We were just at Nadrona Bar & Grill. Had drinks in the afternoon and came back for dinner. Our server Jared was awesome! Great recommendations and service! Highly recommend the short ribs and hot noodle dish with shrimp and bar b que pork! We were lucky enough to time our dinner for the color ceremony so the evening was even more fun! Quintessential Roche Harbor!
Loved the Pig War Martini and Fluffy Duck cocktails. We had the seafood appetizer and our 21 and 16 yr old sons loved every bit of it-especially the garlic wine sauce. We ordered bread to soak it up. Our meals were all great. Beet salad, fish and chips, lamb burger. Thanks to our Southern server Rachel from Tennessee!
Great service, gorgeous view, lovely restaurant. The outdoor deck is quaint, great people watching, charm,unexpected in this secluded spot.
Spent the weekend at Rosario Resort and Spa and had never been to Orcas Island before. Had reservations for Saturday night at The Mansion to celebrate our anniversary, so we went to "town" for dinner the night before. The Mansion was delicious, but I far more enjoyed the food and the server here!! Steve was our server and he was fantastic! Very attentive, but let us enjoy our romantic meal. The best Caesar salad and salmon I have ever had. And the Jambalaya was amazing! We will return for certain.

We had another glorious dinner on the deck at the Madrona Grill last evening. I have a new fave ... the crab mac & cheese is heaven sent and a perfect accompaniment to the breathtaking sunset.
You can't beat the view and atmosphere and the service is really great too. Food is good but nothing out of this world.
We love the Madrona! We always sit on the deck and have cocktails and appies when we tie up here. The service is impeccable and the view can't be beat.

We visited the Madrona Restaurant on San Juan Island.
First off let me just say the location is just spectacular as it looks over Roche Harbor. The environment and atmosphere is superb. I couldn't ask for a more scenic and lovely place to dine.
The staff were very friendly and attended to our every need.
We ordered some fish tacos and bulgogi beef tacos and a drink. They were all very good and definitely worth trying. The cost for the tacos was a little over $20 for two tacos. That being said even though that seems a little pricey for tacos the atmosphere and service made it worth it.
Definitely recommend enjoying this establishment.
Roche Harbor is a must-see, and this place is a must do! Large deck right in the water overlooking the Marina. We were seated outside in the sun right away at 1PM. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly, he took exceptional care of us. This Grill does close for the Winter season, typically after September 30. My better half had the Steak Bowl and I had a salad, but we're fresh and light and filling. Highly recommend!

We ate here after a nice boat ride. The place itself has picturesque views over the water and we lucked out to have a nice, sunny day. Being gluten free, traveling in a group can be hard, and I went into this place blind as it had been chosen by someone else in our group. Upon arrival I was pleased to see gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, and vegan were all marked on the menu. There were a handful of gluten free options, including their french fries (fried in a separate, dedicated fryer), but only one that was both gluten free and dairy free without modifications. I went with the fire-roasted vegetable vegan bowl but I think the black bean burger and fish tacos could probably have been modified to be dairy free and gluten free. I also ordered a side of fries. The bowl was just okay. In my opinion it lacked flavor and needed more sauce. I also didn’t love that the asparagus spears were raw. It was pretty filling, though. The fries on the other hand were phenomenal. So good they don’t even need dipping sauce! Don’t miss out on them. Overall a good experience—great views, and multiple options for gluten free.
This is such a beautiful restaurant overlooking a beautiful marina. The outdoor seating was perfect. I only got two appetizers, but the main entrees looked good as well.
We stopped in for a quick beer and an appetizer. The calamari was a large serving and we loved how it was prepared. The visit was well worth it.
Best food we had on the island. Relaxed atmosphere with great gluten free options. Loved this spot and Roche harbor, 10/10 would recommend. Excellent service and everything was more than reasonably priced.
I was surprised at how good the food and service was at this restaurant. We tried everything from calamari to the chop chop bowl. It is an outstanding bar and grill for being the only place in Roche Harbor.
Service was fantastic and the views can’t be beat.
I usually go after the fish and chips however I tried the steak bowl and wasn’t disappointed. I started with the steak starter and loved the taste. The steak bowl had a flavor of its own. You could taste the same flavor from the meat as the appetizer but it bursted with other very fresh flavors. The wife got the fish tacos and thought those to be really great as well. Definitely worth the trip out there.

One of my favorite places to eat as a local. Not only getting a water-side seat to watch the marina and see the view, but the food and service have always been excellent in the 19 years we've lived here. We can relax on the deck, have a few cocktails, and enjoy the views. Couldn't be better!! This time we ordered the crab quesadilla, onion rings (best on the island!), the fish tacos, and the Wagyu beef dip sandwich. Wow! And the Huckleberry Baby Back Ribs are AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! SUPERB! We also love their chop chop noodle salad and their burgers. You really can't go wrong. So glad Madrona Grill is keeping their good quality going. As always, well done!!! Highly recommended!

We decided to try this place since it was such a gorgeous day and wanted to take advantage of what was left of summer. We sat outside close to the door going into the restaurant but still had nice views.The pace of appetizers and main entree was timed well. We started with the calamari and seared ahi tuna. The calamari had a curry flavor which made it unique but very tasty from the normal preparation you see at other restaurants. The Ahi was a lovely presentation, but we felt that the fish was cut small and definitely lots of filler (Asian slaw and seaweed salad). The local rock fish and chips was delicious the beer battered fish was cooked perfectly. The fries were some of the best I've had. The house made tartar sauce was super good with the touch of caper and artichoke. My husband had the Wagyu dip and he thought it was decent but nothing to write home about. The staff were super sweet and friendly and regularly checked in with us. Overall a great experience in Roche Harbor. Definitely will be regular stop for us when we come up to the island.
It has a beautiful ambiance specially the desk sitting. The food was good specially the rock fish was delicious and so were the fish and chips. The clam chowder was also really nice. Overall had a nice time 🙂
This place was very good, probably 4.5 stars. The fish tacos were amazing, and the French fries were some of the best I've ever had. Halibut and chips were good, but the fish to batter ratio was too small--I'd expect a nicer size piece of fish and less batter. That said, they were quite tasty. Atmosphere was excellent and so was the service.
This place is AMAZING! The food is great and the views are beautiful, overlooking the water and harbor area. Food was great with a variety of special drinks. The staff was super friendly and just made the whole experience better. Shoutout to Ale who looked after us well.
This place is very good. Their fish and chips were delicious, as was their caesar salad. Great view of the harbor and great location. The prices are very reasonable for the location and food quality (everything and every place in the San Juan islands is 20-25% more expensive than the mainland because it has to be shipped in via ferry). This place comes highly recommended in my book.
We stopped in for lunch after a short flight over from orcas island. Wow! We got calamari, cobb salad, rock fish sandwich, French dip, and the chicken sandwich plus Fries and slaw. Everything we got was phenomenal! Our group is fairly well traveled around the world and generally tough critics; we were all quite blown away by how good this place was.
Worth adding, the deck has an incredible view. Often times places with a great location / view ride on that rather than the quality of there food. Definitely not the case here!
I came not believing that a restaurant that caters to tourists would bother too make anything edible. I was dead wrong
This place makes outrageously good food . Best fries ever eaten. Friends their wagyu roast beef will make you weep openly like a child. I will thinking about this meal for a while. First rate service, outstanding views.
Madrona doesn't need to be good as the average customer never comes back, but they are excellent because they clearly care!!
