Mamasan’s food has always been good and fresh. Service is quality. It is a better take out place than sit down but you can be seated. Past locations were nice for eating out. Recommend for take out.
The food is okay but the staff make the experience nice. Parking can be tricky during lunchtime to the point where I parked in the Mamasan's customers area but since I was waiting for my friends to arrive. I was asked to move. This was my third time supporting this business and it left a bad taste in my mouth. So outside service is different than inside service.
Overall I’m coming here for the food itself. The staff is friendly but you’re not getting any special experience other than enjoying great food. I ordered the typical beef pho and it was delicious. Each spoon full got better. I would highly recommend coming in.
The food was fantastic. I'll be back next time I'm in Rochester. Everyone was friendly and, mamasan told us about the cool artwork she commissioned for the restaurant.
Food was delicious. The older lady who may be the owner was kind and had a friendly face with warmth but there are some young ladies...one of them felt like she was being forced to work. Had very rude expressions when asked for help with food.
The food was indeed delicious. Service may be slow due to understaffed but the food is worth the wait.
We ordered and paid for the food at the cashier, then we sat down. The food was alright. We ordered fried rice and pho. The pho only had beef, but the beef were well cooked. The broth was hot, the noodle was so good on a cool day. The size was not big, it was good size for me. The price was ok.
The chicken mamasan noodles were the best noodles I have ever had in my life! Wowee are they delicious! Smokey nutty flavor with noodles cooked to perfection! The lady running the place was super funny and sweet! I haven't even finished eating my lunch, had to write a review right away, already can't wait to go back!
Got take out from the new location for the first time. We've been regulars since the 80s at the two previous locations. The food was fantastic as always. I recommend the Beef Pho. The Mamasan's noodles are tasty but a bit sweet.
Best place. We moved out of state but every time we visit back home we make sure to stop here. Noodle salad and Thai curry is the best. And the Vietnamese iced coffees!
Really love the Pho. But if you are expecting the same dumpling sauce as other asian restaurants, know that this is mostly Hoisin and not soy sauce based. The dumplings are still quite good. The coconut soup is also amazing.

We drove over an hour to get there based on my experiences of when they were on University ave many years ago and we were not disappointed. We had fried spring rolls, steamed dumplings, chicken coconut soup and shrimp pad Thai . All very fresh ingredients and flavorful. Momasan and her daughter were very friendly. We had a great experience well worth the drive. We look forward to coming again.
Me and my family stumbled into this place by accident. The lady that greet us at the door was very warm,friendly and helpful. The lady at the counter made me feel at home. Me my wife and my mother-in-law had pho and shrimp rolls.the food was fresh,tasty and just the way we like it. Can't wait to go back to Rochester so we can have lunch at Mamaroneck very very nice

Mamasons is the best vietmanese restaurant in rochester no comparison.
Whenever I'm hungry all I want is Mamasons sesame chicken, spicy coconut soup, fresh shrimp spring rolls and a vietmanese ice coffee.
Take it from a litteral lifetime coustomer (my mom's non stop craving when she was pregnant with me.)
These dishes, staff and this restaurant are fantastic!
Every restaurant has hit or miss days and dishes. Their traditional vietmanese dishes are absolutely flavorful and fantastic.
I have empathy for the owners as far as patience and parking goes. They have a very small parking lot and their trying their best to make sure there is enough space for paying coustomers and not just people eating McDonald's or waiting for Starbucks coffee you can imagine what a hard time is given to them for standing up to trespassers.
They are extremely understaffed to the point where they don't really wait on tables anymore you order at the front and the food is brought to your table.
The owners have been in business many years and don't get many days off due to staffing.
They are working very hard to give evey coustomer a nice experience this restaurant is well worth the patience and kindness it takes to eat here.
