Sat on the patio, excellent and quick service. Burger was delicious and the bread was toasted and buttered rye. A very vintage vibe. I felt very attended to and welcomed ❤️ we ordered a patty melt 😍 and the kids menu got dog. Coffee taste fresh. Wonderful first time experience here

Family diners are wonderful places to feel connected with your neighbors. Good food and friendly wait staff. It's my first time here, and certainly not my last.
They place was nice waitress was very attentive food was ok steak and eggs great hash browns plain and under cooked.

Over the years, I have driven past this place more times than I can count, but never dined there.
Our neighbors planned a get-together and chose Lakeside, it was great! The food was fresh and hot, the owner and staff were pleasant! Definitely found a (new to me!) gem to frequent again and again.
First visit was for breakfast. I had the ribeye steak and eggs. The hash browns were golden brown and crispy just the way they should be! It's pathetic how so many places can't seem to get that right. Everything was hot and cooked to order. My wife had the country fried steak which is topped with sausage gravy. The gravy was very flavorful but not overly peppery. The coffee was hot fresh and delicious, and it waitress kept our cups full.
Second visit was a solo stop for lunch where I ordered the cowboy burger and onion rings. The hamburger was fresh, not frozen and cooked to a nice medium. Onion rings were bread and cooked to a perfect crispy golden brown.
Both experiences were just what you want from a diner. Fast service good food, and reasonable prices.

Karin took this place over and did an excellent job at updating it to better food and accepting plastic. Coffee is much better than before as well. I recommend the breakfast sandwich on a bun. Parking has drastically improved as well.

Food could definitely use some improvements, and space is not conducive for a larger family to sit and eat. Also, only takes cash; that's just a big no no in my eyes. All of this could easily be fixed though, and I sincerely hope they do work to improve it because we need a good breakfast spot in Charlotte.
Amazing love the food. Good than going to a modern fastfood place, same price but a little healthier options for sure. Definitely will go again!
I grew up in NJ and a good diner is hard to find in some parts of this country. This is a hidden gem of a place. I've had an omelet, pancakes, eggs, breakfast burrito, and lots of coffee here. It's all great. Perfect place for a Saturday brunch. Has booth tables and counter options. Very friendly staff. I highly recommend it.

Great little diner with awesome breakfast, can't go wrong here, but can be pretty busy on the weekends , plan on waiting a few minutes but it's totally worth it.
