I have been going to this place for a long time. I took my son here for his first plate when he was 16 yrs. old. He is now 37. I enjoy your plates and never had a bad one. I have been trying a different plate now. It is the grilled cheese plate and it is delicious. Keep up the good work!
Ive done had every garbage plate around and ima big boy i know my food, lol hands down the best spot for a bombass plate nd that man cookin up them burgers, is the MVP... Best of everything nd that sauce man, just go grab one.

As a native Rochester boy who now lives in Kentucky, this is always my first and last stop anytime I visit. Brought 3 out of state guys yesterday and they ate their first "real" garbage plate. I make my version down in Kentucky but it is never the same unless experienced there in Rochester. We ate plates at 7am. No one needed to eat until we were back in Kentucky 9 hours later. Excellent as always.

From Atlanta, Georgia eating here for the first time. Honestly have to say most disgustingly delicious thing I've ever eaten. Now see why it's called a garbage plate. Will definitely have to make more trips up from the south just for these.

After a night of drinking and or smoking this food is perfect I really enjoyed it and I'm a large guy but the food made me full
Been coming here since the 1990s when I went to college at RIT. It had a different name then. Staff still recognizes me even though I only make it in a few times a year when passing through Rochester on trips to Detroit. Food is great, place is clean, and they welcome everyone. The cheeseburger plate, heavy everything, Mac and home fries is my usual.
Perfect food for after a night out because the restaurant stays open really late. The food was good workers are really chill and laid back. No credit cards. Cash only.

I’m gluten free, and I got the cheeseburger plate without the Mac salad, and I had no issues with cross contamination ☺️ Super delicious!
Plates are excellent, if you don't like your burgers with pink centers ask for them well done. (Owner could be a little nicer, especially when they mess up, which is not often but you don't go there to see him, you go for the plates).

Came in and ordered the Pork Sausage Plate with Home Fries and Macaroni Salad. Tons and tons and tons of food. Everything was solid food, nice meal to get full off of and it’s nice that this establishment is open late.
Good fast food. Original mac homefries cheese burger plate with everything on it. I like mustard. So i get extra hot sauce extra onions with fair or light amount of mustard and heavier on katchup.

Add this to you Rochester ROC City dining experience. Eating a Garbage Plate is a right of passage for anyone traveling through the area all the local Rochesterians. Formally Nick Tahou's it is owned and operated by another family member. I would recommend the half and half with fries, mac & topped with everything.
I first came to Nick Tahoe's in the late 90s while going to college in Rochester. Thank goodness I was introduced to this Rochester institution! If you live or are visiting, you absolutely owe it to yourself to try this place at least once, for you cannot truly call yourself a Rochestarian if you have never partaken of the sacred fruit. Nick Tahoe may be gone, God rest his blessed soul, but his legacy lives on here. Do not resist your own destiny. Come get a garbage plate today.
