To my knowledge the only place in Rochester to get a scotch egg, and the only place that does actual shepherds pie with lamb (when made with beef it's cottage pie). The beer selection is fantastic, the food is delicious, and the staff are always friendly and awesome! The only thing I wish is that th
The cutest, coziest little joint with the best British food.
A satisfying and scrumptious meal. Very filling British cuisine with some German Oktiberfest mixed in. Burger was delectable. Staff were helpful and friendly. Nice place for a meal out or a pint at the pub.
The fish fry was amazing. The fries however were very over cooked. Server was nice and as attentive as she could as she was running the bar and serving tables.
I'm so happy this establishment survived the last several years. One of my favorite spots to visit when I was in school and when I return to visit!
A fun place to have a bite. Nice British-style pub food, with a decent whiskey selection. The Scotch eggs are great, if you can get one (they make a limited batch daily). The music is low and the atmosphere is relaxed. The service is pleasant, if a little slow.
I've been going to the Old Toad for years now; it certainly is a Rochester classic. The fish and chips are award winning (for at least 6 years in a row I believe), the mushy peas are one of a kind, and you absolutely must try the sticky toffee pudding which is pictured below. There is a very extensi
Great vegetarian options and comfort food! The service and atmosphere offer a unique dining experience. The Old Toad often also has rare beers. My wife and I were thrilled to find a bottle of Founders CBS there yesterday.
Always great and interesting beers including a few pulled pints. Food is ENGLISH not Irish pub food which is a nice change from the usual.
Parking can be a challenge at times but worth the hassle.
Great fish and chips. Warm and friendly.
Authentic pub with great food, imported beers and an atmosphere that is hard to find outside of England. We have been going to the Old Toad since we were youthful toads ourselves, decades now, and we still have many memories of good times there.
Recently it was great to see the old standby was stil
Eventhough it was busy and tables were reserved and we did not have reservations on a Tuesday evening, the wonderful staff seated us and we had a nice tasty meal that did not cost us and arn and a leg. Certainly value for money!
An authentic style English pub. Very homey and inviting. Food is great and so are the beverages.
Stellar cheese board. Excellent drafts on tap. Easy in easy out.
Haven't been here in 9 years and it hasn't changed one bit. Amazing vibe, unique aroma, great whiskey and beer menu.
We enjoy it very much. I had fish & chips (excellent). Wife had chicken wrap ( also excellent). Atmosphere was great.
Always a good relaxing experience. Last few times I've gone they haven't had their cask ales on which is one of my favorite parts. They always have a fantastic whiskey selection though, and the scotch eggs are bangin.
