My older son attended U of R and told us of this diner back in 2010. A place we may have not known about. We went there for 4 years whenever we visited him. When my son graduated in 2014, we were sad about not being able to attend this diner. When my younger son decided to go to RIT, we were thrilled to return to Mt. Hope. Best service, best food, and we adore the atmosphere. Down home feeling. One time there was a line out the door, and we were thanked for waiting and asked if anyone wanted some coffee. Love, love, love this place. Wish we were closer.

Been going to Mt. Hope Diner for years. Always take out of town friends and family for the best breakfast in town. Now they ask when they come in town and Mt. Hope never disappoints. My favorite diner.

Not only is the food fantastic but the staff is unbelievable! My family was in Rochester recently for an extended period of time due to my mom being hospitalized. It was a very difficult time for my family and the staff here made us feel so welcome, almost like we were a part of their family! I cannot possibly say enough good things about this restaurant. The staff there will always hold a special place in my family's heart

We have been going to MountbHope for years. It is like a home away from home. It's lively, always festive in one way or another, and they take good care of everyone. Food is good diner-style - very filling, well-prepared.

I've gone here for years. Great All American Diner. My dad and his wife (Fred and Jane) were regular customers for eight years. When they became sick and then died Mike and their favorite waitresses mourned with us. The Mount Hope Diner is the best! Fast service, great food, good price, friendly staff!!

Great variety, excellent service, but it's relatively unknown. If you're in that area, I definitely recommend it.

Busy good sized diner, we got (11:30) there just in time to beat the lunch crowd. The place was packed by noon. Pretty large menu, and very reasonable prices. My breakfast was very good, but I did have to pay an extra $0.50 to get peppers and onions with my home fries. Their Broccoli Chicken Cheddar Wrap was also quite good. Back for a second time, and again we just beat the lunch crowd. Due to the crowd service was pretty slow, but our waitress was very apologetic. Their roasted red pepper soup was tasty but a little too salty. My "Hat Trick" breakfast was barely above room temperature at best.

Excellent and fast service. The food was decent with good portion size. Their pancakes felt slightly below par. The ambience was nice, but their cutlery is pretty old. The coffee mug was chipped off here and there, and the plates looked pretty worn out. I think it’s time for them to renovate because some parts of their roof had mold, which is not good for restaurants in general. And it wasn’t easy to find parking space on a Sunday morning.

Solid classic, no frills east coast diner 👍 Great experience coming here again after 15 years. Corned beef hash and pancakes are just as we remembered.

Was in the area for a medical procedure and needed food right after. Stopped in just before it got busy on a late Monday morning. My server was fantastic and had a great attitude. She also was able to get a really good read on her guests, and was incredibly efficient. Food was fast and tasty, no issues. Restaurant was clean from what I saw, and parking was not too bad at all. Definitely stop by if you're in the area and want a lot of food for very fair prices with great service.

The food was fantastic! I had sausage gravy, biscuits, scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, and coffee, it was all perfect! The service was fast, polite, and cheerful from the initial greeting until praying the check. I highly recommend going there if you are in the area and want a great meal with great portions for great prices with as smile! Thank you Mt Hope diner for a great breakfast experience after a not great day yesterday!

Nice old family diner. Prices are more expensive than Denny's and other value diners, but your are getting good quality. I spent $21 by myself on food and coffee. It is not the highest quality experience of a family dinner I have been to, I would give it an average score. Overall, it is a good diner but does need some atmospheric, quality, and lower price improvements. If you live nearby, it would be worth a visit, and maybe every few weeks.

The diner is good for what it is, a neighborhood eatery providing ordinary food at a good price. The menu has a variety of breakfast and lunch options. The food is ok but not as good as similar restaurants like Jay's or Steve's. The staff are pleasant and efficient. The facilities are a bit cramped. It has its niche and is a good place for a quick bite if you are in the area. I certainly like it better than the fast food franchises.

A fantastic little family owned and operated diner right outside of the University of Rochester. On the weekends, it gets pretty busy with all the hungover college kids, but tables clear up quick. Always delicious and fast with great service.
