Great Food Great Beer!. I've eaten at Cazuela's several times and each and every time I am blown away. The food is amazing and always comes out quickly. The best part about the food is that it is authentic Mexican cuisine and not New Mexican hybrid like most of the other places in town. In addition to being authentic they also serve seafood, another rarity in New Mexico. They recently expanded their menu to include wood oven pizzas during happy hour.
The micro brew beer is amazing. I personally like the Chupacabra IPA and the award winning oatmeal stout "Beer For My Horses" best, but enjoy drinking the Acapulco Gold during hot summer months as well.
A Hidden Gem. Why this place wasn't on our radar sooner, I'll never know. The place was busy on a Friday evening, but not overly so. The Acapulco Gold draft was frosty and very good. The salsa and chips were excellent. The entree my wife requested, from the menu, is no longer served. The proprietor said they hadn't served that for 5 years or so. Why is it still on the menu then? It was a grilled whole chicken leg. They should have made it for her, since the newly-hired server wrote it down. He clearly didn't know that just because something is on the menu means they'll actually prepare it for you! All things considered, the food we were served was very good, a decent portion size, and reasonably priced. The owner is affable and friendly.
We're thinking about returning to try a Sunday breakfast/brunch............
Great beer, terrible food. Im giving this a thumbs up because the beer is actually very good here and unfortunately under rated. But I would not eat here, got some appetizers and most were still frozen right out of the frier.
Like the recent brewery addition.. Heard these guys added a brew house and stopped to check it out. Was expecting to find a small, inadequate system and was surprised to see a true 7 bbl system. The beer was pretty good. The brewer Mike Campbell is a known entity in the local brewing circles and spent some time with Tractor back in the day. The food isn't too bad, but I can't say that it fits in with the whole brewery thing. Something just felt off. My upvote is for the beer. The beer is good and that is the bottom line.
First time there. Waitress was pleasant as well as the man, i assume to be the manager. Another witer there, unplesant and walked away without greeting us. Got the spicey shrimp and enchiladas. The shrimp was excellent. The enchiladas, not so much. Id go again and try another seafood dish.
A refreshing take on the NM food scene. In a town where mediocrity rules and everything tastes the same, Cazuela's does it different. Their food is great, but where they shine is the seafood menu. Fabulous. The Molcajedes are beyond compare. If you have the standard burrito when you come, you missed the point. Try new things and be amazed. You will not be disappointed if you enjoy great food prepared very well. If you're looking for Sadies(crap) east, go to taco bell.
Good food and great Service. I finally made it over to this resteraunt yesterday for a late lunch. I arrived about 3:00 and was pleased to find them open as alot of resteraunts in this area close between lunch and dinner. I walked in and was seated immediately. The server was very friendly and very attentive. My food was served promptly and was delicious. The salsa was some of the best i have ever tasted. I am planning on returning with my family.
Just finished lunch there with a friend and we both found it satisfying. The interior is very nice and welcoming and the food was good enough that we'd both go back. I got Carnitas and she got the fish tacos. My only complaint was they should've put a bit more meat in my tacos. Otherwise the food was very fresh and tender. I don't know what it was like before with other managemnet or whatever, but it was just fine now.
Best breakfast burrito around yummy hot chili. Just one thing they cost FIVE bucks a pop. They moved into a new renovated fancy building and they should of stayed in there hole in the wall shack where the prices were reasonable.
Pretty good lunch menu. You can get a coupon on restaurant.com. At lunch you have to specifically ask for the lunch portion or they will charge you for the dinner, which I think is not right. But the food is good.
