Reviews Raymond's

My wife and I stumbled across Raymond’s after running some errands and needed a quick nosh. The decor was great and heartens back to memories of old Brooklyn eateries I experienced as a child before fast food and linoleum became the norm. My first issue with the place was my own indecision while perusing the menus. I wanted to try it all. I finally decided to go with their Breakfast BLT which in fact is a great take on eggs benedict. I was ready for lackluster cooking as most line cooks lately seem not to know how to properly poach an egg. I was greatly pleased with what came. Perfect execution of every ingredient on the plate! Folks, this meal was delightful. Perfect bacon, crisp arugula, hollandaise sauce done right, on a bed of roasted potatoes that were cooked right. They have a promotion that contributes to hunger in NJ for every soup order purchased. The chicken and dumpling soup was great. Not a drop left in my bowl. The waiter who served us was charming and gave us knowing smiles whe we told him “how everything was so far”. Very nice to see a very well run establishment with staff who seemingly know that they work in a special place and bring their own world class charm and excellent service. It felt good to be there. Who says such a thing about an eatery? I do now. Thanks Raymond’s for your great food and charming hospitality. I look forward to coming again and again!

Our first time to Raymond's... hands down the best Cuban sandwich and fish and chips we have ever had. Also got the French toast, but it was too greasy and lacked some cinnamon/vanilla flavor. Overall, we had a great experience and the vanilla egg cream and vanilla ice cream were amazing! We will certainly be back!

Friendly and very attentive wait staff. Our waiter was charming and seemed to know just when to check on us. Our breakfast was fabulous. It's apparent that the best, fresh ingredients are being used. Absolutely delicious. And definitely the best coffee around!

The grilled cheese sandwich that I ate was not only the best *grilled cheese* sandwich I had ever eaten but possibly the best *sandwich* I've ever eaten. I went again yesterday and ordered the garden salad and it was absolutely delicious.

Delicious breakfast with quick service. The chicken wings were tasty but could have been cooked longer to achieve a crisp skin. The breakfast bowl was absolutely delicious. My husband enjoyed the waffles w/ bacon and eggs. We will definitely return with our kids who we believe will enjoy it as well.

Great place to have breakfast in Ridgewood. When walked in you immediately had the feel of an old time diner. It was decorated with charm and we were immediately greeted by a very polite and welcoming hostess. We were there on a Friday morning and sat immediately. Almost all of the tables were full but the service was fast and the food was amazing. We started with coffee, which was hot and flavorful. All three breakfasts were cooked to order. I had a custom omelet, my daughter Courtney, had the French Toast and her husband Mike had the Huevos Rancheros. All of the plates looked as good as they tasted. The service was excellent and no one tried to rush us out. I definitely recommend going to Raymond's it is worth the trip.

A fantastic experience for my first time. This was a great brunch. I have always had fond memories of Ridgewood (Country House Pancake) and the town did not disappoint once again. It was great that it was a Sunday as parking, which is normally so difficult was easy with free parking. The wait on a Sunday was only about 20 minutes for two. The hostess was fantastic in making sure we were seated in a place not too close to the door as it was a cold day. Our Server AJ was fantastic he was quick to take our order and the food was out in approximately 15 minutes and it was a surprisingly busy day (Pandemic and all). The Belgian Waffles and the Steak and Eggs was what I had as you can see below. I requested the eggs hard as I did not feel like chasing runny eggs. It was perfect. I was not aware that they had potatoes in it and oh boy. I am not a fan of potatoes for breakfast at all but these were some different type of potatoes, I am convinced they laced them with love just for me. They were so good I ordered them to go for my best friend at home (She would have killed me yall). The steak was not over seasoned or over cooked and the waffles were ok. They were a bit hard to be honest but I was able to manage through them. Overall the ambiance was very very good. The only concern was how packed it was with Covid-19 and I didn't see them deeply sanitize the tables just a little wipe down. Outside of that the place was very very good. It's intimate and drives a loud vibe especially on Sunday. I will definitely be visiting them again. Well done Raymond crew.

This restaurant, which has all the ambience of a classic American diner, is a staple of Ridgewood known for their variety and consistently good food. The burger I had was nice and juicy, but didn’t have much more flavor than that. Not a bad burger, just nothing amazing, the pumpkin cheesecake muffin was unruly good, and the onion rings were really oily, but super tasty. The pancakes and sausage, that I don’t have pictures of, earned rave reviews from my girlfriends nephew and older brother. It smelled awesome, but I never had it. I would recommend this place, for sure.

Nice widely spaced tables outside. The first table we sat at was terribly wobbly. The waitress even said that it was a problem with that table. Don't know why they still have it. Anyway, the food was excellent. Wife got the Mexican bowl and I got the steak and eggs. I asked for the steak to be cooked medium well and it was cooked perfectly. Great seasoning and char to the steak. The eggs and potatoes were just right. Both dishes were just simple and fresh ingredients that were cooled well. I also thought that everything was reasonably priced, which is rare. We will definitely be back.

Pleasant dining experience. Pictured is my entree, the Goffle Farm Brick Chicken. It was deliciously seasoned and the smashed potatoes were hot and crispy. One star removed for the incredible delays in service. Took 5 minutes to get seated and that was only because I finally just walked up to one of the two-top tables and asked if I could sit there. Then came delays in waiting to have my order taken and even to just get water. It's a great spot, but the staff really needs to be aware of the customers. It seemed many were just distracted.
