a nice range of tequilas the last time we ate in ~6 months ago. They also had Dos Equis amber on draft, which was nice. Small complaint but not specific to Rico's: I loathe foil bottom/plastic top containers, but I don't know a better option. I hate that the food gets cold quickly, condensation drips off the plastic lid, sauces leak out surprisingly easily, and reheating in the oven burns, etc. Hoping for an innovation in the carry-out containers for this type of food. Photo captions: Reasonable priced. The tall cup is the large red salsa for perspective. The small red salsa and a bag of chips are included with the order for no additional charge. That cheese dip [mmm, ahhh, yum]!!

Food was excellent and the service was as well. We both had something called Chicken Hawaiian and it so good and so much food could have probably shared one. I think if you give this place a try you'll be like us, regular customers :-)

Combo #16 was just perfect. The Chile relleno is seriously one of the best I've had in a LONG time, and I legit order it at every Mexican restaurant I go to. The burrito and enchilada were so flavorful as well. After one sip of the watermelon Margarita, I knew I'd be ordering another!

Very simular to Casa Grande. Had good service and the food was out fast and decent quality. 4 margaritas, 1 beer, 4 meals, guacamole, $101 with tip.

This place is AMAZING. The food here is probably the best Mexican food I've ever had. The rice is very well seasoned and the burritos, besides being huge, are also delicious. The cheese sauce is what made the place for us. It's got a bit of spice to it, but the flavor is beyond words. Overall, we're very impressed with Rico's.

This place is awesome! It is our local spot and the staff is amazing. Rico's is a staple around here and it surely adds a lot to the neighborhood. I especially like the enchiladas, fajitas, and tacos. They also have specials on certain days and a lunch special every day.

Very clean and inviting! This was our first time here. Homemade salsa and chips were excellent. We ordered shrimp chimichanga and beef chimichanga. Both were excellent as well
