I found this small cafe when I stayed in the motel next door. I went there, Budget Inn, to get away from the old Motel 6 several blocks down with their lousy service, but that's another story. Anyway, this is a small diner that serves breakfast and lunch. I've been going there for breakfast on Friday's and like the menu and particularly the service. Sue runs around serving the customer with a great attitude. You won't run out of coffee or whatever else with her around. Good time to go is before 8:30 AM when the regulars come in. Another thing I like is they have Tobasco sauce by default instead of some other places that treat it like it is some treasure that has to be safeguarded from the masses.

This place is full of rustic charm. You can tell that it has been around for a while. That being said, the service was amazing and super friendly. I got the Combination Omelette with a side of hash browns and sourdough toast. All the food was great tasting and hot when it came out and the coffee had great flavor too.

A fantastic old school breakfast joint. It's looked this way since the 70s. Some of the seats are patched. It looks worn. But the coffee is endless, the staff are super helpful (everyone gets called "hon") and the food is amazing. I had the best omlette of my life here: perfectly cooked and seasoned. Phenomenal. Excellent value for money. Go if you are ever in Ridgecrest, it's a gem. They don't take credit cards so bring cash, or go to the ATM across the street first.

The server is always very friendly. The biscuits and gravy is delicious. The decor is very dated and needs to be updated. The seats are very uncomfortable mainly cause the springs and cushioning in the seats are very worn out.

Been going there for over 50 years. Different owners through different times but it's still the same feeling locals that have been here for a long time always gather there for breakfast. Was just there for breakfast this morning. You really got to love it it's like something that lives on. It's a real hometown Midway Cafe locals for a long time residents have gathered there for decades and I enjoy every time I sit there coffee is always great service is fantastic and the food is great I recommend the biscuits and gravy. But get there early it will be gone by 9:00 a.m.

Small diner with very local feel and great service. It may not look like much from the outside but this high desert cafe is a time machine to the past. The decor and layout is mid-century cafe with what looks like all original furnishings. Maybe reupholstered sometime during the Carter Administration, it is nostalgic without trying to be. Food is good without pretension or much flair, but this isn’t that type of restaurant; burgers, breakfasts, comfort food. What sets this little cafe apart was the service; welcoming without being sappy or fake. Great little spot.

Best old school type of cafe ever. I chose to check this place out based on the fact they seemed to be known for their biscuits and gravy among the locals and didn't disappoint. Their biscuits are perfect and I just loved their hashbrowns flavor and the ham and cheese omelet I ordered. Their coffee is the beat diner type of coffee too. Our waitress was so nice and friendly and even though my son had spilled his soda she didn't get upset at all hut had a wonderful and friendly disposition. Our family has definitely found it's favorite breakfast spot anytime we are in ridgecrest.

Amazing place with amazing people. I've never had any experience like it anywhere else and I try to go there at least 3 times a week. They are cash only, but as a result it's about $17 or so for an incredibly large breakfast and large amounts of coffee. On weekends when I go in, due to me doodling on napkins the waitress will sometimes give me a stack of napkins so I have more room for everything. Seriously, the best place in California, and I'll deeply miss everything about it as I move away.

Excellent service! Downhome cooking and atmosphere. My husbands favorite place to get breakfast, and the best (homemade!) biscuts and gravy in town. Resonable prices.

Great little hole in the wall place to eat. It is so cool when you walk in there it is like walking into a time capsule where everything got stuck in the 70's. The food is amazing I had the burger when I went and my mother had the tuna melt the food was amazing. Highly recommend this place if your into classic diner food. Make sure to bring cash with you though it is a cash only establishment!
